Good morning friends. Another night getting a good sleep. Very grateful.
Today I have a few odds and ends to do around here. Once that's done, we will decide what's next on the agenda. I got in a lot of steps yesterday and my foot is sore. I have a corn on my toe and will have to take it easy today with the walking. We'll see how that pans out.
The climbing numbers has me feeling anxious. Nothing I can do but to keep on doing what I have been....just with that others would do the same.
Waving...and will CBL...prayers continue.

Hi Ann - good morning to you!
I was up and at 'em bright and early for a Zoom WW call at 7:30 and a drop off for D&D at the groomers. I took advantage of their brief advantage from the house to do a little grocery shopping during a quiet time of day at S&S. I had five items on the list but came home with 5 bags. LOL I did see things I needed that are on sale so they won't be wasted! It's never ever a 5 item trip. DH has started stocking up on PT and TP again at BJs. It's like we can feel it coming sadly.
My haircut and color came out great. My WW Zoom group was giving me lots of compliments which was very sweet and gave me a boost! It is longer than I have had it in years and years, but I am liking having hair that hits my shoulders.
Ann, sorry about your corn on the toes. I have a bunion and other issues with feet so I commiserate. I find wearing my good athletic shoes helps. It's all about support and comfort. I've been wearing Brooks for years and they make a huge difference. Once you find a brand that works, it is worth it!
I finished up a lot of correspondence with the CA Bar Association attorney last night and DD will meet with her via Zoom individually tomorrow. It's nice to work with a lawyer you don't have to pay! lol I am so happy that she is diligently working on this and finds it very worthy of investigation. It gives the whole thing a stamp of legitimacy and worthy of the issues.
Have a great day all. It's about chilly in the low 40s. I will walk later on with D&D when they return if they are not too wiped out. Then, I'll go alone.

Pam, your grandkids are so lucky to have such FUN grandparents and I know it’s a mutual feeling. Abby cracks me up with her little quips and her comment about you being beaten by a 6 year old! Sophie says funny things too. I’ll ask her if she knows something, and she will say “Gram, I am JUST a child! How would I know that? ” LOL She makes me laugh and she is right! They are so wise and aware of their place. I’m glad you are active in your church activities while you have the opportunity and I know you missed them when the shutdown happened.
Yes, we were filled with despair and fear when Doug disappeared near sundown. What a little dope and rascal he can be. Clueless to danger. He would run right up to a coyote to greet him. I’m sure of it. We did get the heat fixed and it was a really simple fix. DH went to the basement and fiddled with it a bit and restarted it. It’s a mystery why it shuts off but not one we have to solve since it is tumbling down soon We had another issue with all the rain and a leak in the kitchen ceiling. Again – no new roof needed and no need to fix it. If we were not getting a new house in its place, this house would need SO much maintenance. It is a sweet house and has a very good feeling about it. It’s certainly livable, but not an easy one to maintain and in retirement, we don't want lots of issues! We just want a simple and easy life and house. I've never had a brand new home so we look forward to it being just ours.
Sue, I googled Hot Cocoa Bombs. Wow, that looks like something the kids would love but I had better stay away from. Someone talked about the new Chocolate Hummus so I bought a small container today to try it with apple slices. Not sure I will love it, but hey, I am willing to give it a shot. I'm anxious to hear how your reentry into the working world is going. I am sure you must feel tired.
Our university was on the news last night for the mass exodus from campus due to rising numbers. Smart move to keep. the kids safe.
Breakfast was a Bay's muffin with a little smoked salmon cream cheese on top. Lunch will be a salad and cup of soup. Dinner is going to be either chicken or tacos.
Ann, how do you inject the chicken to get it to pump up? Thanks!

Judy how true is that? ? I do go with a list...but things end up in my cart that aren't there just the same. It's all good, though, so long as it's stuff that you use. I check the sales flyer for Hannaford's but miss half the stuff LOL...so walking up and down the aisles helps. Our Hannaford's I have the luxury of doing that as it's not crowded. When it is (on occasion) I just get what I went in to get and call it a day. Your meals sound good. Yes also noticing the numbers rising and I'm sure the shelves will reflect that. I am set with TP and PP but will pick up more when we go out again. Just not today. We picked up an injector at BB&B years ago. I'm sure they sell them all over. It's a neat little gadget to have. Ours is so worn out no clue which brand it is LOL...I'm sure you can order from Amazon as well. Glad you are happy with your hair and had a good zoom meeting. I didn't go with Carl and LuLa to walk as when I was getting ready I suddenly felt 'off'. It's passing...and if I feel up to it, I'll walk later. I agree...its finding the 'right fit' in shoes that is the magic for your feet. TTFN......will CBL

