It has been a restless night and I couldnāt fall back asleep after trip to bathroom and donāt feel like being productive around the house. So Good Morning, Chicksters.
Itās National Pickle Day today. How do pickles enjoy a day out? They relish it.
Sunday is National Clean Out your Refrigerator Day. That is every Wednesday here. What we need is a clean out your freezer day.

We got dressed and drove to YS and realized we didnāt really āneedā any veggies. We needed to get out of the house, so we drove to Starbuckās and picked up some hot tea and a breakfast sandwich and headed home. We had a nice drive both ways though. It was a pretty sunrise.
Iggy is planning on grilling later today when it warms up. Our high is supposed to be around 50Ā°. We have his chicken and eggplant, zucchini, onions and tomatoes to go on the grill.
Have a great day. BBL. The chef is bellowing.

Thanks for the start, Chele, Happy Pickle Day to you as well. As you said, relish it! Sorry you couldn't get back to sleep. Maybe you can nap this afternoon to make up for it. I'm sure the trip to YS helped. What did you have on your breakfast sandwich? Were you able to get your favorite Teavana variety at Starbucks? LOL on not "needing" any veggies. Happy grilling to Chef Iggy! Menu sounds good.
Linda, I hadn't thought to look on Amazon for the Armstrong when I needed it. I gave up and started using Norwex cleaning tools that don't require any additional cleaners (just water). What did you find out on your car? I loved the pup cartoon. The 2 dogs on the left have some basset in them. All 5 of them are clearly partners in crime. You have had quite a week! Hope you can relax this weekend. Treat yourself to a new sweater from Talbots. Can you flip the electric blanket over, or does he like the heat as well. We have the same kind of switch behind the bed and in cold weather, I flip the switch on before bed and off when I get up so the heated mattress pad is not hooked up to power during the day. What about getting a heated mattress pad instead? They are designed to have things (bodies) laying on top of them. I got a new one from Kohl's last year when ours went out and the technology is so much better in them now.
Hate that you have humdity again, Kathy, but good that the rain has moved out and that you didn't get hit as bad as the west coast. My cousin in Cape Coral has posted a bunch of photos from there. They had damage to one screen but that was it. I have a friend working in Honduras who got evacuated for the second time due to hurricanes, this time from Iota. She is on her way to Raleigh to stay with one of our mutual friends. What's on your football schedule today? Both Clemson and Texas have bye weeks, TN got canceled due to Texas A&M covid, so it's just Michigan and I'm not expecting much there, being that they are playing Wisconsin. That's a lot of eggs! Will you freeze some to bake with? It's odd how there seems to be one substitute item a week.
Becky, sometimes that Texas rugged individualism can lead people to do things that are not in their best interests. I don't see shut downs happening anywhere. But did you see that the west coast states are implementing 2-week quarantines for people traving from out of state or from another country? El Paso County sounds like a real mess. But did you hear the latest conspiracy theory that they are using the freezer trucks not to store bodies, but to store ice cream? Is it any wonder people don't get it when others are spreading that kind of nonsense? Are you getting the IT Band to loosen up any? Those 18 eggs don't last you and Kenneth long. Arya and I go through about a dozen per week.
Hope you got your Saturday errands run, Liz. How are things with Zoe? How is Chef doing?
Denise, are you off for the weekend? How cold was it for you this morning?
Dale went to run at the state park trails this morning and I had a coupon for nachos at Salsarita's so, he picked up our usual after this run and is now heading home. I changed the bed and have the sheets in the dryer. I also made a batch of savory oats for this week. Arya had a little incident while I was making her breakfast. She was on the couch and started to scratch then stopped. When I called her for breakfast, I heard something metal hit the floor. She had apparently gotten a toe nail caught in one of the rings attaching her tags to her collar. The ring is mangled beyond repair. She also took a little chunk of fur and skin next to her ear. I couldn't believe she didn't yelp or whine. I found a gizmo on Etsy that I can put her tags in (she has 4--ID, rescue, Home Again, and rabies) that wraps around her collar and fastens, so no rings to get tangled in. I hope her wound doesn't itch too badly when it begins to heal or I may have to pull out the inflatable "donut of shame" and she will hate that. Happy Weekend, Chicks!

