Day 21 Get Ready to Weigh In
Becks writes: Tomorrow, you’ll step on the scale and find out if you lost weight this week. These weekly weigh-ins can help you in the following ways:
They allow you to celebrate and build up your confidence when you’ve lost weight. They keep you honest if you’ve gained weight. They help you stay committed to the program.
Before you step on the scale, try not to think, I hope I weigh x pounds. Instead, think, Last week, I weighed ... Today, I should probably probably weigh somewhere between a half pound to 2 pounds more or less than that.
Don’t expect your weight to go down every week—it won’t. If it turns out that you’ve gained weight, ask yourself the following questions: What would I tell a close friend in the same situation? Would I like her less? Would I view her as bad or less worthy or as a failure? Remind yourself that your weight is not a reflection of who you are. What do I need to review with my diet coach? Do I need his or her help in keeping this weight gain in perspective?
How often do you weigh yourself and how are you feeling this week?
How do you feel about weighing yourself tomorrow, or whatever day is your weekly weigh in day? Before you get on the scale what are you going to tell yourself?

I like to weigh in weekly on Fridays but sometimes I’ll pop on the scale to see how I’m doing. I like all of Beck’s tips, particularly since I have a way to go before hitting goal. Like all the other tools, the scale is a tool, not a weapon, so I embrace the info either way, but of course hugely satisfying when it goes down.

How often do you weigh yourself and how are you feeling this week? Every morning

Same as every morning...just information that keeps me honest and lets me know how I am doing. I know when the weight will be up or down...usually...so am not shocked/surprised though sometimes can wish I had made other choices the day(s) before.

How often do you weigh yourself and how are you feeling this week? I weigh myself daily as I have for the last 30 years. I feel great this week compared to last week. My mood is much improved even though I have not reached my personal goal. How do you feel about weighing yourself tomorrow, or whatever day is your weekly weigh in day? I’m ok with weighing in tomorrow which is the start of my WW week. I know that I’ve done the work. It will be what it will be. Before you get on the scale what are you going to tell yourself? It’s just feedback. Stay the course or reroute. Take the information, decide what to do with it and go on. Thanks for posting our thread lizlor. Nice job🌟

lizlor, Thanks for posting this week. You did a great job. How often do you weigh yourself and how are you feeling this week? I weigh myself daily in the morning, and in the early evening on Monday for my Weight Watchers weigh-in. This morning after I saw the number I became worried that I'm really gaining weight. I also weigh myself in the early evening on Mondays for my Weight Watchers weigh-in. This one has been up and I'm concerned about that. Right now I'm not feeling happy with the way my weight is going. I will probably start telling myself I need to do something about the gain.

How often do you weigh yourself and how are you feeling this week? Every morning. I track the daily weight on Fitbit, which gives me a nice graph. I am feeling pretty good this week. It is good to get back in touch with the Beck techniques.
How do you feel about weighing yourself tomorrow, or whatever day is your weekly weigh in day? Before you get on the scale what are you going to tell yourself? My WW weigh-in is Wednesday morning. I have been going to in-person meetings since they opened back up. However, they may be closing down again since the COVID numbers are going up. In maintenance mode, I try to regard the weekly weigh-in as a snapshot in time. But when you put all the snapshots together, you get a photo-mosaic that gives you information: either "good job" or "get your act together" Since March 2020 I have been fluctuating between 156 and 160.
When we started this Beck review on November 1, I was 157.4 During this period, my highest was November 13 at 159.6 This morning, on November 21, I am 156.6

How often do you weigh yourself and how are you feeling this week? ****** I weigh in every morning before dressing. I post my weight on Monday here and in the WW app and my journal everyday. I think I am 164 pounds which means I have two pounds to weigh in free as my goal is 160 pounds! I'm really struggling with the sugar issue as I've been off it 18 days! I keep telling myself "no choice"!
How do you feel about weighing yourself tomorrow, or whatever day is your weekly weigh in day? Before you get on the scale what are you going to tell yourself? ****** I've weighed for several years everyday, this is a "no choice" for me because it's so easy to gain but hard to lose at my age. I've noticed throughout the years the older I get the more difficult it is to lose. If I see a gain I go back to my journal to see if I'm doing something different or ask for help here from our great coaches!
Saturday - 18 days off sugar! 👍
I wondered how everyone is going to handle eating on Thanksgiving Day? I talked to my daughter about food and I think we're going to skip dessert, we are shopping tomorrow for most of our food.

mac, Congrats on the days off of sugar. It will be just my husband and me for Thanksgiving. We have a turkey breast, gravy, fancy boxed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, and home-made cranberry sauce. We don't have dessert.

I WI once a week while I'm in losing mode. Sometimes I'll check in on Wednesday to see where I am for my Friday WI, but WI daily would drive me bonkers right now.
If I've been OP I look forward to seeing what the scale tells me, if I know I've been off plan then I dread it a bit but I always track it and move on, telling myself what I did right or wrong and what I need to do next week to see a loss.
