Thanks for the start, Karen. Did you get to sleep in today? How was the pear cobbler? How is the Arya bob boo today? What did you learn from Mother Earth? It's a good thing your GF left Honduras. I just read the storm is now a Cat 5.
Linda, thanks for the freezing eggs link. Yes, we are being very careful. My GF’s granddaughter had COVID, her son’s boss and wife and 3 of his co workers as well. She still goes to his house for Sunday dinner despite her digestive and heart problems. Ohio had a 50% increase in cases reported over the weekend and yet there is still resistance to more stringent methods of reducing exposure. I guess we are in survival of the fittest mode.
Kathy, did you see any of the Space X launch? I am glad it all went well. Next stop, ISS. Speaking of aerospace, how's your nephew doing in his studies?
Becky, maybe the two kitties will share the bed? I would expect no less from Scooter than chasing the kitties. 😁 Did you get in a walk today?
I went to Opthamologist #1. He was ready to call my high eye pressure glaucoma. The drops are keeping the pressure within the high part of normal parameters. Good news: the drops are working. Bad news: the drops are forever. Friday I go in for node check. The PF is good one day and a pain the next but it was that way the first bout I had. If I wear thick cushioned socks and my walking shoes with the laces tied tight the pain diminishes significantly while walking.
Liz, Denise have a good day at work.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Chele - pickle day sounded good but I am such a pain about finding good pickles that I frustrate myself. The news on the eye seems good or at least better! No glaucoma is a good thing, drops forever are a pain but I get it. I'm glad you enjoyed your drive with Iggy over the weekend. SM is alright but waning in the dementia which I am sure is exacerbated by very limited or no visitors now. When I called her for her birthday the end of Oct., she thought I was my sister. I sent her a lovely fall flower basket but never heard anything one way or the other. Zoe is in tough shape, God bless my dog walker who took a urine sample from her today and dropped it off at the vet. It has been a monstrously challenging 5 days of being up and out with her overnight, her being anxious and manic and then having accidents again all over the house. I am hoping if it is a bad UTI that we can get some meds and get her on her way to feeling better. Work is crazy, too many cases coming in and exposures happening even within the hospital. How is Iggy doing? How is he feeling now? Kathy - I did notice just a bit of panic buying at the grocery store yesterday with the paper products. There was plenty hand sanitizer and soap for now. I went to Walmart on Saturday and that was like something out of a bad C movie; people had a bad argument that almost became physical in the store and then when I left there were 3 women literally fist fighting outside the store. Needless to say I was "outta there"! People are just flipping nuts! I drove myself crazy trying to find Kevita Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic for Gary, 3 different stores, checking online only to find out yesterday that my own grocery store had it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! How is mom and the rest of the family doing? Who is cooking for Thanksgiving? Becky - sorry that you're still having the pain and discomfort. It's ironic about the Christmas trees as for so decades we had big beautiful real trees in our living room. The dogs never bothered them and it was great but Wally boy is a different matter so we're back to buying table top real trees and keeping them up in the loft. I could just picture the kitties doing nose dives off a tree and then batting ornaments all over . Linda - your tree looked lovely and festive. Sounds like you've got more than your share of projects going on right now. Hope all goes well with the car and the phantom monster noises. Contending with mass transit and stupid people as usual here in NYC. Jersey is actually worse than us right now. My poor DN has been drafted back into the ICU from Stat Flight due to 70+ Covid positive cases just in her hospital. It's certainly spiking up again. With people being tired and angry, I'm thinking the holidays will bring more cases since folks seem to not want to follow small gatherings and social distancing ! How is Micki doing? Karen - how is Arya after that fairly freak accident? I've been continuing to take Wally to the park on the weekends to acclimate him and let him have some sniffing fun time. Zoe is not well right now. We'll see what the vet says after the lab work on the urine sample. I spoke to my sister and we will not be seeing them for Thanksgiving or Christmas with things as they are. We all agreed it is too dangerous to chance it. I'm buying the presents now and will pack and send them as soon as I have them finished. I am hoping to take Thanksgiving week off and just try to remember I am human again. I did get the errands run on Saturday and managed to grocery shop and get to the dog food store as well yesterday. How have you been feeling? Did you enjoy the Salsarita goodies? I'm fairly certain my stress level is going into the ionosphere but I guess what else is new? All this and Performance Appraisals, oh goodie! Alright dear ladies, I am going to get as I have a rather important IT call coming up shortly. Please take care of yourselves and STAY SAFE! The numbers are crazy and so are people!! Be well and miss you all. Hope all is well with Denise/Moonriver. Ciao for now~

