This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends. Sending out happy Sunday vibes to all!
Susie - I hope y'all enjoyed your evening with DS and family. Glad to hear that you'll be able to spend time with all of the family at some point this week.
RobinMD - I'm sure your station work has to be very stressful. I think that considering all of the circumstances in your area, that a quiet day of relaxing without additional cooking or cleaning is probably just the thing for T.giving.
Jill - I hope the blood donation (or whatever blood product it was) went smoothly, and that you and DH had a good day.
Jana - if you're reading, I hope you're having a good weekend and are feeling better.
Janet - I guess you never really know what has gone down in families that causes them to lose contact. It kind of seems like you're the only one reaching out to your friends family when she needs something. That hardly seems right, I suspect the downfall is some problem on both sides of the relationship. I just think that they shouldn't be putting you in the middle, that's not at all fair.
Mark and I had a good football Saturday. I'm not really sure what is on the plan for today. We might have to pop out to Home Depot for a couple of things, but maybe not. It's stuff that can wait if it has to. I'll check back later after more coffee
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember, you are in control of how you show up in the world. I hope you choose to be big and not shrink for the comfort of others. Give yourself permission to take up space and bloom wildly without regret.
Good morning! Lora, we had a nice day. We ate at a Mexican restaurant we like which was yummy. I ended up talking with a friend from down south on the phone during DH's appt. and finished up the grading. Did you decide on the the pork loin for Thanksgiving? RobinMD, stay safe there, and thank you for all you do to help the health of others. Susie, how absolutely wonderful to spend time with your DDs this week. Gosh, your DD is so close to your home, that's great!! Where in FL is DS travelling to? I love hearing about your community projects, which is full of activity. I am sure the trees look fabulous! Janet, I hope the results wherever you go are quick and accurate. ((((hugs)))) So, I just don't understand your friend's son, they must be out-of-town? Jana, I hope you were able to get away or at least find some "me" time. Yesterday was nice with DH. Last night we watched a cute Christmas movie together, surprised and happy he's doing that this year. Today I have a little planning to do for school, not too much since there are only two school days this week. I'll head over to the fitness center later today. Yesterday I went to a little boutique that I love for some wintery type tops. I also found a dress that will be nice for school and Christmasy moments. It was quite fun! I hope everyone has a nice day!
Good Morning....got a text from YDD last evening that they were in big traffic on I-95 ---surprise - ha! They arrived at ODD's house at about 9:00 last night so I will see her today - YIPPEE. We enjoyed dinner with DSon and family.
Lora - great that if you WANT to go to HD you can, and if not you don't have to. I don't know why that made me think of light bulbs - lol. I wanted another 3-way bulb and could not believe they were $16 and that was at Walmart! Is that how much those things cost these days???
Jill - sounds like a wonderful evening for you and DH. Sounds like a very successful shopping trip to the little boutique too. DS will be traveling to Jacksonville. He also has to drive to Corolla, NC tomorrow morning for a house inspection (and back tomorrow evening...ugh) before leaving after school on Tues for FL.
I hope everyone else has a restful, peaceful, happy Sunday...it sounds like you all have plans for that kind of day!
Jill - So glad yesterday was a good day. I miss clothes shopping. In ATL I had a "shopping buddy" and we always thought of it as a sport and bargain hunting game. Lol. But since we moved here and I no longer work I certainly don't need "office clothes" and actually I rarely need "go somewhere that requires more than yoga pants" clothes. haha. I think it's been almost 18 months since I last did a specific shop for clothing. DD had come for a visit and we went to Belk and a couple of other spots to cruise the clearance racks. I have ordered a couple of pairs of jeans from Amazon since then as well as some shoes, but that's about it.
Susie - Oh heavens, yes! Lightbulbs are outrageous since they switched over to these energy saving, fancy schmancy things. I think all of my lamps have 3 way capability, but I have standard 60Watt bulbs in them all. It would be handy sometimes to have the 3 way, but I just can't bring myself to pay that kind of price. I guess all those years of getting 4 packs of bulbs at Kroger for $1.00 and then getting my employee discount on top of that ruined my bulb expectations. Haha!
Well, DH is up and moving now and it looks like we'll hold off for the HD and go Mon or Tue afternoon, once he finishes with work. If we go that time of day, it's generally MUCH less crowded anyway. So now IDK what the rest of today holds, other than the shower I'm about to take and I think we're going to have some scrambled eggs topped with queso for "brunch" and then dinner this evening will be ribeye steaks and some shrimp scampi for a little surf & turf action.
