Ahhh!!! Saturday at last! And the beginning of some time off for a couple of you...nice! Today I am grateful that I was able to catch the phone when DS21 called and just needed to talk. I was so glad that he chose to call me to think through some challenges and that I had the chance to support him. I am so glad for the weekend. Today is my longest run in preparation for the 26.2 miles I will be running on Dec 5th. The official marathon was cancelled for 12/6, but our coach has planned a course for the group of us who were signed up so that we can "feel" like we still got to run it. It will be nice to still have met a goal. It is cold though today--it will be 39 degrees when we start---cold for me!
So I am finding that our work environment is exploding on the COVID front. Not employees, but in the schools. It seems that adults are bringing COVID into classrooms and then they are shutting down. Just yesterday I had 3 different people in my department (there are only 15 of us) who were told to stay home because they had been in a room earlier in the week with kids who tested positive for COVID. Uggh. Thank goodness most have next week off. We have districts flipping to distance learning between TG and New Years for fear of people getting together in groups and spreading the virus. We can't get that vaccine fast enough.
Carole: YAHOO vacation time! So happy for you! Did you have the girls last night? Hope that you might have a nice, calm day planned before the pie-making frenzy begins? At least you have time off so it doesn't feel like the WHOLE time is taken up with pie baking. Have you been able to get a walk or two in? I hope so -- also hoping that you have some sunshine to enjoy while you do it.
Sue: Oh man....I am SO sorry about Tonya! I feel for you and Gloria! So you are working today I think too? Maybe they can bring someone else in to help with all of those MEAPS dropping? When it rains, it pours it seems. Yes, seems like your decision to cancel the get together was a good one. I do hope that you don't spend the next two weeks feeling like every time you clear your throat or feel a tickle or wonder if your head hurts means you have COVID-- I have been there and it is not a good place to be. I'm so sorry! I wonder if you might get a COVID test on Tuesday or so just for your peace of mind? Hang in there my friend.

Jenny: Yep, it surely sound cold there! Oh the crab sounds so yummy though! My DH goes nuts if I buy them as he is starving and it takes forever to get the crab meat out....but I love it. Glad that you have a friend who loves the sport of crabbing! Yay for your days off too! You can feel like a lady of leisure and wear your jammies and slippers for as long as you want! It is supposed to be cold and clear here through next week--nice fall weather. Hope that you find some of the same!
Okay ladies, I have to go but will be back later. Hope that you all feel successful today in whatever your goals may be for the day!

Gabrielle: Thanks for starting us off this morning - seems we are on opposite "sides" of the thermometer again, we have 53 already this morning! HA! Already... it is (already) almost 9 AM! I have been up since 6:50, that's how long Eden slept this morning... some kind of record there I think! WHEW! I was awake from 4-6, maybe dozing, but mostly "awake", but stayed in bed - hoping for more! Zoë didn't come down until around 7:30, she has been getting up earlier than usual, but 7:30 isn't bad. They have played, and now are having some quiet "tablet" time while Grampa and I catch up on our stuff, before heading outside. We will tackle the outdoor Christmas lights, while it is warmer out there! Later we will get the girls home, and get the last of the pie shopping done at BJs. Tim was able to get a gift card "donation" from the club, so we will shop there for pretty much all we need. I'm taking Ken with me - to do the lifting! LOL
I do have a lot to get done around here before the Tuesday baking begins - but I have time, so I will have another cup of coffee and catch up ♥