Chele, hope you relished Pickle Day. Sounds like a nice drive and lunch even if you didn't need veggies. It's good to get out some. Wow, your temps really dropped. Still in the 80s today, but it's cooled off to a balmy 75 now. Humidity is 86%! Karen, glad your friend didn't have too much damage. This has been a crazy season for storms. Baking? What's that? It's a fresh carton, so it will last a few weeks. I'll hard boil some and use the rest for breakfasts. That is a bizarre incident for Arya. Hope you don't have to get out the donut of shame.
Waving to everyone. Enjoy your evening.

Thanks for the start Chele. It sounds like you had a nice outing even if you didn't need any veggies.50 degrees doesn't sound like a warmup to me.We have a cool front coming in tomorrow and our low will be in the 50's.
Linda Sorry your electric blanket went out.I haven't had one in years.I use a quilt on the recliner when I get too cold.I looked at that link and there's no way I would pay $200 a pair for those slippers.I'm glad your car is quieter anyway.Your tree is pretty.I miss being able to put one up.I can see one being wrecked by both cats.
Karen I was reading a headline on my news feed on my phone and it said despite TX having so many cases no plans to do anything about it.I had not heard about that conspiracy theory. That is so stupid. The IT band is loosening some in the thigh area but is tighter below the side of the knee.I hope Arya isn't hurting.I cannot keep a cone on Scooter. I bought a small bed at WM today that can be used for a small puppy or cat.I figured the cats would fight over it.At first neither one paid any attention to it but Marcy has decided it is hers.I finally put it on the floor in front of Marcy's cardboard box and now she loves it.

Instead of a cone, there is an inflatable ring that attaches to collar..much more manageable and keeps them from getting at body parts.. Micki does not mind it. I have also used a tightly folded towel taped to put around the neck, just enough to keep head from bending to trouble.
I wouldn't buy those slippers either but fun to look at.
DSIL has four cats and they have no interest in the trees! Is there a pedestal or high place they cannot get to? These trees are only 12-18 inches. Lights are nice ...so pretty even with no ornaments to knock off.

Linda, I hope the car remains humming along silently. That happened tk me when I first got the Terrain. I heard this clunk in the back when I started the car. Took it in and they said āNo clunk here.ā Miraculously, it went away. I suspect they fixed something and just didnāt want to tell me what. Sorry about your electric blanket. I cannot relate as I sleep with a throw blanket in the winter so my feet can stick out and I donāt overheat. Nice tree. I also put up a tiny tree bit the lights go on the mantel. I tie a piece of ribbon into a bow for the tree topper. Love, love those slippers.
Karen, Starbucks has a spinach and feta sandwich that is pretty good. They donāt carry the Dragon yellow tea I loved, so I had to settle for white tea. My BIL used to work in Honduras. He loved it. Glad your friend got out safely. I didnāt know you could freeze eggs in the shell. Oh, poor, Arya. That sounds painful. How is she doing today?
Yikes, Kathy. 86% is high humidity indeed. We reached 53Ā° for a high yesterday and it only cooled off to 50Ā° overnight, so it is a bit warmer this morning and will be in upper 50s. It is rainy and windy today. I buy the 18 pack all the time because it is a lot cheaper. They do last a few weeks.
Becky, I hope the cooler temps donāt aggravate your knees even more. I hope Marcie is enjoying her new bed.
Liz, I hope you have been able to get some rest despite having to get up with Zoe. How are the B12 shots going? Have you seen the chef lately? How is DSM amd the rest of the family doing?
Denise, what have you been up to this weekend?
It is laundry day here. Nuff said. Have a great Sunday.

I have to have a throw over the foot of the bed because my feet get cold! Ever since menopause the top of me overheats against pillows!
yes, where are you, Denise?
How us Arya?
Going for a lazy Sunday here.
I can pick up the thing plastic painters drops on the way back from my Dr checkup tomorrow...going to cover furniture in rooms with closets being done. Then I will not have to disinfect stuff or dust it all after they pull up carpet.

