Today starts the first 'Back to Home Office' day - which is my dining room table this week - groan - I thought maybe I could move Lindsey's desk (the new one we purchased last Spring that I used) but she is strongly claiming it - but seriously? I don't think she uses it! She does most of her grad school work sitting on her bed! Hmm...anyways, I am all set up in the DR and I told the family I will bring the room screen up and set it to block part of the DR off from the LR for some privacy and a gently reminder, "Mom is working!"
I see we have 2 pages of posts from yesterday and I need to catch up!

Yesterday was a bit hectic - my DSIL was texting me back and forth and came across that her anxiety about Thanksgiving was strong - so I just called her. Enough texting, just talk to me! We had a few laughs and agreed, with Carly being in PITT this weekend (even though they have to wear PPE suits, shields, N-95 masks that suction to your face!) she is still in Pittsburgh's hotel, Ubers, and a roommate. Meanwhile, Julie (DN) works in a Nursing Home with Positive COVID cases in her staff! She is constantly 'getting swabbed' but we know unless you catch the active virus just right, you won't know if you are asymptomatic. Currently they have Julie living in their finished basement, isolating from the rest of family due to her constant exposure at work. So, long story short, we cancelled plans for getting together at DSIL's house. She brought over a 15 lb turkey! that she was planning to cook in addition to her other 15 lb turkey - I gave her a nice bottle of wine and a pie! Which is what we were bringing - it was a good laugh and she teased me she was "Meals on Wheels" dropping off food on our front porch! Carly is deeply disappointed she was one of the causes for our decision but it's OKAY! No guilt meant...plus seriously, who knows how we are getting exposed at this point. It could by DH at work, it could be Linds at the Brewery, it could be me from dashing into a store! It's just time to hunker down again...
Okay, gotta get a serious MOVE on...it's MONDAY and be sure to add some extra movement to your day!

Will catch up after work!

Mornin' Christine ~ Thanks for starting us this morning! Good luck with your first "work from home" day today {{{hugs}}} - we know it won't be "easy"! Ken is off picking up Zoë for me! He offered so I said OK, may as well have the first "lazy" day of my vacation, right??
It is only 39 degrees and RAINING here - YUCK... but good day for completing my cleaning/de-cluttering/prepping for tomorrow! I will enjoy another cup of coffee, and the warmth of my pellet stove while I catch up here!
Day 23 Gratitude: My knowledge and upbringing: Meaning I KNOW how to get this pie sale done~ Yes I have a lot of help ~ But basically we all know what we are doing! I was brought up "baking" with Ma and Gramma, learned a lot over the years, even helping DMIL with her catering (side line) has given me more knowledge about cooking/baking for large numbers! I am not even stressed about it (right now)! My sister threw me a monkey wrench for Wednesday and I was stressed and angry, but that's over - I know it won't impact me/us a lot - and it's just her way of taking control of the situation!
Sue: I am still so sad for you - not only giving up your TG but having to deal with the wrath of your girls as well! {{{hugs}}}
LOL Yep, will be a crazy day next Friday - but I am not worried - just LOL that anything that "happens" (or doesn't) is out of my control! I didn't agree to give K the day off! That's on Crystal - and OH yeah, even "on Kaitlin" for even asking!! I had already let everyone know that was my training morning!
Thank goodness for Gloria, having your back, and helping you through the day!
Thank you - I feel kind of "odd" saying I am glad for Matt to NOT be dealing with this Sh!tShow AKA Covid! But i know you all know what I mean! At the bank we have very little work from home now! I know Jess is only in the office 3 days the other 2 she is working (??) from home. Even Amanda is back full time - but we all wonder for how long. I mean if they close schools she may be out again! I am waiting for the day - we too are told to wear a mask even at our own desk... unless in an office with the door closed. It won't be "fun" but hey then at least people won't "forget" to put them on when they leave their desk! THAT bugs me to no end! HOW do you "forget" it after 6 months? SMH
I would be very surprised if Kathy "caves" on her lack of masks around us. She is one that KNEW the virus would be gone after the election! I will ask if she wants us to wear them. She is even coming up tomorrow for pie baking! I told her she doesn't have to ~ but she insists!
UGH Trust me I hear ya'... and I do recall Josh (my boss) being very ADAMENT that "sick time" is not PTO... but I guess he has turned a blind eye - or honestly doesn't have a clue about what time they are using?
{{{{{HUGS}}}}} Sue, I know... and quite frankly the only reason we ARE still having TG as a family, is the fact we are all interacting every week throughout the whole thing. I mean, I have the girls pretty much every Saturday still - so they are together. I go to their houses, or they come here... my sisters still have either 1 or both of the girls on any given "day off", and we are all at Kathy's to do pick up or return!
OH yes, we are all well aware Jaclyn could at any time go into lock down again - she did it over Easter, so we are all just holding our breath!

Good morning. Just stoping in to say hi. Work is crazy. Starting to be another TP scare but I am prepared at the grocery store to survive for longer than last time lol. Thanksgiving week and so far only one employee out do to contract tracing. I contacted her the other day and she said she feels good and no symptoms of Covid. Other issues with employees still seem to remain 😕🙁. Still so frustrating as I feel they are old enough I shouldn’t be dealing with same thing day after day. Anyway I wanted to stop in and let you all know I’m still here. Will try to check in later after work if I don’t fall asleep which has been my issue lately. So sorry

Sue: I am so happy you find so much benefit from your oils! I use them here and there, but nothing like some of you all do! WHEW My DD is almost breaking my bank here! LOL
It is such a sad place we are these days where you can't trust the parents to take care of the kids - while they are not in school! Oh dear... sorry that Pat's DGD has out the household in jeopardy! THIS - This is why I will gladly wear a mask at my own desk All.Day.Long. and not complain. I may start anyway - with or without CEO ORDERS!
Glad you are OK with OT... maybe it was good for you - to be working instead of at home thinking?
Yes, all those election rallies - UGH YES So glad Sarah & Josh didn't get to them! Well I did see on the news our county did have some cases this past week... has me wondering, did I misread the last news flash? Anyway, we supposedly have 9 cases this week!
LOL Well my nap never happened! LOL I am not a napper either, I was watching TV, and got into a few movies... came down to get stew started in the IP, went back up, came down to eat, went back... LOVE my "pause" button! LOL I can pause the movie where it is and continue when I go back up - then FF through the ads. Our tree will (finally) come down today! No ornaments, but agree the peaceful white lights will help calm the soul ♥
Ahhh, "monkey wrench" ~ Well my sister has decided she needs the 9 pies ordered at the school where she works NEED to be DONE so she can deliver them before school gets out at 12:30! UGH! The flyer said ready for pick up after 2... SHE DECIDED This wasn't good enough for the teachers/staff that get out at 12:30! UGH! Anyway - so not only do those pies have to be ready "early", that also takes her OUT of the equation of baking at her house Wednesday after 12. Soooooo, we will be down to just our oven when she heads out at NOON! She will NOT leave her house empty with the oven on. Like I said not a huge deal, just getting started earlier today, but like I said, pretty much just her way of "taking control"!

Oh Sue - YES! Glad you have David as the voice of calm for you! That's what I was thinking too - as with our "circle" here, but our circles don't really have other circles co-mingled in here!
well I have to say YAY for PA!! I wish ALL ACROSS THE NATION we could have a flight ban of some kind! I have been saying that all along!
Ummm, hmmm, OK Sarah sees it as OK for Kellen to be outside with his friend during "quarantine"? Oh Sue - SMH
LOL I know, and Ken SWEARS he DID plug the lights in and they all lit! He wasn't LOL like I was!
Sounds like a good plan for your time off - glad you are still taking some, but yeah, since you can roll them, I would too - if I could!
Gabrielle: YES! We too are thankful for fewer shortages in the grocery stores. Ken still can't get some things into his store - and some shelves were pretty bare in Wal-Mart the other night, but for the most part we are OK in that area too! Thankful that NONE of our pie supplies are out of stock! Although BJs did have a limit of 1 bag of flour per person! Glad I only needed the 1 12# bag this year! Oh 1 store was OUT of evaporated milk, but the other store had plenty for our 10 pies. Number just grew yesterday!
LOL Yes, just heard from Tracy that Patti sometimes comes home from work - gets to Kathy's and is still wearing her mask! She simply "forgets" she has it ON! I agree - if ALL of our days were simply PTO we would not hit this issue every December! YAY for DS26 being handy with tools! I guess you can get a sense of his Christmas list - by what he borrows! LOL
I admit to quietly hoping for a work-from-home order soon!
Sorry DH was underfoot - did you get him out so you could do your floors??
Sue: I am so so sorry that Hannah continues to question your decisions!! WTH???

Good morning!
Grr....just lost my post. I am super tired today thanks to Milo scratching on the bedroom for hours last night (and we will NOT let him in--he is like a ball of fire and lays on top of the comforter and we both get hot! Usually he only scratches for about 5 min ---I am so glad that I have the rest of the week off. Today I am grateful to work in a place where I can take 4 days off this week--and really take some time to rest and recover.
Ran on the TM this morning and started some work at 6:45 am before coming in at 7:45. Our campus here has about 200 employees and I would guess that there are, at most, 20 cars in the parking lot---nice and calm!
Today I have my mani/pedi right after work and I hope that I don't fall asleep in the chair! It will feel good though and then I plan on a QUICK dinner and early lights out for bed tonight!
Christine: I hope that the screen works to keep people respectful of your work situation. Is DH working today? Uggh to Linds not sharing the desk! You have a good chair though? Oh, so glad that you and DSIL have it all worked out for TG. Yes, I ordered a 10-13 lb turkey and I am picking it up first thing tomorrow morning---I hope that it is REALLY that small! I heard that there is a shortage of small turkies, LOL. Hope that today passes quickly for you! I think of how fast this last year passed...even with COVID. In the blink of an eye it will be November 2021 and a special year for us all to appreciate being together again!
Carole: Yay for relishing your calm morning! Good for you for taking your sister's "change" in the plans in stride. Sounds like Patti has the mask thing as a practice now! I told someone that it has become like a seatbelt to me....it just doesn't feel normal to NOT have it on! How great that you still have your pie baking tradition...and the girls will remember it fondly forever! I hear you on Matt and we know what you mean. I remember that my dad passed away in March and then 911 happened in September and I was SO glad that he didn't experience it all--he would have been so dismayed. I guess that there are forces that know when to do what should happen to at least protect some of us from the experience. Hugs to you!
Sue: Well, I hope that things are calming on the home front...and the girls are rethinking their statements. I would hope that they would see around them that other families are making similar decisions. Did you see the photos of airports yesterday? YIKES--who could say that was "safe"!! Have a good day today--thank goodness Gloria will be there with you!
Shelly: So good to see you! I am so glad that you are healthy....the central US (including OK) looks like a COVID-ridden mess....I do hope that mask wearing is happening. You are smart to be well-stocked!
Okay, time to go. On a call right now and I need to pay more attention--introductions are happening now. Hope that you have a good day everyone!

