No surprise. I see it in my neighborhood, on the FB pages of others, etc etc etc. What is WRONG with people---do they truly believe their own magical thinking? Are they all wearing their "DOES NOT APPLY TO ME" tee shirts? Are they truly blind to what is going on around them?? Someone we know went out to dinner at a "packed" restaurant with about 20 members of their family to celebrate their mother's 80th birthday. That was last week and no news on anyone coming down with COVID yet.

That was last week and no news on anyone coming down with COVID yet. I have friends in the Austin area who are all upset because their traditional family Thanksgiving get-together in Virginia has been canceled by other family members. They were all set to book flights and head on up for a mega-gathering. They have been holding backyard festivities with "close friends" all summer long. The wife is a teacher, acting all concerned about going back to in-person classes. I really have to wonder why when they've been hosting parties for months, complete with piles of kids.

I am astounded on a daily basis by the sheer STUPIDITY of people in this country! I went downtown Saturday evening, did a drive by to drop off a job for someone and was appalled at how many 20-somethings were whizzing around town on scooters, no masks, bars appeared to have plenty of people in them as I cruised past, the voice noise level was LOUD so they probably had no masks on. I mean WTF is wrong with people?!? Thanksgiving is going to be awful, because people are continuing to travel. I just can't with the stupidity and the lack of caring for others.

I have a close friend who I sometimes think is nuts. She emailed me awhile ago all concerned because she thought the thermometer our hairdresser uses was one they run across your forehead and she didn't think they were cleaning it between clients. Yet, she is perfectly willing to go out to dinner with her husband, get on a plane to fly to California to see her sister, and hold a garage sale at her house. I told her I thought her priorities were a bit off.