Judy - The Cajun Injector is popular here and if you google, you will find all the marinades they also make. tinyurl.com/yyzj4thx. I am glad the CA Bar Association is taking your case seriously. What that attorney did is unconscionable. Yes, the things kids say just crack me up. You never know what is coming next as they have such a unique and innocent view of everything. Ann - I, too, am plagued with corns and calluses. I had one on the ball of my foot for a long time and finally conquered it with Mosco corn & callus remover and use of a Ped-egg. Now, I have one on the side of my second toe, facing my big toe, which curves that way. I am keeping it in check, but usually wear a bandaid on it when I walk. The amount of impulse buying we do was sharply curtailed when we started online shopping with curbside delivery. BUT, when I have to go in for 4-5 missing items, I come out with a dozen or so items, lol. Debbie and I walked this morning and then I had time to peruse the news on my iPad and eat a breakfast of scrambled eggs with turkey crumbles & cheese and a slice of toasted Dave's Killer Bread before heading to town for my cut and color. On the way there, my low tire light came on. Knowing we had been to the camp last week, where there are likely roofing nails all over the ground now from the damaged roof, I decided to stop and have things checked out, even though the light went off by the time I got to town. Luckily, it was just low air, probably from the cool snap we're having. I have just finished my lunch of gumbo and satsumas and am about to start on my lengthy to-do list. First order of business is to make gazpacho for dinner tonight, to go with Spanish rice, rellenos and chicken flautas. I learned from my elder DB today that his DDIL & DS have both had CV, but are doing well. The DDIL apparently caught it from her parents. Unfortunately, her father, who was fighting terminal cancer, did not survive. DB's eldest daughter is recovering from CV now, but only it felt like a sinus infection and she is scheduled to return to her teaching job on Thursday. I said when the news media started predicting future shortages, they would cause a run on certain items and that seems to be the case. Shelves are being emptied by people stock-piling again. I had trouble finding paper towels this week after Walmart said they were out of stock. I have plenty of TP to last as I now re-order when I have several rolls left, rather than waiting until we're down to one or two. Time to get something accomplished. Hope you are having a great day. Waving at Sue!

Hi again all, Pam and Ann, thanks for the recommendation for the injector. I'm going to check them out on Amazon. Pam, I agree that my impulse spending on groceries drops sharply when I stick to online orders. My DH is a much better, list oriented shopper. I enjoyed going through the empty store and I did get things we needed mostly. Sorry about your DB's family and the Covid. Really sorry about the elderly family member who passed away. The kids seem to do okay but once we, the vulnerable, get it, things change. I have not been watching much news lately. I'm newsed out! I was wiped out today at noon and felt I just needed to lie down. For some reason, though I slept fine, I felt so drained. I sat in the Lazy Boy for an hour at noon and fell asleep. That was a long nap, so I am a bit groggy but maybe a tea or afternoon coffee will pep me up a bit. I am off to pick up the little rascal Doug and his sweet sister. They will look and smell heavenly! Dinner is cooked. I didn't have the injector so I used the good old oven to roast the oven stuffer with baby potatoes, carrots and onions. I'll serve with cranberry sauce and I seasoned it all with a bit of butter, sage, savory, olive oil and garlic. It smells delish. I hope you both have a great rest of the day and waving to Sue!! TTFN..