Kathy, I hate that you and DM did not get to go to the funeral. I guess you had a split day on the gridiron. cCongrats to UFC and sorry about FSU. Michigan was the disaster I thought it would be. They didn't even score until the 3rd quarter, and that was the only quarter they scored in. Interceptions on the first 2 offensive possessions really put the Blue into a hole. Been that way all season. Any wildlife activity on the pond or in the 'hood lately?
Those slippers are cute, Linda, but Arya steps on my feet frequently enough that I don't need to wear replicas of her on them. The "donut of shame" is actually one of the rings you described. She has never had to deal with it but, as much as she hates anything different, I don't imagine she would be fond of it. She doesn't seem to be in pain from her boo-boo. Really odd on the car. But how many times do we take them in and it's no longer making the noise? I think it's happened to all of us. I hope you never hear the noise again. You're right about things not being made as well today as they once were. Everything is disposable and our landfills are bursting at the seams. Congrats on the isopropyl alcohol score. Two large bottles should last you a while. I hadn't seen the Dove hand sanitizer. I'm allergic to something in their soap, but the extra moisturizer would be really nice. I went a couple of months without being able to use alcohol-based sanitizer, so now that I can again, I usually put on moisturizer after I sanitize. It would be nice to be able to do both in the same step. I'm rather curious about the concept in "Pottering" about "spontaneously doing a small household task because you feel like it at the moment". I never feel like doing any household task spontaneously. Quite the oppositeš. Sorry about the š topper. Tree looks nice. Guess the short cord needed assistance from the cord you had attached to the electric blanket that is no longer fully functional. Good luck at the doc tomorrow.
Chele, I don't think you can freeze š„ in their shells. Most of what I have seen about freezing whole eggs is to oil ice cube trays and break a whole egg into the sections of the trays. The spinach/feta sandwich sounds good. What kind of bread/bun do they put it on? Are you expecting a cold front with that wind and rain you are supposed to get today? We have a front moving through and have had 30+mph winds and rain squalls moving through over the last couple of hours. We started out in the 60s and it has dropped about 10 degrees so far, toward our morning low in the 30s. Looks like a snow sky right now, but it's too warm. Laundry on the agenda here as well. Workout clothes are the usual Sunday thing, but Dale is unpacking boxes downstairs (it's only taken him nearly 5 years to get his stuff unpacked and on shelvesš) and we used a lot of sweats as packing material. They are in the washer and, with temps turning cooler, we may need them. Some of what we have been wearing is about worn out, so it will be nice to have ones that are in better shape without having to buy more.
Yay on Marcy choosing the new bed instead of the cardboard box, Becky. Has KK taken up with the new bed yet? I would love to get something like that for Arya, but she seems to have no interest in those kinds of things and, in fact, runs the other way when I get out one of the cushions that Phoebe loved. The IT Band seems to be making a little progress. It's a long structure, so it can take a while to get the entire thing back to its happy place. There are times when Arya snuggles up to the part below my left knee and just that little bit of pressure can be very painful. I think Arya's wound is hurting me more than her. I was really careful taking off her Martingale collar before bed (it slips off over her ears and head). It seems to be just about healed except for the missing fur. I wish I healed so quickly.
How are your weekends going, Liz and Denise?
Our girl let us sleep until almost 7 this morning. I've done a few lectures from the Mother Earth News Fair in addition to the laundry. I'm making a pear cobbler with some of the fruit we got in our Misfits Market box. Dale is fixing some of his veggies from the box right now. I have Salsarita's leftovers for dinner and will probably do some roasted golden beets and will also be trying a roasted red cabbage recipe this week.

One of those bottles is to mix with water to spray on the seven bookcases after the guys leave Thursday, then wipe off and Polish after it dries....looked Up best way to disinfect wood furniture. Most people do not realize you get no benefit from wiles kr spray if you wipe it dry right away.

Linda We have a bookcase that's almost 8 feet tall and Marcy can still jump up on top of it.These 2 cats are so playful I don't think they would do well with even a small tree.
Thanks Chele.I don't think it's the cooler weather that has aggravated my knees. It was more than likely the wind when I was walking outside. It was funny with the cat bed yesterday.Only Marcy would use it.Today I looked over there and Kit Kat was on it.So far no fighting over it except Scooter chases whoever is on it off.
Karen It sounds like we had the same weather especially the 30+ MPH winds.KK did decide to get in the bed today. The IT band made a U-turn today. However it's also hurting on the left side of the knee and I don't know what that is from. I have iced and used the heating pad both today.
Waves to all.