Chele, sorry about the diagnosis and that the drops are forever (but at least they are working). What kind of thick socks are you using that are helping with the PF? That stuff is so stubborn to get under control. My friend who evacuated is extremely level-headed. Before she transferred to Honduras, she worked in Qatar, so she is very familiar with risk management. I saw that Iota strengthened to a Cat 5, which wasn't supposed to happen. But it's 2020.
Were you able to see the SpaceX launch, Kathy? Was the postponement due to weather? Will you be able to see the meteor shower tonight?
Liz, good to hear from you. I hate to hear about poor Zoe. Nice that the dog walker was able to help out. Fingers and paws crossed here that it's a UTI. I hate you're having to go through that with everything else going on. I did hear this morning from your mayor that the NYC positivity rate is 2.77%. Our is over 12% with more than 5800 new cases today, so things are bad here. We're staying out of the fray as much as possible. You're probably right on SM and the effects of isolation. A MG friend is going to IN to bring her 90 year old DF to stay with her through the holidays for the same reason. I hate you won't be getting together with DS and family for the holidays, but probably safest for everyone. Hope the IT call went well. OMG on your WM trip and the parking lot fight! People really are losing it right now. Arya seems to be fine after her incident. She is still missing a little fur, however. I hope you can get next week off. Heaven knows you deserve to feel human again. Salsarita's was good, as usual. But I have been dividing my entree in half and will take it into thirds next time and still have plenty. It's performance appraisal time already?? How time flies!
How are you feeling today, Becky? How cold did you get this morning? It's good that you don't think the cold weather is causing you problems. Are the kitties peacefully coexisting on the new bed?
Linda, did the doctor's appointment go ok? I hope the rest of the day was relatively quiet, compared to how things have been for you lately. Does the new flooring get installed later this week?
Are you back to work tonight, Denise?
Busy day here. House is cleaned, towels and rugs are washed, turkey is cooked for Arya's dinners and oats for her breakfasts, my mushrooms for the week are sauted, and I'm ready for 2 MG meetings this evening and have been on the phone several times about that. We only have 2 weeks until the awards are given out and then we start planning for next year.

Liz, great to hear from you. I am sorry about Zoe not feeling well. I hope the tests will show something fairly simple to mend. Not good news about SM. It is hard on those in senior living centers not being able to see family. Your poor niece. I hope both of you can hang in there with the increasing numbers. We will not be seeing family for the holidays. It is a good thing we are self sufficient.
I must not have explained myself well. The ophthalmologist said I do have glaucoma since the numbers are on the high end of normal with the drops. He was hoping it was steroid induced high eye pressure.

Karen, the socks are Smart Wool. They have some compression to them so that helps. Have fun at the MG meetings.

Chele, sorry to hear that. I hear good things about Bomba socks but never had any.
Liz, fingers crossed for Zoe and you at work. We never go to Walmart...I saw enough bad behavior while teaching in city high school with almost 3000 students...parents kind of explain it when you meet them...nuts do not fall far from the tree.
Karen, how is the wounded one..?
not as bad here as other places but rising. Weather we can be outside in helps. Mask mandates too. I so want the flooring people out of my house before things go really bad.Thursday for closets and one room and 11/30 for kitchen, bath and laundry.things were ok when we ordered this in mid Oct.
Supposed to be simple day....not lately. Early Dr check up with ekg...pronounced healthy. Dropped mail, zipped in and out at TJs for thing I forget, six of them. Got lots of flimsy plastic sheeting drop cloths at ACE.
The other dr there got COVID in Feb when we hardly heard about it. He was in hospital on heart lung machine finally with 5% chance to live....recovered, had to learn to walk and talk again. He is finally back at work, but in Canada in his hometown. The rest of the office also got it and shut down for a month. All these people are young and fit, both docs in 40s. The nurse says she will always be short of breath even though she was not bad enough for hospital...lung damage. They all say it was a bad experience.
got home and called for curbside pickup on a Talbots order way over in Mesa. DH kindly drive the freeway. They were busy snd did not pick up the phone. Had to go in...waited outside quite a while.DH wanted Mc Donald’s on the way home...small burger not bad..Micki got one.
We got home and get called for appt for Micki tests...fortunately Friday afternoon. I called to see if the toilets had come in...yes, one left. What? No credit cards on phone. Back in car to the industrial part of Mesa to big plumbing supply...customers' noses hanging out of masks to avoid. Paid for it and delivery tomorrow...apologized we were not getting it today in two hours! Got out of there fast.
DH wanted Krispy Kreme since it was not that far and has been craving it for weeks...almost hime...by now 3:00 and not wanting to cook. So we stopped at Sicilian place for two pizza slices for supper later.
Then it was find a place in the garage full of stocked up paper products, mower, etc to put the toilet until install 11/30. Gate people called ..coming for measurements tomorrow morning...probably when toilet will arrive! Tomorrow pm I have dentist.
Boy does it feel good to sit down with newspaper, donut and coffee.

Liz, beautiful picture in your avatar. So sorry to hear that Zoe isn't doing well and hope they can find something to help. Every time I've ever been in a Walmart I swear it's the last time! I haven't been to one in years, but have ordered from them online. I can picture the crazy scene and I would've left too. I just exchanged some groceries with DM today and she's doing fine. DS and DBIL have been taking their new toy (the camper van) out for some short trips. I'm jealous of being able to do that, but 3 would definitely be a crowd in there! I don't think anyone is cooking anything big for Thanksgiving this year. We may eat outside at DS's place, but I don't think that's definite yet. She has a large pool deck, so that would be okay if we have good weather. Oh no on Performance Appraisals coming up. That's one thing about working I definitely do not miss. It's a shame we can't do our usual family get togethers this year, but hopefully next year will be better. Chele, I had a local TV station on last night and thought they would break in when the launch happened. Well, they didn't and I realized I'd missed it when I heard the rumble. We had some cloud cover here, so I doubt I would've seen much of it anyway. Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but that's good that the drops are working. My nephew is doing well. I wish he'd been able to get the job they offered him at the Space Center, but they cancelled it due to Covid. Karen, see my answer to Chele! I'm not sure on the postponement, but I know at least one of the launches was postponed when one of the hurricanes was out there. Hard to keep track with all the storms. I never have luck with the meteor showers here. Too much light pollution. Linda, we've been getting close to 90, but I think a front is supposed to cool us down a bit. It's been really warm for November.
Waving to Becky and Denise.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele The cat bed is not big enough for both of them at the same time. When one gets up the other one gets in it although I think KK chased Marcy out of it once today.I think I'm going to buy another one tomorrow since they are cheap.I walked this morning and afternoon. Our low was 30 degrees and by 9:15 it had warmed up to the 50's so I walked and this afternoon it was 75 and too beautiful to stay in so I walked again.I'm glad the drops are working but sorry you will have to use them forever.I'm sorry they decided it was glaucoma.
Liz I'm sorry Zoe is in tough shape.Yes on the cats.Marcy loves to jump on high places so she would probably jump up in the tree.I'm not sure all my pain is from the knee.Muscles are tight around it and my quads stay sore from walking.Covid is really making get togethers tough to handle.I guess we are lucky not to have any close family around to worry about having to say no to.I'm so glad you are taking Thanksgiving off.You need the rest.
Karen I'm really tired today so have laid back some this afternoon.I did take two walks because it was so beautiful. We got down to 30 but once the sun came out it warmed up nicely. The bed isn't big enough for both of them so only one can use it at a time.

.Depressed by episode three of the Crown and do not think I can watch any more of Diana’s misery after they moved her into the palace for safety like a bird in a lonely gilded cage and he off for six weeks not calling her but talking to his mistress. Her grandmother is an Olympic class B.
