Thanks for the start, June. I did read all posts just too tired to respond. Feeling a tad better and for that I'm grateful. Also happy that there isn't anything on my agenda for a few days.
I shall continue to PTMH and KOKO
Sweet dreams all ππ€β€

I hope to have the work project finished up by the week's end. When Igot home Tues evening DH had cooked a big pot of mustard greens! He knows how much I LOVE them and they were delicious! He also grilled some venison steak. Some popcorn ended the evening and I was a happy girl Zoom mtg lasted 30 mins. Wednesday...work continues. Should not have much on the agenda for the rest of the evenings this week. Doing a bit of online shopping to pick up a few gifts. Will have left over greens and some grilled chicken for protein. Not sure what else. June, thanks for the insights on the Covid. I know I've been more relaxed lately than I probably should but I've not waivered with hand washing and disinfecting surfaces. I wear my mask when in stores but have to admit during the days of visiting when Randy's mom passed I did not. A lot of that time was outdoors but a lot was not. Plus the fact that I'm at work everyday and so is my family. Very thankful that we are all well so far. I have some carrots to roast later this week Ann, I hope you feel better. Take it easy and don't over do.

Thanks for starting us June Ann - Red up. LaDonna - Glad the project is coming to an end. Glad you enjoyed the mustard greens. I have never even seen them, must less tried them. As for the restrictions, I probably straddle the middle of the line. When the science and scientists are so conflicted, when there is no way of verifying the accuracy of the numbers, when it is promoted more as a political epidemic than a medical one, I want unbiased information which I don't believe we are getting.

June, make it a good one.
Ann, rest as much as you need.
LaDonna, I am so jealous of the greens. Does Randy cook them with a liquor or dry? I eat them either way.
Susi, you have sure missed out if you never had greens with the liquor spooned over a crumbled piece of cornbread. True southern eats.
All is well here.
Praying it is a great day for all!

My East Texan husband loves collard, mustard or any kind of greens. We compromise with Swiss chard, which we grow year round. We also have kale which is tastier in soup or salad than cooked like the other greens. Just my opinion. How do you cook your greens depends on where you live and there are so many regional and state by state differences. Yesterday was pretty exhausting and I was so disappointed to find out the wrong motor was ordered for our heater so we are still without heat at that end of the house. It rained a lot last night and I am sure weβll have rain again soon. The good news was my oncologist said that after 18 years I probably will never need treatment for my low-grade lymphoma. When I first had it in 2002 studies were very limited and they predicted that after 20 years we could develop again but newer studies have proven that to be wrong. Today is the only day of the week that I can help Leo and Iβm also going to make a grocery list of items I will need for Thanksgiving. My girlfriend went to Costco yesterday.. on and said trying to get a package of toilet paper was very difficult .

