Good morning everyone! sunrose49 - I hope you're doing well also. I'm hanging in! You can edit your posts - there is a button in the top right of each of your posts which says "edit." cj59 - the smoothie thief was back in action this morning. Yesterday, I told him that he was eating my breakfast and not to do it again. This morning he said he couldn't help it but that he "would try." I told him that if he wants one, he needs to tell me and I'll make extra, but that he can't let his mother go hungry! My day has unexpectedly opened up. So, I'm going to be trying to knock some things off my list. I'm hoping that I'll be able to leave a bit early today to get some groceries and do some Easter shopping, as I've not been able to do so despite my best efforts this week. I'm still trying my best to get back on track; it's slow. I'll go in for a quick weigh-in tomorrow (missed today because of meetings), but I can't have a meeting with my nutritionist, as she's unavailable. Still, I think it's helpful to check in. Hope everyone has a great, OP day!

Hello Everyone sunrose - Hope you had a nice walk. When you made Lifetime was WW using the Exchange program? I did that one too and liked it - also lost over 100 pounds on it, but gained that back wwlurker - Hope you can a full smoothie one day this week Also hope you were able to get your Easter shopping done. I'm sure it's a fun holiday for the children. I'm doing well today and staying on track. I was so hungry last night at bedtime, even though I had a good dinner. I think it was using so many of my points at lunch that did it. It's really too bad that restaurant food has so many points/calories. I can't imagine eating out like that very often.

Good morning everyone! cj59 - I agree that it's unfortunate that restaurant food is generally high-calorie. I would enjoy going out for good quality, reasonably portioned meals. hiker - welcome back! You seem to be doing very well! I finally got my full smoothie this morning. I caved and made extra for the kids. I had a very interesting experience this morning. I went for a quick WI because I missed my usual appointment yesterday. Usually when that happens, someone just weighs you and then leaves the results for your consultant. I ended up getting weighed by the founder of the program (my centre is the head office - there are franchises throughout the country). He's a pretty intimidating, large, bald bodybuilder type. The first thing he asked was to see my food journal - so it was clear that I wasn't going to just get a WI! I told him it wasn't a good week and he sat me down for a full session. He was very motivational and encouraging. He told me that he used to be significantly overweight, which I had no idea and never would have thought. I wasn't expecting any of it and his style was very different than I would have thought. I feel like I really needed that this morning and now I feel better about keeping on. I hope that everyone has a great, OP day!

Hello Everyone Hiker - Congratulations on the weight loss so far. Sounds like your mind is in the right place wwlurker - That is interesting about getting to meet with the founder of the program. I'm glad that was helpful and motivating to you. And you got your full smoothie today sunrose - Hope you are doing well today I'm doing alright. I knew I would be getting some high calorie (and some junky) foods today, so I tried to plan for them. Hopefully I won't see a gain from eating these foods, but if so I'll just deal with it. I feel like I have to be able to have some food like this sometimes and as long as I'm staying with my daily/weekly allowed, and not bingeing, I have to accept whether it will cause a gain or not.

Good morning
wwlurker that is so funny about the smoothie. My sister's grandkids do that. Thanks for the tip on editing my posts. What program are you doing if you don't mind me asking. That's great you got to meet with the head of the company.
hiker - congratulations on the weight loss!! I use to love to hike.
cj59 you are doing good. I'm not sure what the program was called when I made LT. At that time the tracker had a list of foods to eat like protein, dairy, fruit, veggies, etc. and you checked the box off. I was successful with that, but never felt like I could eat outside of those boxes. When they went to points I didn't like it at first, but then I think it made decisions easier.
Been getting my steps in. Went to a WW meeting yesterday, but did a no WI.

