Good morning friends. I feel asleep on the couch and woke up at 1:45 and went to bed. I feel refreshed so it's all good. Today we will hit Tractor Supply and Walmart and pick up what we need.
I want to get shopping done before the weekend as I'm not a fan on the Saturday/Sunday crowds. Friday we'll hit Hannaford's for their sale items.
Last night it got down to 17! Very cold out there. Now it's holding at 21!
I'll walk but will definitely bundle up
Wishing all a wonderful OP day and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! We actually have temps around 40 this morning with a predicted high around 60. I am getting ready this morning then sitting in on our Zoom meeting for Large group then Small group. Taylor texted me that our PQA lady is planning to sit in this morning so to be sure and be there <LOL> Then she asked me if I had paper to draw my hand and then color it? and I do. But I couldn't remember if I had any crayons ..... so I moved the teddy bears and opened my toy basket lid and there right on top is a box of 24 crayons! So I'm all set. We agreed to try it on my laptop again and hope it's 'fixed' and if not, she can't mark us down for technology problems. She was the reason I first decided to try Zoom. Because I'm a "guest assistant" I am probably not required to be online, but we agreed it would really look good, and I was more than willing to do it.
I am hoping to get out of here and go grocery shopping as soon as the meeting is over. My Meijer list is growing by leaps and bounds. I got a couple of new recipes this week and need some of the ingredients.
I made Egg Mcmuffins this morning for breakfast and paired them with NSA red grapefruit cups. They were delicious! I have several choices in the fridge for lunch, so I can wait and see what I'm in the mood for. I thawed out two sirloin burgers, a package of Kirkland chicken/gouda/apple sausages and a package of beef brisket hot dogs so I will be spending some quality time with George Foreman this afternoon. I will grill everything and package most of it up to go in the freezer for quick meals. I let DH pick supper and he is leaning towards hot dogs. Last night we had the BBQ shredded chicken with mac 'n cheese and green beans and it was perfect! My scale was down another pound this morning.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good morning!
Ann- Glad you slept well. Sometimes I doze off in the lazyboy and then haul myself off to bed. Sleep is sleep, no matter where it happens.Wow! So cold already!
Sue- Hope your zoom meeting goes well. Congrats on the WL! You are awesome at keeping your weight on a pretty much even keel, reining things in when you go up a little.
Debbie had to work today, so I slept in and woke naturally at 7:00. I am dressed and will head out on a walk after one more cup of coffee. Dee is coming over later and we will work in the garden.
I got several items checked off my list yesterday, including making a double batch of low point Pecan Banana Pancakes and freezing 10, with the rest handy in the fridge. I also made a new batch of muesli and plan to enjoy some in my yogurt this morning. We made a trip to town to drop off home-canned and frozen veggies for DD1 and family, as well as satsumas and made a grocery pickup at Walmart.
The scale is slowly creeping down, so I am hopeful for a small loss at tomorrow’s WI. Time to get moving! Have a great day!

Sue enjoy your zoom meeting. I hope your computer issues with it are gonzo. Yes you surely do have lots of food choices. Enjoy your 'quality time' with George Love when you say that. Great job on your weight loss MMM to pecan banana pancakes, Pam. Those sound heavenly...especially with warm syrup and a tab of butter Enjoy your walk. Getting a later than usual start to the day. We sat around and enjoyed 2 cups of coffee.....We will be off and running shortly.....still trying to 'find' my enthusiasm Will CBL

Hey all, Thursday already! I have another meeting at the bank at noon - wrapping up the construction loan stuff. We decided to use the bank for about half the construction costs and then get rid of the loan once we sell this house. Rates are very low and it's a construction loan so you only pay as the money is doled out. The builder owed us some stuff and he gave it to me yesterday. I have to say I like being here at home during the week. It is more of a sense of normalcy than being surrounded by all the stuff I need to pack and go through in the next few weeks. I can't get a lot done during the weekdays with work, anyhow. DH assures me that we will get it all done on time. Having the home clear-out crew really helps. I have some really nice chairs and a couch at the Cape that I think I am going to have reupholstered if it is not too expensive. They are Heywood Wakefield which is a reputable company and antiques now, but so solidly built. I want to give them a new life rather than buy a bunch of new furniture. It may cost nearly the same but their style and comfort is so nice. Otherwise we are not going to "burden" ourselves with much other furniture other than the bedroom set and one or two nice dressers and nice glass fronted "library" bookcase. Sue, DH asked for hot dogs tonight, too! GMTA! I like the Hebrew National beef ones and I have some nice bakery buns. I'll serve them New England style with B&M baked beans. Ann, did you grow up with the B&M brown bread in the can? I still love that. LOL But I have not bought it in some time. I hope that your Zoom goes well, Sue. I also admire the way you keep the lbs under control. Ann, I often doze off in the Lazy Boy - like Pam said, sleep is sleep no matter how we get it! When I have a cold or cough, I often sleep there. It keeps me upright enough to hold the coughing down a bit. I am glad you had some good rest. I also went to bed earlier last night. I feel much better today. I had a call this AM from a friend in our ukulele singalong group. She directed me to the obit for our teacher Julie's sister. 61 and passed away. So sad. It was sudden so not sure of the details. It was good to connect with this friend and commiserate a bit. We both are very fond of Julie. Pam, your walking is inspiring me - Ann's too. The temp has risen to a balmy 40-something now so I plan to walk before my appointment at noon. Otherwise, the day gets away from me and darkness falls so early. We watched the first episode of Big Sky last night. Wow...it did hold our interest. Have a good day all.

