This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends! Sending out happy holiday week Monday vibes to all!
Hopefully, since it's a short week these few days leading up to the holiday will treat us all kindly and gently.
Lots to do around here over the next couple of days. DH was rearranging his office a couple of weeks ago and piled and bunch of his piles in the guest room. Well, that has got to go. He's so bad about just shifting the crap around instead of just going through it and making a permanent decision. <sigh>
We did end up getting out for a little bit yesterday. I found a bit of a "hidden gem" online and wanted to go check it out in person. It's a small park on one of the mountain tops on the other side of the river. 12 years ago it was private land with a home and when the owner passed, she left it to the state with the provision that they would turn her 13 acres on the bluff into a park. The views are AMAZING. I wish I'd known about it a few weeks ago when we were peaking on fall color. Yesterday was overcast and very grey, so the pics I got were not the best, but it's less than 15 miles from the house so I know we'll go back. I want to see it with a beautiful sunset, on a bright sunny day, etc. It's was really incredible.
Janet - Oh goodness! I'm sure your heart must have been pounding out of your chest when you couldn't find your car. Thank goodness it all worked out. I guess you were so focused on getting that test out of the way you just didn't remember where you parked. I can see that happening to me. Haha! But seriously, I know you must have been so relieved to see the lights flash when you pushed that button on your key fob! Also, glad to hear that you got the test out of the way. Fingers crossed for a fast and favorable result.
RobinMD - I hope you were able to shake the headache and enjoy the rest of your day yesterday.
Well, I'm about ready for coffee #2. I'll pop back in later.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will never be truly happy if you continuously hold on to things that make you sad.
Hi Everyone, Its raining and I don't have to drive to work.Yeah! I have my zoom sessions soon so better get moving soon and get dressed. Yesterday as I was leaving to go to the park where the testing took place I went into the trunk of my car to get a mask that I have been storing there. I know I had an unopened package that I was about to open and both packages were empty. I had them inside a puzzle box..now I am wondering did I leave the trunk open and somebody just took them or did someone find that key I lost? It seems to me if they found the key then they'd take the car and not just the masks. Nothing else seems to be missing. Can a car's locks and ignition key be changed? I know not cheap probably but if someone did find the key then they can take it. If they do have it not sure where it dropped but I think near work which is not a great location and for sure might have been taken already. I think I am going to check around and see if that can be done..probably the dealer would do it I guess. Not sure that I would trust some small place to do it even tho it might be cheaper. Ok. Need to get moving. Check back later..Have a good day!
Well, I just did something supremely dumb this morning. I reached into the back of the guest room closet to get out the tote that I use to store the clean sheets and pillows for that room and was lifting it up & out to get it over some things that were in front of it, and I tweaked my back. I immediately took some ibuprofen, got in the hot shower to try to loosen it up, got out and threw some chicken thighs, seasoning and stock into the crockpot to let that do the cooking for me today, and now I'm in my chair, feet up on the ottoman to try to keep my back muscles stretched out and using the heating pad. I am SO MAD at myself right now. So much to do this week and here I am just sitting. IDK why I didn't just move the stuff out from in front of the tote so I could slide it out of the closet. SO MAD! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! I did get the guest room partially ready before my stupidity kicked in though. But the beds need to be made up, and the floor swept (all things that require my back...Lol) - but I won't do that until Mark gets his crap out of there. Janet - I suspect rekeying an ignition plus doors & trunk would be quite expensive. I would think it would be more likely that you either left the trunk open or maybe you were doing something else in the trunk and they accidently fell out or that perhaps you put them somewhere else when you had other things on your mind. I'm thinking that if somebody found the lost key, it would be a pretty big coincidence if they were able to match it up with your car, and then all they did was took masks. I'm betting they would have taken the car.
Good morning,
Never made it back here. I got busy doing lots of laundry and doing some bank account balancing and lots of piddly things around the house. It is sunny out this morning, so I plan on taking the dogs for a walk later. I still have more laundry and vacuuming, and that is about it for me. At least I only work 2 1/2 days this week, so my stress will be a little bit limited. I am off Saturday, but picked up a shift at the station on Sunday.
Lora, I hope you are able to stop your back from tightening up. I hate when I do something like that. I really liked the pictures yesterday. I was wondering if that was a different view of the lake, but it looked like a river. What a great thing that lady did, to have her land turned into a park!
Jana, I think a lot of places will be going back to WFH for a while. This recent wave is devastating the medical community and it needs to be slowed down until the vaccine is available to all. It will be better soon. I hope your work goes smoothly today.
Janet, sorry for the issues yesterday! I'm glad you found your car before you gave up! If I don't park in the same general area of the lot when I go to the grocery store, it always throws me off...I just try to act casual and pretend I knew all along where my car was! HA!
Well, I'm going to get busy here and start doing something! I hope everyone is having a good start to the week, and I am waving to all to follow,
RobinMD
RobinMD - The lake is actually part of the river (the Tennessee river). It's often hard to tell where the river ends and the lake begins, but as this appeared to part of the shipping lane and I saw channel markers for the barges, so I'm guessing it's considered river at that point. Also not too terribly far up the way in the opposite direction that the pics were taken, you can see the tops of the cooling towers of the Bellefont Nuclear power station - and that part is definitely considered river there. Sounds like you get some good time off later this week. I hope you get lots of time for R&R. You've more than earned that!
Ack - I just lost my long post. Errrr.
I didn't realize I had not posted all weekend or since last Thursday. The last time I posted I was not in a good space mentally.
I did message the exfriend back and basically told her I was sending her a message for me - not for her. I told her I need closure with the situation and the the only way I felt like I could get that would be to tell her exactly how she made me feel and that is what I did. I told her I did miss the relationship with her DD and I did not feel like there was a way for me to remain in her DD life without some connection to her since her DD is only 9. I asked her not to contact me again. I have not heard back from her and if she had responded I probably would not have responded back to her. I said what I needed to say and I am moving on. I do feel like I got closure.