Happy Good Friday everyone! cj59 - I see him around all of the time but this is the first time we ever spoke. I was impressed because he had clearly been keeping an eye on me. Even without my file he knew that I had been around for a few months and that it was going slowly. It was just such a positive experience. I feel ready to keep going. I was just plugging along waiting for it to click back in. It was the kick I needed. sunrose49 - I am on a program called Simply for Life. It's a franchise but it started in my city with my centre. The centres are also health food stores, with options which are approved for the program. I love shopping there because all of the research has been done for me. They also have really good fresh meals prepared by the franchise owner in a nearby town. It's quite strict and is loosely based on the gi index. They give specifc meal plans and one on one counselling with either a dietician or a naturopath nutritionist. It's quite expensive (about $1,500 per year) but is covered by most health plans under naturopath/dietician. I have a great health plan which covers it almost entirely, so it's basically free for me. I have no excuse not to see it through. Also, I do quite love it. I feel so much better and have so much more energy since I've been on it, even if my losses are very slow. I did WW in 2009 (Momentum - the old points) and have tried it a few times since then (PP). I found that on WW, the quality of what I was eating wasn't there. I was getting myself into trouble by wasting my points and then starving and bingeing. The reset every week also wasn't conducive to a healthy mindset for me. A few people I knew had success with this program, and I was desperate, so I thought that I would give it a try. I'm so glad I did.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I'm glad to hear you are enjoying WW this time. I think Smart Points would be difficult for me because I do like to have some sweet things. Glad to hear you are getting your steps in too. wwlurker - Hope the program is going well for you today. I'm glad you feel recommitted to this program, it sounds like it's one that you can live with. I'm doing well today and staying on track. I'm happy to know that eating a few higher calorie foods yesterday didn't lead me to "bad" eating today. I really want to be able control my eating, but still eating food that is healthy for me and also some foods that are just for pleasure. That was part of my goal when I started back losing weight - to find a way to eat for the rest of my life. Hope you all have a good weekend!

wwlurker thanks for sharing the program information. I'll check it out. I've done so many different things over the past 6 years. Ideal Protein, Medifast, NutriSystem to name a few (well maybe those 3 were it..lol). I keep going back to WW. The one I did the best with was Ideal Protein. You eat their food (plus a certain amount of your own food daily). No alcohol, no sweets, etc. After losing 21 pounds I went on a cruise with some friends and never got back on it. I wish you luck it does sound really good.
cj59 giving up sweets in the beginning was really hard for me. I always wanted something sweet after I ate. I think I have finally broken that. I still have something sweet, but it is a small treat now.
Feeling tired today. Not sure what I will do, but I'll be moving. Still need to work on my tracking.

Hello Everyone sunrose - good for you breaking the sweet habit. I probably could if I put my mind to it, but I enjoy the few sweet things I have and if I'm successful at weight loss and maintenance eating those foods, I'm good with it wwlurker and hiker - hope you're doing well. I'm doing well to day and staying on track. I'm anxious to see my weight on Monday and I'm hoping I didn't gain so I have to lose a point. I need to work on a food plan for next week because I have several days where I know I'll be eating out and I wan tto be prepared.

cj59 I guess I was never really a big sweet eater. I enjoy my wine at night and then I snack too much. That's my big downfall. But I have found a few light sweets that help when I want it. I did buy some pudding (after you had mentioned it) and that is nice with fruit. You are doing so good!
wwlurker I checked out the website for the program you are following. It certainly looks healthy. Also looks like it is only offered up north.

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are enjoying the holiday (if you celebrate) and doing well on your plans sunrose - You're lucky not to care too much for sweets - they are just so full of empty calories. I've always had a sweet tooth I'm glad you enjoyed the pudding. Something I've done lately is take a Sugar Free Jello Vanilla Pudding cup and mix in pineapple and mandarin oranges (I use those small Dole or Del Monte Fruit cups). Sometimes I add some mini-marshmallows. This reminds me of Ambrosia and I enjoy it for my dessert after dinner. wwlurker and hiker - Hope you are doing well today. I'm doing well today and staying on track. I have my weigh-in tomorrow morning, so we'll see how week 2 went. I really need to spend some time working out a food plan for this next week. I want to be able to enjoy my meals out but stay within my points.

I am going to try "really" hard to track everything that goes in my mouth today. One day at a time.

Hi sunrose - Good luck with tracking. I know it's part of my success. Enjoy the Ambrosia, you could add a bunch of different fruits being on Smart Points. I had my weigh-in today and stayed the same weight, so I was happy. I'm glad I'm not having to change my points each week, I can imagine that would be frustrating. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans
