FINALLY Friday! not trying to wish my life away but this week was the longest - for some reason!! UGH! I do not know the plan for tonight/tomorrow regarding the girls, but MAN I know I will NOT be up at 4:30 AM - THAT'S FOR SURE!
My work remains "caught up" so today should be a fairly easy day - only Aleta out (as far as I know) so my last day before vacation will be easy? I hope? I have a 1 hour training today, on using our new "Team Meetings" but other than that I will make sure the work STAYS caught up before I leave today! I know when I return on Monday the 30th I will have a week of back logged stuff to catch up, but that's OK... I still prefer the week OFF! I DO plan to get it done by the end of that first week back though, even if it takes OT... given the scheduling I see ahead for that week! HA! That first Friday in December, I have 4 hour training, 8:30 - 12:30, then I will need a lunch and get my own work done ~ BUT Crystal has allowed Kaitlin to have that day off, and Aleta already has it scheduled off - so there ya' have it. No one "cares" so...
Anyway, enough of worrying about that - I can't change anything, I need to just figure out how to NOT let it eat away at me all the time! Instead I need to look at it as, OK Another QUIET day in the office... and what can be done, will be done - and no guilt if she comes back to backlogged work (like I do) - I put this all on myself - need to work on that!
Day 20 Gratitude: My time with Matthew ♥ It was 1 year ago today that he had his first chemo treatment. It was a long exhausting day in Boston, I remember Ken and I pretty much just sat in the same chairs for the whole 8 hours we were there. I refused to leave the hospital, it was cold and rainy, and I just wanted to be "there". Anyway - it gave Ken and I some quality time with only Matt & Patti... no one else... no other kids, no sisters, no Kathy... so yes I am grateful for the few times we had like that ♥ Even though we lost him anyway ~ I am grateful for those 3 1/2 months of his feeling better - feeling hopeful and looking forward to his healthier future. I am grateful that the treatments went so well for him, and he never knew it didn't work! I am grateful that he is not suffering in a hospital now, where no one can visit and thankful that I didn't have to see him lose that optimism that he had up until the very end ♥

FINALLY FRIDAY!!!
Carole - HUGS to you! What a beautiful post about your Matthew. Thank you for sharing - and please know, your experience has touched all of us here. We love you!! ♥♥
Sue - awww NO! I am so so sorry you have had to cancel Christmas plans to travel. My heart is breaking for you over such an awful dilemma. I know it's the wise thing and yadda yadda but emotionally, it's really sad. I'm so sorry my Friend. ♥♥
We are struggling here too about Thanksgiving. DSIL text yesterday and warned us to keep an eye on the numbers...my DM will not be leaving her home. My DB called me the other night and said he plans to stay with her so she is not alone those few days. Mark is diligent about keeping others away from Mom! I appreciate it, I really do and I guess we will try to set up a Zoom to raise a glass of cheer to her. Now I'm really worried about Christmas too and I suspect, like our Sue, we will be canceling our annual Family gathering and put each other on Zoom meets for our Gift exchange lol But it is just one day. We can do this. We had practice with no Easter.
Yesterday DL made the call to send ALL Teachers, Staff, and Administrators to work from home. This 'order' begins Monday which gives us today to gather up all our belongings and tech equipment to set up home offices. Part of me is very relieved but part of me will miss the 'balance' of working in my school office. I agree with Sue, we all need to do our part. It's really bad in our area, in particular our own zip code area! Not the 'inner city' like last time, but the suburbs especially where local schools followed a hybrid schedule...I don't know. I just don't understand how this got so crazy out of control so close to us.

Mornin' Sue... LOL When I hit post, and saw you had posted I was thinking I had put it on the wrong day! LOL Enjoy your OT!!
Ladies ~ Please don't let my gratitude post bring you down - I have tears in my eyes, but also a smile ~ It's going to be that kind of season I'm afraid! I know I can count on you all to "bear with me" over the next few months!
Gabrielle: Speed "work"? LOL We know it's a typo - just teasing you ♥ We know it was a speed WALK - glad you and a friend can enjoy that kind a thing! LOL We are "warming up" too - 33 out here today, was in the 20s the past few mornings! I think today we start to go back up to the 50s - WOO HOO! Yes, let's hope that 2" or so of rain did cut your fire danger! So glad you are looking forward to your time off - time home - we all deserve some time! I will enjoy mine as well. I think pies will only be 2 days, Tuesday may be a long day - but - it is what it is, and it is really only one LONG day, and yes this year I will be thankful to be HOME while baking! (I HOPE)
I managed 9 out of 10 dots... darned phone rang as I was ready to step away - so missed one by less than 100 steps! UGH! NOT TODAY - just walk away! LOL Yes... I do need to pull out my warmer gloves, boots, no... I need my good sneakers when I walk - my boots are not good for my feet! Yesterday I didn't get out - convinced myself I would do something at home - later - didn't happen - but still got over my step goal - but KNOW I need that 15-20 minutes of WALKING each day... just GOTTA.DO.IT.!
Hmm, will your new mask order make some folks want to return to working from home?? I know we are "lucky" to not have to wear our masks at our own desks, but I am better about putting mine on, when someone "enters my space"... just because! I think Ken will bring our tree down today - and if it warms up the next couple of days, that's when he'd prefer to do the outside lights - I'm fine with being a week early.
Sue: OH GREAT NEWS for your friend! Well OK she has the flu - but eh, she's probably already feeling better by now?
UGH Sorry PA numbers and decisions have tweaked your TG plans {{{hugs}}} Fingers crossed the kids will still come over - like you said it's only a few hours, and most of the time you are eating - so no masks. Oh I didn't know you know someone suffering right now, yes that would make it more difficult for you ♥ I thought you only knew the folks that were tested and negative!
Our state numbers have gone up but not our local numbers, so it's hard to be "lumped in" with the areas that are NOT "complying"!
Kathy is doing fine - To see her, and talk with her you'd never know she is doing anything different! I haven't actually talked much with her this week, but she will be up on Tuesday after her treatment to either get Zoë or help with pies! I will ask her if she'd like us to wear masks - she is the only one I worry about right now. Although radiation is not the same as chemo (obviously) I worry that it may be "compromising" her overall health and maybe she should worry about Covid? She certainly is NOT worried about it though... so I will ask, but pretty sure if she isn't comfortable being here, she just won't come!
LOL Yes, I have to LOL because yesterday we got the full rundown on the bank's Covid Policy (again) tighter restrictions on travel and "feeling sick"... everyone signed the form, saying they have not had "symptoms" in the past 14 days... and yet... hmmm... they are all using SICK TIME - but they haven't had any of the symptoms!
The list includes headache, fever, body aches, vomiting, nausea or diarrhea, fatigue - so if you had NONE of these symptoms, why are you staying home "sick" Just gotta LOL at just how ridiculous this whole thing is in our company!
Oh and Crystal got called home early yesterday because her DD was sick at school - so I assume we won't see her today - and if Sophie's symptoms are ANY of those listed above, will she work from home for 10 days again?? UGH! Not my problem - I am off ne xt week - but GEEZE, CAN you actually have it both ways these days?? Shouldn't HR be following up on all these "sick days" recently?? I mean pretty much ANY symptom is a reason to quarantine or be tested! Sorry on a rant again!
Oh Sue - I'm so sorry your holiday plans are OFF now. I know my plans have not had to change - but only because my family all lives so damned close! Sometimes it's a OITA but times like this - I will be thankful we are all right here! I am still concerned - Jaclyn may (at any time) decide to shut themselves IN again, like they did in April - remember they didn't come to Easter, we always have this in the back of our minds ♥ {{{hugs}}} to you as you try to get through the holidays.

Mornin' Christine ~ Thank you ♥ Love you gals too ♥ Not sure where I'd be right now without all of you ♥
Sorry your TG plans too have taken a turn ~ and yes we all worry what will December and Christmas bring? Again, we are fortunate that we have all been together throughout the whole 9 months of this mess, but again, I worry about Kathy - but will not suggest she stay home. She has to make that decision for herself.
UGH to having to work from home again ~ but YAY for being able to work from home again! LOL Now you can easily get out there for your afternoon walk, before the sun goes down... all it takes is a little schedule change here and there. It is unsettling for "it" to have gotten so out of control in such a short time - and so CLOSE to you guys in PA! Like I said MA numbers are up but not our county - although, time will tell as outdoor seating ends and people don't respect and follow certain protocols.
OK I must get moving... cannot be late today - think I am a little short on time this week - may have to stay a little late to make it up? Or say Nah, to heck with it? We'll see how the day unfolds!
♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Got in a bit of a WO this morning--kickboxing and some core work. I really need to find a way to fit a couple of those in each week. It is cold today but clear--it has actually been beautiful here--clear skies and the leaves are brilliant. Today I am grateful to live in such a beautiful place with lots of space---we can move around even during a pandemic. I feel so fortunate! Long day yesterday but did get a haircut at 6:00 and that was a good thing....even though I won't be seeing many people outside of work and grocery shopping! It still feels good though. Yesterday our governor announced a statewide 10:00 pm - 5:00 am curfew....of course, our sheriff said that he won't enforce it. I can't stand the guy--a pro-Trump, good-old-boy. Uggh. On a positive note, I think that DS21 has a job! They are doing the final reference checks....it is at an auto parts place--right up his alley (and I had suggested he pursue something like that last May but he wasn't interested...SHHHH...don't tell him
Carole: Yes, FINALLY Friday! I loved that you shared your gratitude with us today--and that you have those memories with you. I find myself frequently thinking about you, your strength, and the strong family bond that you and Ken have built with your children and their families. It is a wonderful thing. Please always know that you can share those things with us. Hugs to you my friend! LOL. So yesterday, it WAS "speed work"! LOL...it is these intervals that we do for 20 seconds at a time where you run as fast as you can. I know, crazy! But I think that it does make me stronger and it breaks up the time! So, I did break it to the 5 people in cubicles yesterday about all-day mask wearing and they all were actually fine with it. I told them to let me know if there are issues that arise. YAY for next week off! I will be celebrating too at the end of Monday--I am actually thinking about scheduling a mani/pedi late Monday to kick off my week off Yes, we are planning on myself, DH, and DS21 for Thanksgiving. And we might be masking as I am not certain about DS21's masking behaviors---he was VERY cautious here, but who knows as he has a room mate, etc. We are Zooming at 7:30 pm with all of the family--a family conversation over wine/pie! My mom is excited about that. And who knows for Christmas! I am okay with all of it. We will plan a special family vacation after this is over....it doesn't have to be on a holiday. Maybe at the central coast next October (you remember Monterey, right?). Hope that today passes quickly and DO NOT think about who is not there, what isn't getting done---that is not your job!

Christine: Oh wow! So you are working remotely again? We have been told, "No change for any administrative functions and kids stay on their current schedules" Our health officer insists that school is the safest/best place for kids as we enforce masking, hand washing, etc. and, if they were not at school, who knows where they would be so parents can work. Well, this isn't a bad time of year to be at home....I am WITH you though on the fact that it's nice to get to the office. I am wondering, how could you structure your days so that it is different this time? Stick to a schedule that includes a morning walk, some stretching, fixing a lunch, then working, taking breaks, etc.? Maybe you can make it different? I am SO sorry about the family plans in flux right now. I know it is hard! Aren't you glad to have the girls at home? That must be a nice thing in these times. Hope that today is a good day--don't hurt your back moving all that stuff out of your office.
Sue: HUGS to you! You have been SO excited about the trip to Hannah's! While it must have been so hard as you realized the decision, at the same time I guess you now know and can plan around it? Again, I am so sorry! I had forgotten about Josh's political inclinations...no wonder you were worried about the mask wearing for TG. Well, I guess it will be good to not have to face that. Wow, thank goodness your plant has been vigilant about masking--sounds like it is making a difference. Hope that today is a good day for you!
Hello to all who follow. I need to get moving...all I have today is Zooms! One from 8:30-12:30, and another from 1:00-4:30. Hmm....oh well! I need to shower, get ready, and pack my lunch. I will try to pop in briefly at 12:30!

Good Morning
It is cold (35 degrees) and fogy this morning, I had ice on my wind shield which I wasn't expecting at all, but I got to work safely. Today is my 54th birthday, UGG. No special plans tonight as everything is shut down any way's, I'll figure out what to fix for dinner and probably go home and watch "The Undoing" on HBO, it's a pretty good show. We also have to have all these OSHA signs on our door of the office about Covid and how the door has be locked at all times. No one is allowed in the office, which I do like. I have to ask myself questions before I can enter and so on. It sounds like a lot of states are following the same protocol with having a curfew at 10:00pm til 5:00am.
My friend at work went crabbing again this week and now I have 6 more crab to clean and pick. I'm giving my DFIL 2 of them, he loves seafood so I know he will appreciate it. It is time consuming though but I'm very grateful to have been given them to enjoy. My friend that goes crabbing hate's seafood so he always gives them away. He just like to go crabbing for the sport.
Carole what a nice tribute to Matt. I know it has not been good year for you but were always here for you anytime. I sure hope 2021 is a better year and we get rid of this Covid and get back to normal. I'm so grateful to have a vacation next week also, I really need it. I'm tired and I haven't had a full week off since July. I found out we can carry over vacation time into next year, they just won't let you build anymore after 330 hours, which is a lot of hours.
Sue sorry your TG and Christmas plans have changed, it doesn't seem fair but we need to be safe and if people would do what they are told to do about masks, we would be in much better shape. But, all those who still think it's a hoax are pretty much the one's who are making it so difficult to fight it. Look at our current administration half of them have Covid or have had it. It's really ridiculous.
Gabrielle, I know I laughed at my DMIL and the phone also. She does have access to a phone in the facility because she's already called DFIL to beg that he come get her out, but he told her again, he just can't take care of her anymore. He can barely take care of himself after this last surgery. DH said she doesn't grasp the fact that she has dementia, she thinks she's fine. It's just a sad deal. I'm so happy DS21 has a job that's got to make him feel better and he already knows about car care and parts.
OK gotta get back to work have a great day everyone
Jenny

Evening all....WHAT A DAY!! OT went smoothly and just before I left to head to the Remote Warehouse Todd said "if you want to work tomorrow, we will be here 6:00-12:00"....I said sure....figure helping out when they need it is one more thing in my favor!! So then, I get to the RWH and Tonya's car is not there so I had to unlock the WH and office and checked my email, nothing from her. Gloria got there and she didn't have an email either so we just started working and assumed she had called in sick but Gloria said she would usually send a message....we both thought COVID!
Remember I mentioned her son had a sore throat and cough but no temp...the Express Care doctor said just a viral illness but said if you want a test to get back to work sooner we can so that....his work was going to make him quarantine for 14 days w/o a test....my guess, the test was POSITIVE. Gloria thought the same thing! Just in case, Gloria called Mark and said, she wasn't here and hoped she hadn't been in an accident on the way in and to let us know if she would be in..... About 9:45am Todd came over to the RWH and said "someone is sick at Tonya's house, not her, and we have asked her to stay home and call the doctor".....Todd didn't know that we knew Matthew had been test on Tuesday and was awaiting results and also her grandson, 2 year old Gabriel was tested Wednesday so he can be put under to have his teeth cleaned and 4 cavities filled under anesthesia....my guess is they are both positive.