Oh, I meant to post my food... Breakfast was an English muffin with a little bit of salmon cream cheese and one egg/one small sausage. Lunch will be a salad with some chicken slices Dinner - a hot dog and the beans
My little experiment is showing me that I eat mainly out of convenience of what is there. So, I am going to keep the high temptations out of the house for a bit. Much as I love chips, I'd never make a trip to the store just to get them. Especially during this pandemic. I think the doctor is right - the only temptation that way is in the store itself. I caught myself perusing the cookies and candy aisle and walked away!

Sorry to hear about Julie's sister. Keeping her family in my prayers.
Chips and nuts crackers and popcorn do me in as well.
Great food choices as always.
Nice that you are moving right along with the house. I also vote for having furniture reupholstered. It's always all about the comfort.

Hi All ~ We're done 'working' for the day. My computer acted absolutely perfect! I logged on and Taylor and I chatted some before she let everyone else in (that's a great feature). My camera worked the whole time without a hitch. I am so glad I tried it because otherwise I would still be afraid of it. I don't know what changed, but apparently sending it away to the IT guy's house made it decide to work . He said he didn't do anything to it but run a test, but it is better now. Still nice to know that IF the camera goes off, it will insert my profile picture and my voice will still be on. Ann ~ Enjoy Tractor Supply (remind me again what you buy there?) and Walmart. I am headed to Meijer. I totally agree with you about not shopping on the weekends. Judy ~ Thanks for that tip about the 40 minutes. I did look that up and I found out why Diane and I could talk so long last Saturday as one-on-one is unlimited whereas groups are 40 minutes. But that applies to the host and I wasn't hosting. Also my camera cut out but I stayed connected and could watch and even talk and they heard me. We'll probably never know ..... Pam ~ You are also doing very well in watching the lbs. I still believe it is a mindset and once we get ourselves in that frame of mind, it is much easier. I have to decide what to have with the hot dogs tonight. When I cook a whole package of 5, it is two meals as we each eat one on a bun then I cut up the remaining 3 in a can of Bush's baked beans a few days later. So I hesitate to add beans tonight, so will have to think of something else. Since I'm going shopping, I will look around for some good ideas. BBL. Make a great day!

Spent half my morning into the afternoon playing telephone tag with our oil company and also trying to get the payoff figure on our car loan. All I can say is TG for speaker phone! At least I was able to accomplish something as I listened to the annoying music and messages telling me how important my call is to them!!!!! Still haven't hit Walmart or Tractor Supply. We get LuLa's food at Tractor Supply as they carry her brand and it's just before we get to Walmart...win win..... I am running FAR behind my normal schedule. I will walk, but it won't be a long one. Still need to bathe LuLa's paws..... We were going to have pizza tonight, but Carl requested mac and cheese and (you got it) hotdogs So I guess I'll live with the sodium bomb tomorrow. Glad that your zoom meeting went well, sue. That feature is still way over my head

BAck from shopping. For some odd reason TS was very crowded! Must be having some hum dinger of a sale. Normally we browse around but not today. We grabbed miss LuLa's food and high tailed it out of there. Walmart, on the other hand was a ghost town. I was too tired to walk the aisles so we got just what we went in for. Now I'm going to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee before walking LuLa and then bathing her paws. I'm way past tired.......I'd like to read a bit, but who knows? I may nap instead Talk tomorrow unless I get a surge of energy!

