Happy Saturday, All.
It is cloudy with a chance of rain today. We did not drive to YS this morning. I have been feeling a little listless these past couple of days due to allergies and I just didn’t feel like going anywhere. I woke up with a case of short hair bed head which I had forgotten about. 😅 I rode the bike for 20 minutes, then did some strength training and stretching exercises. I have my first batch of sauerkraut jarred up a d sitting in a pan in the basement. It will take minimum one week to ferment. I also made a batch of broccoli salad and Iggy did a batch of red beans.
BIL and SIL have decided not to come down for Thanksgiving. That is how I know Covid is bad in Ohio, when the in laws don’t want to travel to visit the kids and grandkids. Iggy’s family is living through another lockdown. His DM lives in same bldg as granddaughter, her DH and their 10 month old boy, so they are looking out for her. She has a container garden on her balcony and she loves to cook, so she is happy. Her arthritis has kept her from going out a lot, so she won’t go stir crazy. Iggy’s DS will still go to visit as well. I hooe all your relatives are being careful as well.

Going for 85 couple more days..too warm in sun to out up more outside lights. bad air quality I think is driving this four day sinus migraine thing..but I seem to get it every year about now.
db and wife having the two kids' families ... we are having our own little Thanksgiving. Dsil in NY was having dd and spouse from one city and Dd's MIL from another and two nephews. bUt dd cancelled that long drive because she is sick, one nephew has to work (casino!) the other has girlfriend exposed to virus. Not sure how all that shakes down. Frankly they should just have only the three that live in the house.

Linda, ouch in the 4 day sinus migraine. I hope it improves soon. Yup, there should be only single household Thanksgiving dinner unless you can have a small gathering outside.
We just found out that niece#1’s DH has asymptomatic COVID brought home by 3 yr old from daycare. They are waiting for 3 yr old’s test to come back. Niece and 9 month old are negative. Niece#2 and family were outside playing with them on Friday and are now quarantining.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Congrats on the eye report. 🤣 on bed head. You've had a freeze there and still have allergy problems? At least you had enough energy to get your workout done. I hope the sauerkraut turns out well. Probably best that BIL/SIL aren't coming especially with at least one positive. I know you and Iggy won't be going anywhere near. I knew some places in Europe had lockdowns but didn't realize Beirut is going through that again. We should be, but....Even Biden says he won't do that. It's good that your MIL has family that close to look out for her.
Becky, it sounds like you are still trying to fine tune your footwear. I hope you will be able to find shoes that won't aggravate your joints.
The FSU article was probably one you could have written, Kathy. Speaking of FSU, I didn't know until I was trying to find it to watch that the game was postponed. We are flipping back between App State (my alma mater) vs. Coastal Carolina and Texas State (Dale's alma mater) vs. Arkansas State. I didn't realize that Muschamp got fired at SC. He should have stayed at TX. Good luck to UCF. I have some agoraphobia as well. When I saw how crowded the parking lot was at Target on Thursday, I almost didn't go in, but once I got in there it wasn't bad. I agree on the effects of the limitation signs in stores. It makes your brain go "uh-oh". I guess you heard that both Don Jr. and that loud mouth GF of his both have covid. Wonder if they were with Rick Scott.
Linda, Micki has had a lot of opportunities lately to get used to the procedures at the vet. He also seems to be more outgoing than Arya (which doesn't take much). It will probably take both of us to get her out of the car and to the door and then if I can take her just inside the door, I think she'll do ok. I just hope she doesn't pitch a fit when she notices that I left. But she'll be inside then. I can well imagine the stories your brother has from work. I hate the flooring has been such a problem but good that it seems to be scheduled so you can get them in and out and back to normal. Cute dog meme. Arya sometimes forgets she's not a cat and tries to sit on my head after Dale gets up. I wish all your relatives luck who are mixing households for Thanksgiving. It will just be us, but then that's normal.
How is Zoe doing, Liz? Are you taking next week off? I know NYC schools are on virtual learning now. Does that mean your cases there are going up like they are for the rest of us? Things were going so well there. I didn't realize there is a mayoral election there next year. That will be a really challenging situation for a new person to come into. Maybe Rudy will run again. I don't think the man is all there these days.
Denise, I hope you're having a good weekend. How's the OT been?
I spent some MG time this morning helping 3 of my folks get their hours into the system. We are supposed to have hours in by tomorrow so we can do awards on December 7th. That means we have to project hours through the end of the year. I probably underestimated but amo over 300 for the year, so if I'm off 10 or 15 hours it won't make a difference because I would still be in the 300-399 range. I also watched my gardening shows this morning and one of them ws filmed in Asheville, so that was fun. I have so much I want to do in our yard but my body disagrees. We have a sunny but chilly day, and I am going to have to go out at halftime to water some plants. I also need to check on the "lettuce farm".

On Rudy....the Germans would say “not all his teacups in the cabinet.” I like “a taco short of a combo” and “lives upstairs over a vacant lot. “Then there is “elevator does not reach top floor any more.“ “Couple sandwiches short of a picnic.”
anyone else got more of these?
LOL imagining Arya on your head.
Micki resists being taken from the car! He really hates being picked up. But no trouble coming back. The vet people love him.
Gritted teeth and did the last of the lights..three nets across a ficus...had to use clothespins. Then five more nets over two big shrubs. I am turning it in tonight and declaring it time to cheer up the street. Another neighbor is on ladder with house lights but really should stick to shrubs. The house that goes nuts for Halloween and Christmas will probably start tomorrow. The rest get it done somewhere before Dec 1. You can walk the dog on our block then without a flashlight!
Took my sweaty self to the shower to try out Vicks shower tablets. Disappointment. Not much smell but my sinuses feel better from the shower.

Not playing with a full deck. The lights are on but no one’s home. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Not the brightest bulb in the pack. Nutty as a fruitcake. Bats in the belfry. Has a screw loose.

Chele, thanks for the start. Hope your allergies improve soon. It's been cloudy here too, but I think we only got a spritz of rain. Sorry the relatives can't come down. We've decided not to get together for Thanksgiving either. Although we've stayed pretty isolated, DS has been traveling and sees DN. DN has roommates, so that adds more contacts. DBIL has to go into work sometimes and on and on. I will stop by DM's on Thanksgiving and we'll visit outside for a bit. That's our current plan. Hope your relatives recover quickly. Karen, I didn't realize the game had been postponed until DM called because she couldn't find it! Some fan I am. UCF just lost a heartbreaker to #7 Cincinnati. I didn't know Muschamp got fired either. I heard about Don Jr. and also Rudy's son. I wouldn't be surprised if Rudy has it too. Linda, hope the sinus migraine improves soon. I agree on only having single household gatherings. Lol on “not all his teacups in the cabinet.” Chele beat me to most of the other ones I can think of! Here's a few more: Doesn't have both oars in the water A few cans shy of a six-pack Off his rocker Elevator reaches the top, but the doors don't open
Waving to everyone. Have a good evening.

Thanks for the start Chele.I woke up with bad sinus pressure and a splitting headache.I'm glad it finally went away.I don't blame your BIL and SIL for deciding not to come.I saw where there are 130 counties in Texas pushing the red limit and it's not even Thanksgiving.I'm sorry about your niece's DH getting Covid.
Linda I hope you get rid of your sinus migraine soon. The one I like the best is Rudy is 1 french fry short of a happy meal.He scares me with his wild goings on.Plus being so crooked.
Karen I need to buy another pair of shoes but can't find exactly what I want.Scooter goes willingly with the techs who come out to get her.She loves the attention.LOL. I don't know what she is doing now.She doesn't come in for many meals anymore and prefers to sleep outside on her chair.

Linda, I had never heard "lives upstairs over a vacant lot". I need to remember that one. I think all of you covered every one I've ever heard. I usually don't have to worry about people picking up Arya. Being about 45 lbs isn't conducive to being picked up. When she sits on my head, she is mostly on my pillow with part of her body on the top of my head and forehead. It feels quite strange. All the vets loved Phoebe. She was a social butterfly. She loved all the folks at the UT vet school and they told her she was a rock star. I have a feeling Arya will run to the car to come home from the vet. How are the sinuses today? I never had much luck with those shower tablets either.
Neither of us had a good football day yesterday, Kathy. We were 1 for 4. I was surprised that Michigan won with the way they played in the first half. But then it did have to go to triple OT. Your Knights came oh so close. Rudy could be a super spreader all on his own. Sorry about the holiday plans but better to be safe, especially with DM. I heard Scott Atlas talking about how you need to get together this Thanksgiving because some people won't have a next Thanksgiving. And, that behavior will ensure that fate for some. He needs to stick to reading x-rays.
Becky, it seems like sinus headaches are breaking out all over the country. Mine finally went away yesterday. I agree on how scary (and crooked) Rudy is. I can't believe the Trump campaign is paying him $20K a day for being a national embarassment. I used to have good luck with Brooks shoes and then I didn't. Sometimes it felt like I was running in cement blocks. I have switched and switched to so many brands and am still not thrilled with any of them. I've had pretty good luck recently with Merrells, but the last pair I bought was Brooks and it's better than many I've had but still not exactly what I want. I wonder what's going on with Scooter. Is it like her not to eat? Do you think she's eating wild things? I'm surprised she isn't sleeping with you, but then it's cooler outdoors now than it was. As long as she's sleeping in her chair every night, you know where she is.
I'm anxious to see how the sauerkraut turns out, Chele. I have sauerruben (fermented turnips) in the fridge and need to start eating it every day. Good probiotics. How were the broccoli salad and red beans? What did Iggy do special with the beans? I hope none of the family covid cases become symptomatic. Our rates are off the charts here and I really wish people would start taking things more seriously.
I finished up the MG video this morning. Now I just have to hope it will play without getting hung up when I show it on awards night. Workout clothes are in the washer and I made a batch of jasmine rice for Dale. When it warms up a bit, I will go out and weed around the blueberries and elderberries and put down peat to acidify the soil around the blueberries and then hopefully will have time to mulch them all as well. We are expecting rain but it won't be til evening. Then we get another cold front and it won't get out of the 50s tomorrow. I go to Osteo tomorrow because of Thursday being a holiday. So that will rearrange my week some. I have a rather long shopping list for Publix tomorrow and need to stop at Big Lots for a few things. I also may take a trip to Duluth Trading to see if I can find something for Dale for Christmas. I ordered a pair of trail shoes for him, but that's all he's getting so far.
Waving to the rest of the gang!

moonriver, Denise. What’s on the menu besides turkey? Do you have any good WW recipes or slimmed down recipes? Iggy and I will be alone this year. One of the fam has tested positive for COVID although he is asymptomatic. We have a traditional menu planned. Thanksgiving is one of the few days of the year I will eat an animal protein, but only a small slice. I prefer the potatoes, carrots and green beans. We do our green beans with olive oil, lemon and garlic, because neither of us like green bean casserole. It is the only time of the hear I will eat mashed potatoes as well. I hate that over full feeling so I will not go hog wild.

Karen, have fun at the grocery. I hope it is not too crowded. Yay for finishing the video. The beans go in a light tomato sauce (not Sunday gravy style) with garlic, sautéed onions, salt and pepper. That’s it. Fingers crossed on the kraut.
Becky, I guess Scooter is an outdoor dog again. I love the “one French fry short of a Happy Meal.” I hooe the headache is gone.
Kathy, I am sorry about Thanksgiving. It is disappointing after all these months not to have a get together but better to have one’s health so one can celebrate next year. Never heard the elevator one. 😄
Linda, how is the head? I love different country’s sayings! Did the whole neighborhood turn on their lights?
Waving to Liz.
Have a good Sunday.
