Good morning all. Slept great again last night and very grateful. Nothing pressing on today's menu. Today and tomorrow are the last 2 days of LuLa's medication and soaking...she has a Vet appointment tomorrow. Paws look much better, but will follow whatever instruction the Vet tells us.
Thinking of making a meatloaf for supper rather than the pasta fest. Thanksgiving is this week LOL and I figure I should start scaling back...we shall see....
Wishing all a peaceful Sunday and I shall CBL

Hey all,
Happy Sunday and I enjoyed reading everyone's posts on Friday night and yesterday. We stayed home this weekend because we had home maintenance (lawn, cleaning, removing A/C units, washing windows, etc) to do here. Everything takes time and DH did the bulk with my assistance. I also baked some Molasses cookies - not much sugar and a little treat for him. Today I have been paying bills, talking to the builder a bit and sending him a statement of the amount of $$ we have paid, etc. I plan to make a double batch of Swedish spritz Christmas cookies today - bought all the ingredients when I shopped yesterday. I am mailing all of them to our DGKs in CA. If we can't be there in person, at least they can enjoy some cookies from Grandma. I miss them so much. Hopefully, they will mail okay. I'll package them well! I'll make some in different colors - green, red and probably pink for Sophie! LOL
Pam, men can be stressful for sure. I am glad things are on an even keel. Your DH sounds a lot like mine and very stubbornly independent! Mine has had hip and leg issues for ages and has seen the doctors who ruled out something serious so far, but he refuses to even take an Advil and limps around in pain saying he will "walk it off." That man can drive me nuts. He did come out with some wonky blood tests lately that are worrisome and he has to have a plasma test as his protein was too high. They think it is probably related to the meds he takes but it scares me because it is symptomatic of more serious issues, too. But, I'm a worrier and he has an appointment next week and he has an SPEP test soon.
It is cloudy today and I need to get rolling to walk the doggies. After the cookie baking, plan to relax a bit. We are having the Ann dinner today of pasta and Italian sausages with a salad. Lunch will be extra light. Breakfast was an egg and English muffin with a breakfast sausage. Oh, I love Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Raisin toast, too! I have it around often. I have to put a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top for extra goodness. :-) My mom also loved it.
Pam, meant to add that we have similar reading tastes. I have American Dirt reserved at the library but I have been waiting a while. Sue, I just started your book after I finished Deacon King Kong. I loved Deacon King Kong. The writing was like poetry and the names of the characters were a riot as I mentioned. Good, good, story!!! I am going to read another of his, too.
Ann, enjoy your meatloaf! Sounds yummy. Glad Lula is nearly done with her toe soaking regimen. She probably has come to enjoy it now. :-)
TTFN...

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday!! We have our first snowfall today. It is not sticking to the pavement or walkways, but it has covered the grass, and has been a steady fall since early morning. It is also collecting on the tree branches. Quite pretty, really!
I got a lot done around here yesterday and was very happy about that last evening. Also DH cleared off the patio and made a spot for the new fire pit in the garage up on a shelf and out of the way. We both felt very productive. I washed & dried all his work clothes and jacket as well as some sheets, towels and rugs.
This morning I woke up cold and decided it was time to get out the heated mattress pad. It warms the bed much better than the electric blanket (which is great for Fall). I was going to change the bed anyway, so I put on the heated mattress pad and fresh flannel sheets and a down-alternative-filled blanket with the quilt I already had on. I had decided not to put on the Christmas quilt until next week, but now that the pad and blanket are changed, it will be an easy and short process. So everything I took off is washed, dried and put away. That was a big job, but now it is done!
We had oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast and I am waiting for a call from DH to discuss what he will bring home for our lunch. I'm leaning toward some kind of salad. Since it is SNOWING, tonight's supper will be tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Yay!!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Judy sounds like you and DH got a lot accomplished. Happy baking. I love homemade cookies and the ones you are making are a favorite of mine. I'm sure the family will enjoy getting the care package packed with love Praying all goes well with DH's test. MEN...nuff said! Sue I envy you your snow. At least you have something pretty to look at and a wonderful celebration meal as well LOL. I am making my mom's meatloaf recipe so I'll feel like a kid again. Nothing special just the addition of a can of tomato 3/4 cup Italian Progresso breadcrumbs egg pepper and onion. Will round that off with mashed potato and peas. Quick and easy and will have more meatloaf for another meal. That's the part I love the best. I did take a walk but with no sunshine it felt very cold out there to me. Not sure if I'll go out again...time will tell. Pam praying that DH's foot is doing well (and you too) Time to get a move on. I so want to finish my book.

Ann ~ I used to make meatloaf, but haven't in a long time. Originally DH said he didn't care for meatloaf, but he absolutely loved meatloaf sandwiches! I used to make it mostly for that. That was back in the day when he worked long days and I always packed him a lunch. Now he tends to be around home, and if he eats it is at the place he is working. You brought back some fond memories. Hope you enjoy your supper!!
DH brought home Green Apple Salads and they were wonderful! I ate the whole thing - with a wg pita bread. I am still quite full, but have set out our bread to thaw and the makings for our supper. Shortly DH will be leaving to go Kroger shopping and when he gets back we will eat supper. There doesn't seem to be anything on TV tonight, so it will probably be an early night for us?? Unless we go into On Demand and watch some things we missed this week.
Judy ~ We were posting at the same time earlier today (GMTA). I just know your kiddos will love receiving the cookies! I quit baking a few years ago, and last year a friend (on the other side of the continent) sent us a big box of homemade goodies and they were definitely appreciated. Those are the nicest kind of gifts!! Hope your DG is okay!
Pam ~ I am so sorry about you DH. Men!! Honestly!! They can be so frustrating! Some things we just can't do anything about, but it is still worrisome! You are quite the gardening queen!
It feels good to have absolutely everything done around here with a new week starting. I won't be going into school this week at all - since Monday & Tuesday are Conference Days (and we aren't allowed to be in the same room) and Wednesday is a no-pay day and then Thursday and Friday are holidays. Sounds like a paid vacation to me <LOL>
Have a restful evening. Sweet dreams to all ......

Hey again,
Ann, I also make meatloaf with tomato sauce and I add oatmeal and onions. We love it. This was a recipe from our early married days that I found in my Amanda radar-range cookbook!
My sausage and pasta dinner is bubbling away and nearly ready.
Sue, the heated mattress pad sounds great! I’m checking into it. Does it have dual controls?
Spritz are made and decorated and ready to ship. 😃 🍪
bbl have a great night all.

Ann ~ I may have to make a meatloaf soon now that it's on my mind!
We had tomato soup and grilled cheese and it was delicious!!