LOL Carl usually follows the list .... and THEN some. But at least he will shop solo. My friends DH will NOT even go into a supermarket with her. That would royally pi$$ me off but to each his own. Pam so sorry to hear about your DB's family with CV. They shall remain in my prayers and please keep us posted. It makes it more real when it hits home. I got a call from my gyno doc and he had to reschedule me from tomorrow to January. I'm good with it. Actually I was thinking of cancelling out myself LOL...nice to know that we are on the same page I was feeling so dizzy earlier and 'off' now I'm starting to come around, but not going to do a thing for the rest of the day. Not that I've accomplished anything thus far. Every once in awhile it's good to just sit and be.....especially when not feeling up to par. I am so fortunate to have Carl that steps up to the plate. My toe is feeling a tad better. I plan on soaking it either tonight or tomorrow and will put another pad on it. The directions say to change it every 2 days...I took it off this morning and just letting it 'air out'. Both your meals sound delish. Sue hope all is going well with you. Check in when you get a chance. I am going to shut down now and just relax once again. Prayers continue and will see y'all tomorrow.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday!! I never got a chance to post yesterday. I slept very poorly Sunday night - upset tummy and strange vivid dreams!! DH said I talked a lot and he had to comfort me several times in the night. Consequently I woke feeling like I had been run over by a Mack truck!! But I had promised to go into work, so I got ready and went in. Fortunately today was a better day. I took it easy last night and went to bed early and consequently slept very well. Makes all the difference in the world!! Also a couple of shorter days has helped!!
Ann ~ Thanks for thinking about me at work. I really have missed being in the building and seeing all of our staff. The Head Start teachers are permitted to work either from school or home - until today when they sent down an edict to work at home (if at all possible). So Taylor will be doing that and I will be home. Not much to do for me right now. I thought about you yesterday when we were discussing pasta and I told Taylor about Instant Pot Spaghetti (Salty Marshmallow) and she printed the recipe and made it last night and loved it!! I also got a new recipe for homemade tomato soup in the IP from our Head Start keeper.
Judy ~ How scary about Doug jumping ship! LOL to Daisy being a girl and knowing better. I would say the same thing! Thanks for thinking about me on my first day back to work. Last Thursday I worked a long day and then Friday a short day. This week I made it two half days and I am now home for the weekend unless something comes up. So sad about your rising number! but we have the same thing. Everyone is tightening up. Our Health Dept has put a 3-week shut down in place with indoor dining and bars closed as well as movie theaters (are they really essential?) and gym (classes only). People are already grumbling!! So sorry, but we really need to stop this thing.
Pam ~ I just love, love, love the stories about your grandkids! What a hoot! You and your DH are fabulous grandparents and just what every kid deserves, but very few actually get. You are so wise to enjoy the heck out of them now because they certainly do grow up quickly. We had a little tear-fest today at school about our 'missing kiddos' as the building seems so empty without them!! I would give anything to be able to play a game or swing or just walk around with a little person!! So lonely!! I am planning to join them in Large Group meeting tomorrow morning on Zoom, however.
Today I had a morning meeting with our new principal. Different people have mixed feelings about her, but I hit it off very well with her. I was apprehensive about our meeting, until we sat down and I was completely at ease instantly. Our district passed a new rule today - no more than one person in a room. So we didn't meet in her office .... instead we went to a gathering area usually used by kiddos and parents .... and sat in two rocking chairs about 8 ft apart and talked for about 20-25 minutes. I was surprisingly at ease telling her about my current job (real one) at Stepanski, as well as my (13 year) history with the district (in a nut shell) then she asked me about my personal life and that was easy - hubby self-employed and we live in a condo in Waterford. Anyway, she had found from our outgoing principal that there was someone filling an unusual spot - and when I told her where I was working, she said "so, you're that one" and smiled. I can only guess the outgoing principal did a good build up on her way out the door. I asked the new one for only one thing ... please don't put me back on furlough. I hated being cut off from my school email and school website. I told her that since my regular job involves going from classroom to classroom (relieving teachers and assistants for lunch) I doubted very much we would be doing that until next school year. She assured me that if and when they fill the teaching assistant position that I am 'holding' right now, she will find me something else to do and I chose to believe her. Also she told me to continue to fill in a time sheet with my agreed-upon 8 hours a day 4 days a week - no problem. Yay!! Guess I can close my PUA account.
I have been learning so many new things at work this year. I will always be grateful for this opportunity. My teacher (Taylor) is the best and I have done so many new things, as well as our Head Start office staff. She is so grateful just to have someone there with her that when I do things she is thankful! She has taught me several new things, including Zoom. In fact after I got home today she texted me to get on Zoom and sent me a link and she and I chatted for a little while. We keep in touch pretty much constantly, so I don't feel bad about claiming a full day's work when I don't stay there that long. Now no one is, and if they did, we are prohibited from being together anyway. I came home at 1 yesterday and today (after eating lunch with Taylor for probably the last time). From now on she will be working from home. We will have to get together a couple of times to prepare materials and deliver them to the kiddos at home. But we delivered four weeks worth last Friday so we're all set for a while. Our next delivery won't be until the week after Thanksgiving.
This morning DH got up (even though it was early!) and made his scrambled EB with cheese and fruit bowl and Dave's Killer toast (for me). It was a great breakfast! I took a Sandwich Thin with XL ham on it for lunch and a Clementine. I am really in the mood for comfort food tonight so I'm making turkey in gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. YUM!!
I will have more time tomorrow because I don't plan to go into school. I have been going in by 8 which makes a really early morning for me!! But the next few days I won't be doing that. I'm glad I took advantage of this few days to spend time with my teachers because we don't know when we'll be back in the building again - and at least not for the next three weeks!
BBL. Make a great (rest of the) day!!

Sue - It was great that you and Taylor got to work together enough to get to know one another. That will make it easier to work together remotely. It also sounds like you made a reputation at Headstart---a good one! How nice that you and the new principal hit it off.All businesses that can possibly do it are continuing to pay their employees, even if hours are reduced. This will ensure those employees come back when work reopens, helps them survive financially and also helps the economy. A win for all involved. With Headstart being largely government-funded, what difference does it make if you get paid from them or from unemployment? I also found Zoom to be really easy if someone gives you the link to connect, though I wouldn't have a clue as to how to start a Zoom group.
Judy - I hope your unusual tiredness is nothing more than all the work you did at the Cape this weekend catching up with you. Take care of yourself and listen to your body just like Ann does. When it says rest, rest. Right Ann?

Sue awesome to hear from you and sounds like you are having a great time back at work. Wonderful getting along so well with the new gal and also Taylor. I can feel the excitement in your post.
Also great that you are getting good recipes and tips. Now when it snows you can have homemade tomato soup lol.
Pam yes, I always listen to my body and have ansolutely no guilt attached when I need to rest. It took me awhile to come to terms with it....and I'm happy that I have.
I feel a tad better. I'm happy I have the luxury of an agenderless day(s)
Sweet dreams. 🙏💤♥️
