Hi all,
Beautiful day here. It looks like the hydrangeas took a beating from the cold snap. They're nowhere near as full as they were last year. I'm so attached to my plants. I think my maternal instinct got misplaced because I care so much about plants and animals, lol.
Reading a book by Neil Gaiman now...Ocean at the End of the Lane.

Hi!
It is hot here! Yesterday we walked along the main street outside our hotel for about 30 minutes then came back in. Since we have both been here before there is not much we want to do here. So it was another day by the pool, reading.
Oh, forgot to tell you that at the airport in Dubai, we got stuck on the tracks in the shuttle from arrival to baggage claim, hundreds of people. For about 20 minutes in the heat, it was getting really hot as AC wearing off. They finally let us out and we had to walk back to the building on the sides of the tracks. Once back we waited until they got another shuttle in which took awhile.
Wow, between the flight cancellation the day before that and being stuck on the tracks, crazy - none of which has ever happened to us in 30+ yrs of traveling. Guess we've been lucky.
Joan, you got a lot done on your yardwork and gardening! I do not have a green thumb at all, and don't have the patience.
Hi Hollly, Jojo.
Happy Easter to all

Happy Easter! He is risen!
Sue - sorry you had a rough start for your trip. Happy that you are now enjoying your time. Keep in touch as long as you can.
Holly- a nice holiday time for you. Rare to get holidays around Easter these days!
Joan - your yard must be beautiful. I have some garden led lights that I hung yesterday too. My little potted plants haven't bloomed yet. I planted them in Miracle Groa soil ; so far I shouldn'thave to fertilize.
Had my first iron infusion Friday and have done pretty well. See why I need another though. DDIL. and DS and family brought lunch Sat. . The kids hid eels in our back yard and had fun finding them. Beautiful weather here too Joan!

Happy Easter all. Pretty low key here. My parents, sister, and I had Easter lunch after church.
I need to get my state ID and passport renewed. The weird thing is I have to actually go to the DMV for the ID. With a driver's license you can renew online. Such a pain.

Sue, hopefully you won't hit anymore snags from here on out.
JoJo, glad the infusions have made a difference.

Hi!
We met a nice British couple last night, they have been on 41 cruises (they like British cruiselines like Queen Mary), amongst other vacations that are not cruises. Good life!
Jojo, glad the first infusion is working already!
Holly, low key is good! What is your sister doing these days?
We're leaving the hotel soon for the ship. Will check in when I can.
Oh, I feel lighter already, I asked for a scale for our room and it might not be accurate, but at least I don't think I gained.

Hi all,
Went to the DMV and renewed my ID. Ready to go back to work tomorrow. I get so restless sitting at home all the time.
Sue, have fun! My sister is finishing up her CNA certification, and is applying to nursing school at the community college, and for jobs.

Hi all, Home made pizza tonight. No wine. Haven't hardlY had any since feeling so bad, about two months. Did have a glass the night of the theater last week.
Went to the dentist today to get my root canal tooth fixed - filling put in. Glad that is all over for now.
Tomorrow the GI doc.
Tired today and will go to bed early.
Will miss Sue's posts but know she is having a great time!

I am getting sort of irked by this site--it worked perfectly all this time and now it makes me log in every time and it loses posts---I posted on Sunday and it totally disappeared! So weird---it's just acting differently for me.
Anyway, Easter breakfast went well---but I had taken Benadryl to go to bed Sat. Night as I have a terrible bite on my leg--spider I think--that was getting worse and worse--well, dumb me, took two--OMG, Sunday I was drugged all day---did the breakfast and then crashed on the couch and didn't move till time for the play--An American in Paris---I managed to stay awake and appreciate it but it wasn't easy--and the play (new revived edition) was great---the two leads were the broadway original leads---dancing was spectacular.
Sue, know you will check in occasionally---did the British couple take the cruise, too?
WEather here has been awesome--but next week is predicted to go to 100---a big jump---which means we would skip the gradual climb through the 80's and 90's and it will feel so hot---it's been such a nice spring but I knew when it changed it would be really hot. Last year was our hottest average days in history.
Busy week---dentist today for Jordan--gets braces started today. Tomorrow dental at 8 am for me, gym, and then a massage at 3:30 and book club in evening (not here), Thursday I am scheduled for a facial but think I'll cancel as our party for yoga teacher is Friday at 6 and I've really got to do some work to get ready. We did yard work all weekend (Fri, Sat) but I need to deadhead iris Thursday and clean up a few more things plus line up plans for tables and clean chairs and plan for drinks--soft drinks, waters, tea, etc. I need to go pick up some table cloths (plastic) and paper products for the pot luck.
I started a new book that I read about in NYTimes Sunday book reviews. It is really good and really ominous---it is about the loss of the middle class in America and the affect on our constitution -- the part I am in now so coincides with the bio on Hamilton because of course, it is all about the founding fathers' concept and the development of our constitution. This is a different sort of book for me---economics and history. The writing is good though--not textbook like.
Body sculpt class was so good yesterday---did my 2 mi walk and then dance---figured out on Mondays doing that I do get in 10,000 steps by 11:30--I need to add the walking into my other days. Have not managed to do that yet.
Holly, hope getting back to work is a positive this week for you.
JoAnne, do you feel any effects of the iron infusion? Is it a shot?