I feel like I am in a better head space at the moment. I honestly never know how long that is going to last.
Lora glad you enjoyed your adventure yesterday. So sorry about the back! DH just needs to help you finish getting that room ready! Take it easy today and hopefully your back will feel better.
Janet the missing masks are a mystery. So weird. I bet one of Lora's ideas are likely.
Robin I hope you are able to relax some on your short week.
I need to go figure out something to eat for lunch.
Hello again, Well I wish I could have taken pictures, but I had my hands full....I took Cyrus to the pet store in town and gave him a bath! He (and the others) have been really itchy this year, and I figured he would enjoy the ride and wandering around the store. He did NOT want to get in the tub, but once the bath got going, it felt really good. And I wasn't sure how the blow drier would go over with him, but he didn't mind it one bit! HA! He kept shaking and I got as wet as he did by the end. The girl that works there brought him some broken up cookies to give him while he got his bath, and afterward I got a bag of food, and he wandered around and smelled all the bins with treats in them....he was funny, like a little boy in Toys-R-Us! On my next day off, I'm going to take Forrest. Maybe I'll get a picture of him. I can wash little Duchess at home, but these guys are so big that it is like a water ride at an amusement park by the time I'm done! Other than that, I just washed all my work clothes and got a couple of Christmas gifts on line for my girls. ODD is a fantastic artist and is always putting her work on instagram and fb. I found her these really cool watercolor pens that you can use wet or dry, and they blend like paint (she really likes working with watercolor). I think she will really like them. I need to get her more canvases, too. I found a really cool gardening calendar for YDD. She is SO into gardening since she was off for the initial quarantine...it has all the info about planting using stages of the moon, the temps, hours of daylight, etc. Really informative, and sort of like a farmer's almanac with so many tidbits of info. Just a fun thing that she can use. We aren't getting much for each other this year, and I will give them a little money, but I get the most enjoyment in finding little things that they can use and would have fun with. None of us need stuff that just lays around! Jana, it can be so cathartic to get out all those things you needed to say to your ex-friend. And now she fully knows how she hurt you, and will know why you don't want her in your life anymore. Sorry about losing that post! I hate when that happens! Lora, I bet that would have been gorgeous up there when the leaves were at peak! You can look forward to some beautiful spring hikes when the forest starts to come back to life... Is that a man-made lake? Well, I need to feed the dogs and see if I want something for dinner. I have been craving a pizza from the little place in town, but I have so much food right now that I can't justify it! Maybe over the weekend I will treat myself. I'm not hungry right now, so it is hard to come up with anything I feel like eating, but I don't want to eat late. I also need to get my scrubs out for tomorrow, and figure out lunch. I probably won't get here tomorrow (long day), but I'll be back at some point. I hope you are all starting off a good week - I know you aren't that thrilled, Jana, with the news of working from home but at least you can hang out with the dogs more! Waving to all, RobinMD
Good evening, Lora, that sounds like a gem for sure! And, only 15 minutes from your home??? Your back! Oh dear... please please take it easy. Ouch! Glad you have that heating pad now. RobinMD, what a productive day! There's a place here to take the dogs to bathe them. I've thought of trying it, but for now we endure it here. I am thinking it's more comfortable for the dogs with the big tub and stuff?? Gosh, you found some fun gifts today. I am sure the gifts will be so appreciated. Susie, I bet you are enjoying your DDs today! Jana, sorry for the downer news with staying at home. Glad you got the closure you were looking for. (((((hugs))))) Janet, that's strange with the masks. Maybe they fell out without anyone noticing? How'd the zoom class go today? My internet was out at school today... so no online students today. I am so glad it's on a non-working type of day. PHew! Tonight I am meeting a couple of coworkers and my old PT for tacos. I can't wait to see the PT, I miss him! We are sitting outside at a restaurant I haven't been to yet. Waving hi to all of you!!
Hi again, I was able to get my new password for my benefit enrollment and completed it. They usually make a big deal about it in advance. This year 5 days before it's due and if I hadnt seen that I wouldn't have thought about doing it. Jana, glad that you feel like you got some closure with your x- friend. I have one friend the one that I work with that sometimes our friendship feels like it's walking on eggshells at times.
Well, my car is still there..I guess it would depend where the key was lost at. I have a coworker who lives in the general area near work. Her car was stolen recently. If she still has the cart stole they weren't getting a great car. Unless she got just fixed even her air conditioner didnt work. Ok, sorry but am falling asleep. Gn.
Jana - so glad you checked in and have yourself back in a better mental/emotional place. Good job working through all of that!
RobinMD - Yes, the lake is man made. It was created when TVA the dam here for hydroelectric power in the 1930s. The lake itself meanders all over the place and has a million nooks and crannies, and off shoots and has almost 1,000 miles of shoreline. I can just picture Cyrus getting his fancy store bought bath. Lol. We used to do the same for our Lab. My little Lily was small enough to bath in the utility sink in the laundry room. She didn't love it, but there was a window over the sink, so I'd let her stand up with her front paws on the window seal and look into the back yard while I bathed her, and that made it a lot easier for both of us. Haha. Oh I know your DD is going to absolutely love the watercolor pens.
Jill - I couldn't be happier that I bought this heating pad and ended up not needing it at the time. Ha! I'm still very sore this evening, but it has loosened up a bit. I'm wondering what the morning will bring when I go to climb out of bed. Enjoy your Taco Monday w/friends! That sounds like fun.
Janet - So glad you were able to resolve the password issue and get your insurance selections made. Thank goodness, right?