Lora and Susie, light bulbs!!!😳 I know! DH and I shopped for them on Friday... some for outside flood lights and then in a recessed ceiling flood light for the bedroom. We ONLY purchased the box for the bedroom... we have to space out the purchasing since they are so expensive! I truly had no idea until Friday. I was shocked.
Happy Sunday to all, It is overcast and a little cool today. I was going to do more painting on the pool house, but it is supposed to rain sometime this evening, so I'm not sure I should do that. Maybe tomorrow. I do need to make a quick trip to the store for dog food and a couple of things for the week. I hope it isn't too crowded. Susie, glad your DD had a safe trip and everyone is together. What a good week it will be Jill, hope you get some relaxing time today. I haven't been to a restaurant in a LONG time, but Mexican might be my favorite. Lora, I love my eggs with salsa. I haven't tried queso, but that sounds good. Hope you enjoy your Sunday, whatever you get into. Janet, hopefully you are having a nice Sunday. I agree with Lora, that it is so unfair that your friend's family continues to leave you bearing all responsibility for her. Jana, hope your weekend has been a good one. Well, I hope to bbl....I am going to get a little more coffee (hoping it helps the headache I woke up with this morning), and get ready to go to the store this morning. Have a great day everyone! Hi Everyone,
I got a good amount of things accomplished yesterday. It is my friend's son in law and his wife. Now that his father is deceased I really don't know that he has any legal obligation for taking care of her. As far as I know I think she has a cousin or maybe more than one that lives in Virginia but I don't know that she talks to them and I believe her past husband's brother someplace that is still living but that is about it.
I texted him her phone number but I can be fairly certain that he hasn't called unless he called her later after I talked to her. I kind of doubt it though.
Susie, I am sure you are enjoying everyone in your family being close. We aren't doing anything now. My sister that lives further away is going to deliver some food on Friday but she doesn't do turkey. If we had been in school we usually have a turkey meal but now that is not happening either.
I was/ am frustrated this morning because I got a note about our health benefit enrollment being only 5 more days to complete. I dont know if any messages had been sent before and I didnt receive them as sometimes I havent and found out from my friend. I tried to log in first and thought I had changed my password successfully but for some reason I didnt see the section where you confirm the selections. A little later I realized I wasn't going to the correct place and tried to log in and it wont let me as I attempted too many times. But get this, they asked for my birth year and I enter it and it says invalid account. Grr!! Lol. I have to now wait until tommorow and see if it can be corrected to do this or have someone do it for me. So frustrating!! Obviously I need all my benefits especially health and dental.
At 11:O0 I am supposed to be having a zoom session with my sisters and brother and maybe his wife. Not really in the mood for it right now but maybe it will cheer me up.
Jill, glad you had a nice time at the Mexican restaurant. We are now restricted to outdoor dining, no gyms, movies, theaters. It's getting too cold for that. I have heard that some places are putting in heaters and some are nearby a horticulture garden and are eating inside because they are usually heated. Have a great day!
Today has been not such a good day. Starting with the frustration with the password. Then the zoom was good. Just right after that our family worker texted and said there was another free covid testing but it was down a bit past work.
I got it done and didnt have to wait long at all. I am walking back to where I thought I parked my car and dont see it. I walk around thinking maybe I parked it along a different street and dont find it. At first I thought it was stolen but then someone said it may have been towed. I called my sister and she came there. We drove around looking for it. She said to press my alarm on my key. We almost left but we drove down one more street and we saw the car light up and beeping. I was so relieved!! I dont remember parking down that far and it's possible that I didnt notice it as that wasnt thinking where I parked it at or didnt go quite that far down when I was walking. So that is my story and I am sticking to it..
I just kept thinking about the financial stuff and having to take a bus again. Ugh! My mouth was so dry. The funny thing is that I hadnt put on a bra and or my belt so my pants kept falling down and wasnt comfortable. Ugh! [
Someone has their laundry in the machine forever and I finally got tired of going down there and checking and seeing it in both of the dryers that I took the clothes out of one dryer and put into the other dryer. I hope it is the same person's stuff. I assume so and they either may be mad or it still may be there when I get my stuff out which will be soon. So my test is done and except for the car fiasco the line wasnt too long and it wasnt too bad. Hope everyone had a better day than me.Take care!