Joan - how is your leg? Spider bites can be quite bad. We are famous around here (the South) for the Brown Recluse spider which can cause loss of limbs! Watch it carefully and go to the doc if it continues to get worse.
I do feel a little better. Was able to get out this morning and do some pruning. It is an intravenous infusion that takes about an hour to get. Next one is next Monday.
Today I had GI appt. and I am now lined up for an endoscopy and colonoscopy for May 2. UCK!
Had taken my car back in for the sunroof yesterday and got it back today after the GI appt. They lent me a car this time. Nice to have that finished. Afterward I voted. We had a special election for U.S. Congress and State Congress. I am tired now.
Got home right before DH's Men's group met at our house. So after they leave, we will go to a little Italian place around the corner for dinner. My appetite is better too since the infusion.
Temps of 100 are really a jump! Glad it won't be that hot here yet. I am really enjoying the Spring weather.

Hi all,
I am reading The Book of Joy about the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. It is good, but I have been so distracted lately that I can barely focus. Tends to happen at this point in the semester.
Tomorrow I am using my birthday day off (it has to be used in my birthday month) to go to my church circle meeting and lunch. I really enjoy being a part of that group. I'm making a greek pasta salad that I found on Pinterest.
JoJo, glad you are feeling better. Yes, April has been nice so far. Hopefully it won't get too hot too quickly.
Joan, I'm scheduled for a facial and eyebrow wax on May 1st. I have been on hiatus since the basal cell procedure. Looking forward to it because it definitely makes a difference.

Dental cleaning this morning--no cavaties---however, they could not find a problem that would cause my jaw pain---want me to see the implant dr. And see if something could be bothering my sinus--but my dr. Also thinks it may be jaw related---the jaw joint on that side acts a bit different that the other side. He wants me to stay away from hard to Chew food for a while--no more raw carrots for example.
Hit TJ's early and then did yoga and weights class. Now must get ready to go to my massage---cannot wait---really have a knot under one shoulder blade after reaching the wrong way the other night at the play.
Book club cancellations---now down to six for tonight which is okay but still--a lot of work for the hostesses for only six.
One of Jordan's brackets came off hours after leaving the orthodontist yesterday ( he got braces on the top first) so have another appt. for next Tuesday to glue it back---wishing I could get him somewhere to glue it on before than---poor guy was hurting too bad to go to school this morning. I told him to stay on Advil--hope he did as I knew he'd be having a heck of a headache today.
Beautiful and not windy today!
Holly, I still sort of want to get my eyebrows tatooed so that they wouldn't require any pencil to look completely even---have not had any waxing or plucking on them in forever as I was trying to have them grow in as much as possible---I had plucked them back to far at the center points---well, someone did---probably from waxing them years ago.
Have not done a good job cooking this week--we ate at Panera's last night cause I got home so late from Jordan's dental appt. Tonight won't be cooking. Monday night we ate leftovers.

Just finished dinner---made chicken and mushrooms, onions and tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes with sun dried tomato ravioli. Yoga today---teacher was sick (OMg, her party is tomorrow night here!) and the gal taking over the class in a few weeks subbed---it was not very good---I have to work at not judging it too harshly and give her a chance but I was actually suprised because I thought she'd be better than what she showed today---was weird--very few verbal cues for people---if someone new had come they wouldn't have had a clue what to do without watching the rest of us---that's the way gym classes work but ours has not been that way -- hoping she gets better.
I made salsa for tomorrow night and went and bought paper products and table cloths for outside---we will be on the patio using DHs new lights.