As the day moved on we kept finding things with sticky notes on them with instruction of what needed to be done with them and she didn't leave her desk the way she normally does at night. I also noticed that she took her trash out last night and we always do it on Fridays.....both Gloria and I think she found out Thursday before she left from possibly a text from Matthew and she knew she would be out. We also think she will NOT get tested but just quarantine for 14 days and we will have to finish out the month w/o her and expect her back around December 7th! UGH!! The more sticky notes we found the madder we were getting. If she knew and gave us a head's up we could have planned for this but now we are just flying by the seat of our pants!
AND....if that isn't bad enough we are getting a MEAP on Wednesday 11/25 (408 orders) and one on 11/30 (738 orders)....they all have to be processed before we leave on the 30th so the orders are out of the system for month end billing! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!! I have a feeling Gloria and I will be working a bit of OT the last few days of November!! $$$ is nice but this is ridiculous!
So...needless to say, this DEFINITELY makes me more OK with the decision to NOT have Sarah's gang over here.....fingers crossed it goes no further than Matthew and possibly Gabriel and Tonya stays away and doesn't put anyone else at risk. Todd only told Gloria and I about it since we all work in the same office and we cannot share the news with anyone else at work but Tonya was talking about the COVID tests all week and saying "he has no temperature and he's not getting any worse so we are just waiting for the results so he can go back to work"! I think she was NOT totally honest with us.....very frustrating that she could have been putting both Gloria and I at risk!!
OK....enough of that for one day....sorry for my rant! Now to go back to yesterday to catch up.....
Carole...thanks for the "think first" reminder yesterday! I did have a pretty good day and walked past the snack machine at work and spied the Crunchy Cheetos and thought, "do I really need those"....nope, so I went back to my desk, got a piece of sugarless gum and got back to work!
Be careful on the new driveway...yes, the smooth surface will tend to ice up quicker than the beat up old one!! Maybe you should have a tub of kitty litter or something out there to toss on the path you are walking just to be safe....don't want fall and break anything! Glad work was slow and you were able to get a nice walk at lunchtime...bet it was chilly...I know it was here!
Christine....hopefully FitBit will show a "good" for your night sleep tonight!! Sometimes Fair is the best we can hope for these day....haven't had a poor in a long time so that's OK with me.....I'm usually good and occasionally get an excellent!! I sometimes squeak out a 90-91 for the night!! Glad the chats with all the teachers and the trouble-shooting info helped get them onboard. Good idea to let IT know that they have been instructed to contact you or the other teachers who have successfully used the process. So glad they are practicing and figuring it out on their own and feeling successful and congratulating themselves on muddling through this process in the midst of this pandemic/chaos!! You are a great teacher/leader for them.....something that you were not able to do for a while and now things are getting more like the old times of communication and working together!

WTG Christine on the Ninja Air Fryer....gotta love a 30% off Kohl's coupon, Kohl's cash AND a sale all the same time!! WIN all the way around for you! Now that things at school seem to be falling more into place with the remote testing and your contract work is complete for now you can begin to focus again on your health and well being!
Paint night was great! Every one kept masks on and social distanced as mandated by the state... we have always been social distanced but masks were up to the individual and we usually had the off because there was 6+ feet between us...but now rules are rules and we followed them...We all want to make sure Lacey doesn't have to stop in person paint nights like we did in the spring!
WOW Christine...never heard of Hilliard Lyons but losing everything you had invested! UGH!! That had to be such a blow! I googled them just now and they are still in business!! Kind of scary for folks still invested with them.
OK....Jason just got home and guess what Kellen was exposed at school and is now quarantined until early December....guess it makes cancelling Thanksgiving a non-issue now!
Hannah is FaceTiming....gotta go!