Day 3 back on Core: 1 non-core food eaten and activity points covered it yesterday. Scale down 2.8 pounds this morning with four more to go before back at 174 and the lowest low this time around.
I can/will: walk 60 minutes, track food eaten, eat power foods and cover non-power foods with activity/weekly points, stay positive, hydrate.
I realized last night as I was getting into bed that I could visualize where I want to be in the future. I always make mini-goals by the decade of weight BUT last night just wanted to see myself below 180...and was thinking 179...please, please, please AND decided that was silly because I REALLY want to see 139 eventually or at least lower than 179. SO, I thought 169 and saw 178 this morning...not the original 179 I had contemplated. It was not 139 or 149 but it was lower than my first thought had led me to. So...I will see the progress I have made and where I am headed while perhaps stopping on the road to enjoy the sites while also still keeping in mind where I am heading. I just thought of a covered wagon train trip from Missouri to California with rivers to ford, mountains to climb, pretty prairies and perhaps deserts if the wrong trail is taken. Anyway...it won't be quick but progress forward is ongoing.
MJ: Sounds like you have achieved a lot in a day! If you ever need a "job" you can write a blog to help families dealing with Russ-Stuff problems! I know what you mean about the lines when shopping. I refuse to go into a shop that looks busy or has lines...just going to small village shops these days. Happy Birthday to your son!
ANN: Attitude is everything. I used to get so discouraged and a slip could become a slide...not any more...though it can still be discouraging but merely a bump in the road not a swift slide to the bottom of the hill again! Have you felt lightheaded in the past? Keep an eye on it!
SUSI: Thank you on the sodium being part of the problem...I think it may have been the wine after not having any in the house for awhile though it often causes a drop the first day? Whatever...nipped it and am on my way down again. Sorry your niece was being pissy...I understand how people worry about (or don't) following protocols and how they might not see that they are not always right in their actions/talk. I hope that it will all work out BUT if your being with friends at a distance is a problem...can always skip the trip to the niece's house? Hope the water heater inspection works out okay. I rely on my son-in-law's input on Covid-19 and hear that through my daughter...if/when I have a question. He has a PhD in biology with two post doctorates in virology...
JUNE: I am embracing the new wrinkles on my face and inn my arms...the decrease in fat stores losing over 20 pounds has made shows...in wrinkles I remember when my nephew got married his now-wife had wanted a BIG wedding but with the pandemic and the variations in mask use she was almost happy that they ended up with a very small siblings and parents only wedding as everyone was on the same page with socializing and wearing of masks. It is hard...and not everyone is on the same page.
AUDREY: Family can be hard sometimes...I am sorry it happened and hope something can be worked out. You had a BUSY morning! You do a lot more out and about than we do. I think perhaps not having health insurance or family here makes us a lot more cautious. I also don't trust the medical care in this country. What good news from the oncologist on the low-grade lymphoma!
LADONNA: I agree that a BIG leap on the scale is a great way to rein me in! Hope you found something tasty for dinner! I was wondering if you might consider planning your evening meals so that your lunch the next day was included in leftovers...seems you do well with breakfast and lunch but if dinner provided leftovers for lunch the next day... How is Lucy doing? How nice of your husband to have a tasty OP meal for you to eat when you got home!
BECKY: I hope that the decreased steps will improve your pain. Keep us posted.
BEE: When we have greens it is usually with lemon juice, chopped onions and olive oil OR with fried onions and sometimes bulgur added in. Never have had them with liquor.
Okay...I am off to walk my second 20 minutes.

Audrey, great report! I agree about kale and it's uses.
Cathy, the juice of the cooked greens has always been called the liquor. It may just be a southern thing.
And when I eat greens and cornbread I always add some pickled pepper juice.
Even if we're not to the goal weight there is life to be lived and enjoyed.
Love your pondering thoughts.
Did some research and it is called pot likker or pot liquor.
Wish I knew how to copy and paste on the phone. Interesting read about it.

Good morning
Ann Happy to hear that you feel better today. Have a pleasant day doing whatever strikes your fancy.
Audrey Terrific news from your oncologist! That's reassuring to have such a promising long-tern outlook.
Bee Glad to hear that all is well with you. My DH's family is from TN. Everyone of them would dig in to a mess of greens & cornbread made in a cast iron skillet. Sometimes summer dinner was greens w/ cornbread plus garden vegetables like onions & sliced tomatoes.
LaDonna Woot woot. . . Your dinner is what Richard would call "mighty fine!" So nice of Randy to surprise you. I think most of us are more relaxed. R & I are out and about more than we were in the Spring. And I do not clean with Clorox as much. Knowing what I know about the 1918 Flu, however, I did stock up on coffee & tea! Our essentials! TP is not an issue because I bought a cube at Sam's in summer.
Susi We probably also fall in the lower middle. My DB is on the high end. If he came for a visit, I would have found a reasonably safe way to see him like you did w/ your friends.
Are you Getting excited about lily's arrival?
Cathy The mind is the most powerful weight lose or management tool. How is your daughter holding up as the semester winds down? I confess that I am digging deep for the last burst of energy.
Waving hi and wishing everyone the very best! I need to head to the study & PC. Need to decide if it makes any sense going to campus without a confirmation.

