Countdown to Thanksgiving Counting our blessings that we are all still here in these terrible unpredictable times. Prayers for those around us who are ill or who have friends and family who are ill or have lost a loved one this year. Hope that covers everyone πForgive me as it is hard to do a lot of personals as a race against the Thanksgiving clock. At least the clock has been pushed down since Bob and Laura have a greed the 4 oβclock is a better time to eat Thursday then at noon. I will PTMH. Dinner is panko covered chicken breasts with salads and a vegetable. I will make Bob mincemeat pie this morning and will spend the rest of the day trying to decorate the Christmas tree and move everything off the dining room table so I can put it back together for Thanksgiving dinner. The weather is just lovely outside for most of my walking is in the house. I hope everyone sleeps well and has a good productive day.

We, too, will be watching the KC Chiefs, June!
Our day is ending sort of discombobulated.
Toots napped most of the day away, and I was happy to listen to him snore. **He is some better - just a bit sore but yesterday's backache is gone. When he got up to watch the Jets game, he had an English muffin with his tea and afterward exclaimed how much he had enjoyed it (a good thing, IMO).
Laraine did NOT have the stone removed. Instead, they pushed it back into her kidney as they placed the stent <eeewww>. They want her to go back "in a couple of weeks" and the doctor will either use laser or sonic method to smash it. So at 5 PM she was in recovery, targeting to go back to her room for 7 PM and hopefully to be discharged (although I have my own opinion about discharging ANYONE that late at night).
We watched the Packers/Colts in overtime and will now move to the 8:30 game.
**When I woke up this morning, Toots told me that he'd been up all night as yesterday's back pain migrated around to the front and down to the groin. Jeez, just like Summer 2019, when HE ended up in the ER and the final diagnosis was "symptoms consistent with passing a kidney stone". Since last night's pain had abated (same scenario as in 2019 but the initial pain was not as severe) we are taking a wait-and-see position, although he is on a regimen of drinking cranberry juice or hot tea, 1/3 cup every half-hour he's awake (he is usually a camel, occasionally sipping, and we are going for a drinks-a-LOT day).

I will track on paper and apps, stay positive, hydrate, focus on power foods, might exercise...maybe? Scale was down to 175.4 this morning.
Last night we talked to our granddaughters but they were busy with video games and had a swim meet in the afternoon and our son said hi and is hoping the vaccine will find him soon so he can begin international travel again - safely.
Today is my husband's 82nd birthday and the car battery is dead so no going out for rotisserie chicken or to buy produce. Not sure what he will do once the battery is jumpstarted by his nephew this afternoon...take it to the mechanic if open or??? Whatever... He asked for red beans and of course we don't have dry ones as there were none in the shop last time we shopped but I did find some frozen from a previous cooking so have them in the sun hoping they will defrost.
SUSI: Did Jack figure out how to open the door?
BEE: Glad the nursing home move went well.
BECKY: Hope it is allergies and you will be perky again soon.
JUNE: I did tell my daughter that I had no idea what size I would be when I landed at goal weight. She said she was getting rid of mostly size 12's and I have no reference point for that so it is better to buy for me when I get where I want to be.
PAM: Glad you checked in and are doing well!
AUDREY: Thank you for starting the thread...see that another one was started and everyone posted there SO read your post and am replying to it. It sounds BUSY at your house baking and decorating and all the rest! Take time to sit and put your feet up!
MJ: I hope Toots' pain is gone soon and that if it persists he will see someone. My thought was hernia but perhaps a kidney stone if he has had them before? Keep us posted!
ANN: Hope you slept well and wake refreshed.
LADONNA: Hope you had a good day!

Good morning, June - Ann - Becky - Cathy - Audrey - Bee - LaDonna - Susi - Pam - and AWF!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid...
Happy birthday to your DH, Cathy!
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
Toots napped, on and off, all day yesterday and when he wasn't napping he was watching football. He's still sawin' wood (well, it is too early for him to be up). So I've got <fingers&toes crossed> that yesterday was a one-and-done. We'll keep pushing fluids for a few days in any case.
Rain this morning. Temps are in the upper 50*s but as the rain passes through the temps will drop. Forecasts are for a cloudy week and a rainy Thanksgiving Day - so as it has been with many things in 2020, the sunshine will have to come "from the spirit".
I'm tired this morning. Yes, I slept all night. But somehow I'm still tired. It's more like a bone-weariness. I have a bank errand today and a YM Zoom staff meeting at 5:30 PM but that's all that is definite. Perhaps today will be MY "nap day".
Coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... morning prayers...
ππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦π Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! ππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦πππ¦π

Ann Mmmm... bet your mom's recipe has the best flavor. Meatloaf makes me think of mom. It's her fav. I always made that for meatloaf for my parents.
Audrey Are you do any baking for the holidays? I may make tapioca pudding or pie. Have not yet decided.
Becky Would gladly send a bit of rain your way now and then. Will you & Kenneth have to adjust your grocery shopping around any holiday hours or crowds?
Bee Sending may prayers as you rebuild your strength & make adjustments.
Cathy Happy birthday to your DH. Hope that his nephew can jump the battery and a trip to town gets everything squared away. You may be wearing a size 10 anyway. π
Mj Sending prayers for Toots & his sister. Kidney stones are miserable. An afternoon nap for you and a slow- paced day sounds good.
LaDonna Is this a very short work week for you? Not that I am teaching in-person, but on Th. week classes only meet M & Tues. Pam Hope this is a keep on keeping day for you in the best possible way.
Susi Will be exciting to hear all about Lily's arrival. Hope your work week goes smoothly.

Thanks LaDonna. Praying that she makes out well also. I won't bother to go as they don't let you in. That plus the fact that it's raining cats and dogs will keep me indoors today. Hope you find the gifts that you need at Hamrick's. Good luck with your appointment.
