No yeast this morning but I am making a quick bread (baking powder instead of yeast).
Woke up with a headache that I presume is from the 20° temperature shift. I have done the bills and the bread is in the oven. I need to go to the CVS drive through and the outdoor mailbox at the office. Lunch is coming out of the freezer today. I am done for the day. 😅
Have a good day, All.

Is there a yeast shortage again?
Toto toilet coming sometime today to be installed with flooring after Thanksgiving.this is one of those that supposedly you could flush golf balls. Kind of wonder who decided to try that for an ad. All I can think of is the Wizard of Oz dog!
dentist later. Another possible 90 degrees.
After yesterday's trifecta of bad food choices, back to eggs or Cheerios, yogurt lunch here!

Linda, I’ll take 40° over 90° any day of the week. You guys need a cool down. Good luck at the dentist. Gosh, I hope your TOTO toilet can’t flush a small dog. Well, I guess that slogan would be “We can flush a golf ball...and your little dog, too.” 🤣
No yeast shortage that I know of. I am just trying something different, since I always make yeasted breads. This one is layered. Dough on the bottom, then sautéed onions then a sour cream and egg mixture. Iggy couldn’t wait for lunch to try it and he loved it. I think the crust got a little bit over baked, so next time 5 minutes less in the oven.
The sky was too cloudy to see the meteor shower but I did get a glimpse of Venus every now and again.

Here is the link to the recipe. It says to use a 9”x9” pan but all I had was 8”x8” and that worked fine. Grandma’s Onion Squares
Also I substituted olive oil for shortening.

Thanks.I printed it. Bob loves onion stuff.
read an astounding account going viral of nurse in Dakotas who is tired of having people yell at her that the virus is a hoax as they need intubation because they can't breathe. And some on mask ventilators complaining wrong diagnosis until they died. Holy cow.
Don't think yelling at your medical helpers is ever a good idea.
The guy who plays the Good Doc got COVID.
Pottering around today until dentist..gate guy came early. We moved desk drawers and smaller stuff out of the room for floor. Dog is like...do not block my sofa!
I cut the special rug pad..not that hard after all with good sharp fabric scissors...it is felt with special no slip backing. Hung it outside to air.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Sorry to hear about the weather-related headache. I woke up with a scratchy throat and some nasal congestion, so I guess that's how I'm reacting to the temperature change. Hope you're starting to feel better. No yeast bread being baked here, or any other bread for that matter. Your bread sounds good. How did it turn out? Thanks for the recipe.
Linda, thnks for the warning on The Crown. I'm on the last episode of Season 3 and then I'll be there. Did the toilet arrive safely? I don't think I've seen that commercial. How was the dentist appointment? I don't know if it was the same thing you saw, but I heard something about people who were in the hospital diagnosed with covid claiming covid was a hoax and they were sick with something else. Bless the hearts of medical staff--they put up with a lot. Didn't hear about the Good Doctor having it. He's only in his 20s, isn't he?
Sorry you didn't get to see the launch, Kathy. I saw a segment on our local news about Victor Glover, the Black astronaut. He seems like quite a guy. There is also a TN astronaut named, Butch Wilmore, who will be on a future flight. Has your weather moderated any? I hope you and DM will be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with DS/DBIL on their pool deck. It has to be really tough on college students who need to complete internships right now. I guess some of the health-related ones are continuing, but not many of the others.
Becky, how are you feeling today? Do you have a followup with the ortho? Did you get another kitty bed? Are they using both of them?
How is the week going, Liz? Will you be able to take off next week?
Denise, will you have extra days off for the holidays? What are your plans?
Gym wasn't very crowded this morning, which is a good thing given the way virus numbers are skyrocketing here. They had 386 new positives in Knox County and several more deaths We are barely through have the month and have already eclipsed the number of deaths there in a single month. I hope I can stay away from the germs when I go to Osteo Thursday. Statewide we were almost at 8K cases today and 13% positives. 99 new cases closer to home. Last night at the meeting our coordinator said that there was a confirmed positive in the office, so I'm very happy I didn't have to stop there on the way home last Thursday. We had 20 at the meeting last night, which is a record. Now I'm workng on a slide show for the awards event in a software program I've never used.

Karen, good luck with the new program. I agree that it was a good thing you did not stop at the office. The bread was good. Iggy liked it more than I did. Over baking the crust irked me. I ended up taking a migraine pill and a nap but the headache is gone. How is your congestion and throat?

Chele, thanks for the start. That bread sounds wonderful. We had a 15 degree shift from yesterday. I went outside to bring the trash bins in and it felt chilly! It's only 74 and sunny. You know it's been too hot for too long when 74 feels chilly. Hope the headache is gone by now.
Linda, I saw that about the people in South Dakota too. They believe all the misinformation on social media, cable news, and of course, the soon to be ex-president. Of all the things he's done, calling the virus a hoax and discouraging people from wearing masks has to be the worst. I haven't started Season 3 of The Crown yet. What they did to Diana was awful and to think she was only 19 at the time.
Karen, I will pay closer attention to the launch time next time! I probably didn't miss much due to the clouds though. It's definitely a hard time to try and start a career right now. It's a good thing that DN is still in school and hopefully, things will be improving next year. He does have a non-paying job assisting a professor in one of the engineering labs, so that's at least something to put on his resume. We're having a nice cool spell at the moment. It would be nice if we had this kind of weather for Thanksgiving. The numbers are scary everywhere right now. Our positivity rate had gone down to under 5%, but it's now inching up towards 10%. Orange County seems to be one of the hot spots right now and they just found 11 bars weren't complying with the rules. Of course, a few of them are right around here near the university.
Waving to everyone. Have a good evening.

Nice cool down, Kathy. I hope the trend holds so you can all safely gather outdoors for Thanksgiving. I follow NASA on Twitter and they have had some fantastic videos of the journey and arrival at the station. They also had a link to a calendar that is downloadable. science.nasa.gov/2021calendarOhio’s positivity rate is 12.8% and our county is at 3.2%. Gov Dewine just set a curfew starting Thursday from 10pm to 5am but police will not be actively pursuing curfew breakers. Any job experience, paid or not, will help DN in the future.

Wow on the rising numbers. Not so bad yet here.fingers crossed getting installers in and out of house twice before the surge from Thanksgiving gatherings and travel hits.snowbirds arriving from those northern hot spots and Canada
hope everyone has good Thanksgiving weather.
90 again here...historic.
Look ma, no cavities! Yea.
Got a few groceries much needed on the way home,,would have been nice if I had not lost the list! eye few people so I could slowly wander and try to remember.
Got home to an early Xmas gift from Bob's family...they want to share holidays and are concerned about us being alone. It is an Alexia with video screen to share phone call ! I am going to be figuring that out for a while. Wow.

Thanks for the start Chele.I hope your headache is better.Glad Iggy liked the bread.
Linda When will it ever cool down for y'all? We are expecting a few days in the lower 80's but hopefully no more 90's.
Karen I don't have a followup appointment until around the middle of next month.I think the 18th.I have felt some better today but my body has been so tired the last 2 days.I bought another bed and KK is sleeping in the new one and Marcy is sleeping on a cushion on the recumbent bike.Last time it took them a day to get used to it so I'll see.I may just have to put one in a different place in the LR.
Linda Nice early Christmas present.