Day 21 Gratitude: Sleeping ~ I have been sleeping better each night lately, last night was the first time in quite a while (that I can remember) laying there "thinking". May be because I was in the spare room/bed, might be something else - but I am thankful that I have been getting better sleep recently.
Gabrielle: WOW Kickboxing and core in one morning??? LOL I took a 1.2 mile walk yesterday! LOL Kind of funny, I was going to add 1 more block, but the one I added was more like 2! No side street where I thought there was!!! So I had to go further! Still managed to do it in under 21 minutes, I know it's not all about the speed, but I like to keep it to about 20 of my 30 minute break! I am a little "achy" this morning, not sure if it's the walking yesterday or the guest room mattress! LOL I am ordering a new one soon!
Oh yes, I agree... on my walk around "town" yesterday - I met a total of 5 people, all at different times, we each moved clear to the edges of the sidewalks, no interaction what-so-ever! Nice to live out here some of the time! Welcome to curfew! LOL I don't know of anyone here "enforcing" it either - but then again, I am not out at that time so I have no clue what's going on out there! I will say it seems an "odd" law to enforce - I mean seriously with so many homeless, and folks have no money, will they lock them up if they can't pay the fines? Yet, they let prisoners OUT due to Covid... seems quite a large circle to go 'round and 'round!
WOO HOO to DS21 having a job!! Shhh, our secret - but seriously when WILL our kids listen to us??
Thank you ♥ I do not feel very "strong" many days any more I seem to cry over almost everything - well, not like ALL DAY, but each day something brings him to the forefront of my mind - even Christmas songs!
Ahh, my "finally Friday" was a nice quiet day at work - Aleta was off, and no big fires to put out - just went about my day. I even sent some stuff to Accounting to post in my absence, so it doesn't hang out there all week while I am gone! Ohhhh, great idea... might have to schedule a pedicure for myself Monday!! Will see if Tracy is ready for one too. I won't do a mani as I am not supposed to wear nail polish while making pies! How nice to think about a family vacation next fall - yes Monterey was a nice place, but a bit chilly for my in July! LOL Hmm, yse, I guess being concerned about DS21 with a roommate - since you have no control over his "circles"... while I do know that for those if us that are working each day - we are very mask conscious and none of us "hang out" with others anyway!
Will you deliver a pie to DM so she has some to share over wine with you all?? Didn't you deliver BD cupcakes one time??
Jenny: Oh Happy Belated Birthday!! Sorry - somehow I missed that?? YAY that your friend likes to do the work and you get to enjoy the benefits of the crabs!
Thank you - I know I can share here... but I don't like to bring everyone "down" so early in the morning... he is always on my mind it seems ♥
WOW WHO would have 330 hours to build anyway?? That is 8 weeks!! LOL I like my vacations too much to just go without to build up like that! WHEW!!
Sue: Oh Dear... That would make me so darned ANGRY - if Tonya was taking risks and not sharing the worries with you all that work so close together!! UGH!! THIS is the reason for so much spread, and a worry I have every day with some of my co-workers, that they too would not share as they are supposed to! Not to mention leaving you shorthanded at month end. {{{hugs}}} to you and Gloria as you deal with the work and the anger!
WOO HOO for walking AWAY from the snack machine!! I think I should be thankful our office does not HAVE snack machines!
Oh yes, we will head to the town garage and get some sand... we always keep a bucket on the porch. Remember years ago Ken fell and needed like 19 staples?
Oh No - now Kellen? Yes, I guess the cancellation of TG is a good thing - although it will still be a difficult day - but MAN, your area was doing so GOOD for so long, WTH Happened out there?? Is it having schools re-opened?? Which BTW if it's rampant in schools, the kids had to get it from the parents... I mean kids don't just get exposed unless it's by the parents. UGH! It feels like a no win situation!!

Gabrielle: YAY for catching up with DS21! So nice that he calls you to discuss things. ♥
YAY for getting a long run in today - and how great your coach is giving you your OWN Marathon! Brrrrr - but you will warm up quickly!
Oh dear, see? If kids are bringing the virus to school, how are THEY getting it?? Sad that parents are not following guidelines for health and safety. Not sure I blame the schools - wanting to go back to distance learning - going to be another difficult school year - seems no "end" in sight for the school sessions! I am only hearing "June 2021"!
LOL Yes, girls are here - now they are dressed as Princess' and dancing.
Oh yes, yesterday's walk was beautiful and actually warm enough I had to take my fleece off while walking! YAY! Yeah, I have today that is not fully "scheduled" nor tomorrow and Monday - just puttering around to get the house cleaned up and decluttered before having up to 8 people here at any given time to get the pies done! LOL I have a big house and a large kitchen but even my kitchen with 6 adults and 2 kids will feel SMALL! I am looking forward to it though - more so than heading to the other place - just something about not having to head OUT with all the supplies - I think overall this will be a better time!
OK Time to get myself moving here. I do need to get the grocery list finalized, and get to work (again) on this DR Table! I ordered a couple of small cabinets with glass fronts, to hang in the dining room. Hoping to empty a couple of boxes that were filled with glassware when we got rid of the HUGE corner cabinet. Of course they were delivered this week, and Ken has started assembly - BUT - he needs another pair of hands, so Here.They.Sit.! Today after outside lights, I hope to get these assembled and HUNG so they are out of the way! I will not pull out the boxes of glassware until another time - maybe Black Friday, maybe not until after ths holidays! LOL
Sue: Hoping your morning of OT was productive - yes the $$ will come in handy, but keeping the work "current" is worth more than the cash! Sounds like a lot of work for you this coming week! {{{hugs}}}
Might po in later, never know how the day will go here today - between the girls AND having Ken home (AKA UNDERFOOT)