Good morning all. I slept well...not long but I did wake up feeling refreshed. That's all that matters to me at this time. So far I feel better...the day will be planned around that. June I hope your day is a good one and that you can get some 'June time' in there. Thanks for your good thoughts and vibes. Much appreciated. Thanks Bee...I do plan to rest as much as I feel the need to. It's so wonderful having you back posting Prayers continue! Cathy again you are doing well and I love your attitude. You will see 174 again and then lower. You CAN and WILL do this. We are your cheerleaders Audrey happy that you had a good visit with your oncologist and that you got such wonderful news. I am not looking forward to the essentials being gone. Susi happy that you are 'middle of the road' and are comfortable with that. We all have to find our comfort zone, do what we need to do and live. I know, easier said than done! LaDonna happy to hear that the 'work project' is almost complete. I also ended the day with popcorn Waving and know that prayers continue. Will CBL

Also happy that there isn't anything on my agenda for a few days. I'm glad that you can take the time to feel better, without any outside commitments, Ann. I hope to have the work project finished up by the week's end. <fingers crossed> that you can go into Thanksgiving week thankful that the work project is OVER. As for the restrictions, I probably straddle the middle of the line. That's pretty much where Toots & I have been, but never yielding on the basic hygiene stuff (masks, hand washing, distance). The good news was my oncologist said that after 18 years I probably will never need treatment for my low-grade lymphoma. That's not just good news - that's GREAT news! Congratulations! Anyway...it won't be quick but progress forward is ongoing. The days will pass anyway... sounds like you've got good goals in mind no matter how long it takes. Even if we're not to the goal weight there is life to be lived and enjoyed. This. THIS. Need to decide if it makes any sense going to campus without a confirmation. <mmmmm>... perhaps a work-from-home-ALL-day is indicated...

Good morning, all!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid...
Our township announced yesterday that as of Monday 11/23 instead of going back to all-schools-hybrid they will instead go all-schools-virtual at least through 1/19/2021. That will get everyone through the holidays and hollyDaze, plus a 14-day-ish period after the season ends.
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
Today we are going to attempt to get Covid-19 tests at a no-appointment-needed location. If that doesn't work, we do have appointments for Saturday at 3 PM, 20 miles away.
As of now, we are still going to Woodloch for Thanksgiving. Son#2 had his family there last weekend and reports that they follow their hygiene protocols VERY strictly. They're operating at 50% capacity (he was not able to book Thanksgiving; our reservation was in place from last year). They are also very proactive about notifying guests about any updates to the rules that are already in place, and we're watching their website as well.
Other than that, I'm hoping for a day of Not Much ππ€£π although I will send DBabySis the November spreadsheet of π©Russπ©Billsπ© that have been paid, and get something over to John Hancock-LTC for his AL rent and "services".
Dinner will be beef pot roast; Toots is getting addicted to seeing it once a week.
Coffee's hot... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... good thing, since it's a cold morning in NJ...
ππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦π Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! ππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦π

Audrey - Great report Bee - Glad you continue to improve. I haven't given any of the others a try but the collard greens as served in Richmond did not do it for me. Maybe because I wasn't raised with it? Cathy - Visualizing is a great tool. You'll do what you need to do. We all need to do what we need to do to get through this. June - If you don't have to go, don't. MJ - Smart to get the tests before you go. Glad they are following protocol strictly. The home inspector is supposed to be here between 7:30 - 3:30. I brought work home in case it's the later end. If he is not here soon, I will have breakfast and go for WI tomorrow instead. Meals are planned and tracked. The paper bag tomatoes are ripening fast and furious. I have all the makings for a tomato ricotta tart that will use up some and lots of tomato sammy/salads over the next few days.

Happy to say that my day is both planned and tracked. Pork chops are on the menu for tonight...compliments of Carl doing them up on the grille MJ happy that protocol is being followed and that you will be spending Thanksgiving at Woodloch. Hope the home inspector is on time. If not, you have a good plan B in place, Susi. Nice that the tomatoes ripened up in the paper bag. Time to get a move on.....

MJ, quality resorts, restaurants etc. go to extremes to safely protect their clientele. I have a male friend who does a serious one week meditation retreat every year in the Sierras. There is no alcohol and no talking or devices such as cell phones iPads laptops. Yesterday the Wall street journal have the funniest article about people trying to replicate that at home.A child comes in wanting a shoelace tied while you were in meditation or the dog jumps on your body if you were lying down on the floor doing yoga. The funniest thing that was a comment by a woman who said she had no alcohol it was strict about everything she did but she did admit to occasionally eating chocolate but with awareness. So if you have those little indulgences make sure you are aware.