Y'all will NOT believe this: We were supposed to have hamburgers for dinner tonight, but DH asked if we could have chili and, you guessed it, hotdogs. What is it about men and hotdogs??? For breakfast I had some of my newly-made muesli with yogurt and blueberries. Lunch is a leftover bbq drumstick, a bowl of gazpacho and a couple satsumas. I will eat the chili topped with a little grated cheddar, chopped tomatoes, onions and avocado, but probably skip the hotdog.
Dee and I spent a couple hours at hard labor in the garden. Finally, we decided to have a lunch and nap break and then see if we have enough energy left to do any more. She took down the okra plants and I hoed weeds. I tried to put up bamboo teepees for the green beans to grow up, but the ground is so hard I couldn't get the poles sunk deep enough. We haven't had a good rain in weeks.
Judy - I think your idea of reupholstering the good furniture is a great idea.
Going to kick back and rest a bit.

Ann ~ I am so sorry you were 'on hold' for so long! That seems to be the way of the new world. Still it is very frustrating! In regards to hot dogs, I told DH that my two preferred sides were already scheduled for other day. If I grill the hot dogs and we eat them in buns tonight, The leftovers will be chopped up in Bush's beans another night - - AND we had mac 'n cheese last night! He suggested Tater Tots and I found some by Ore-Ida in the freezer section (a much larger bag than I would have liked) but they're extra crispy which is how he likes his fries and hash browns, so they should work. We'll see!
DH had come home and changed clothes and went to his cardiologist's office for a blood draw. The good news was that his numbers were perfect. However, he needed to ask for some samples of Entresto and he got it mixed up and asked for something else (which they didn't have). When I arrived home with my huge grocery order (including six bags of cans) and carried them all in - he had to leave to go back to the doctor's office and see if they have samples of the one he needs. If they don't, I told him to leave a message for his cardiologist that he will be off his Entresto until something changes. Maybe another drug that doesn't cost so much???
I have all the ingredients for my new IP Tomato Soup recipe as well as IP Chicken Taco Soup recipe. Many, many cans - plus I needed to restock my basement pantry, so there we are. I also snagged some TP and Kleenex (Christmas) and was quite pleased. Meijer is limiting to 2 the items that people tend to stock-pile. They were on the news last night saying that if people only buy what they need, there is plenty of food and supplies in the stores with more in the pipeline. So there is no need for hoarding!
I think I need to go sit down for a while. I had thought about going for a walk, but I'm just too doggoned tired! I got plenty of walking around the store and then carrying everything in and down the stairs. Some days I feel older than others .....
If I think of anything else I wanted to tell you gals, I'll pop back in .....

I finally realized I missed reading several posts from yesterday. No wonder I was confused about the interrupted zoom meeting, lol!
When we order Christmas gifts for the MI crew, we have them shipped to DD's house. She gets the kids and Mike's stuff and he gets DD's and they do the wrapping. DD sends the stuff for family here to me and I wrap for her. Mailing is kept to the minimum because of the outrageous expense. We will be mailing some small stocking stuffers and pecans.

Hey again all!
Sue & Pam, it's the hot dog night! lol I have a funny story about hot dogs. My DH loves them so much that we were remembering a family joke. One time after we had invited his mother and brother to the Cape for the day several years back, our DD and I over heard him say to them "You like hot dogs? C'mon down and I'll feed you a hot dog!" Our DD thought that was HILARIOUS. We made a lot of fun of him about that - in jest! What an enticement DD said! We use that saying all the time now. C'mon down - drive a hundred miles and I'll feed you a hot dog! lol Ironically, his mom loved hot dogs so she didn't mind. :-)
DH also went to the famous Harrows Chicken Pie shop in Boston today and will bring home a pie
I see the CDC issued a strong warning of no travel for Thanksgiving. Rhode Island just announced another shutdown. I am so glad to be home. No desire to go anywhere.
Sue, where did you find the Chicken taco/tortilla soup recipe? We'd love that. I know what you mean about lugging all the bags of groceries in. It's exhausting by the time you shop, unload and put everything away. That's why I do love the shopping services once in a while or what Pam does with curbside pickup. I don't do it often but once in a while - especially when tired. I hope your DH is able to get his meds from the doctor.
Ann, wow it was COLD today. My coat was not warm enough so I'll have to dig out the Eddie Bauer down. My bank meeting went great and we are nearly there with all the to do list for documents relating to the house, septic, plans, on and on. It's coming together!
Since I don't know how much longer I will work, I signed up for next year's Flexible spending account. It's handy for expensive dental work and glasses, etc. We can always spend it down fast if we have to do that.
Good news on the vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna so soon. I'm glad for the medical workers getting it first.
I had a very busy day workwise, too. Lots of contact with alumni and others. Have a great night all.