Evening all....worked a little later than usual and will head in for 6:00am tomorrow....crazy busy day but Gloria and I working together to keep things going...both are opting to go in early tomorrow to get some thing done before anyone else comes in and bothers us! Got many little things to do that is only month end and usually done by Tonya so it's not a normal "covering for vacation" kind of thing! Christine....thanks for starting us off this morning....you just beat me! Sorry Linds wasn't willing to temporarily share her desk and let you bring it to the DR....especially since she doesn't really use it much! Your story of the text and chat with DSIL made me chuckle.....The "Meals on Wheels" reference really made me LOL!! Thanks for the giggle. Hopefully Carly will realize that this decision was NOT because of her but MANY factors.... Jason just got home and he stopped in at Sarah's to let them know about Pat and the fact that Rae test positive so they are all isolating in their own home....needless to say they welcome was "less than warm". I think I know why..... I woke of up an email this morning from Hannah that was a reassurance that her comment about paint nights was not meant to hurt me and that she hadn't really thought about the fact that she had the driveway option and Jason and I have nothing so our "circle" is different. Then she mentioned the posts on Josh's page and she wanted to make sure that she knew that they did NOT feel the same way. So out of curiosity I I went to Josh's page and you can tell just by the wording that the post was meant for Jason and I....basically their Thanksgiving is "ruined"! Now, the funny part is....had COVID not kept us home we would be in NC for Thanksgiving and not making them a nice Thanksgiving dinner! Josh also mentioned that his SIL/BIL's Christmas was also "ruined" that's how I knew it was meant for me! Hannah did comment on Josh's post....she said "our Christmas isn't ruined, it's just different than what we had hoped"! So, needless to say I sent Josh a private message regarding the post and told him that I knew it was meant for us and no, we are not living in fear but his disrespect for people, including us is terrible....people disagree and the fact that he thinks he's right and doesn't respect others to think differently is disrespectful. Well, tonight when I was telling Jason about it I went to find the post and guess what....it's gone! LOL!! Everything I private message him something, the post immediately comes down....while I know things will be a bit "chilly" for a while, I will NOT tolerate disrespect! Sarah learned that one the hard way many times over the years so I know she was not surprised that I private messaged him. But she is in the middle and I don't mean to put her there but sometimes you need to "call him on his behavior" and shed some light on how to live respectfully. Josh's folks are exactly the same way and I know that is part of the issue....he has never lived in a "grey world" where people have to "agree to disagree" and respect that...he grew up in a black and white world where his opinion, like his folks and others is right! You know the saying "Children learn what they Live"....case and point! Sorry for rambling! Carole.....love that Ken offered to go get Zoe...yes, take advantage of the "lazy" day today....when the pie backing starts, you won't be lazy!! It was only in the upper 40's here today too and raw and windy....crazy winds woke me over night! Day #23 Gratitude: Laughter....yes, laughter! Today was so crazy busy at work and we had one hill to climb after another but through it all we could laugh. At one point when we were talking about coming in early to get some things done I said "I want to be caught up with all other orders by the end of the day because if the MEAP drops first thing in the day, I'm 'useless' for hours" and Gloria said "I know"! She said it as she was walking out the door to give the guys orders to pick and when she came in she said "OMG, sorry, that sounded terrible"! We both started laughing! I knew what she meant but she realized how it sounded! I love her....we will get through this however long we have to "flounder" on our own...it is so different than "planning" for a vacation/day off....it's one thing to cover a day or two unexpectedly but to possibly cover for 10 work days w/o warning/notice....it's a bit overwhelming but I think Gloria and I are both of the mindset that we will do our best and will NOT let this control us....we will do what has to be done and people are just going to have to be patient and work with us, not condemn us for "flying by the seat of our pants" at the end of the month! Love your gratitude Carole...I so wish my DM was a cook or baker....believe me, my love for cooking and food came long after I was out of the house....biggest crowd my DM cooked for was the 6 of us and truth be told, she was a terrible cook! Honestly don't think my DM like to cook/bake. Her mom, my Nana was a great cookie baker and I have many of her recipes that I cherish but that's it!
Carole...Hannah and I are fine....Sarah has always been my "bull-headed" child and I know in time when COVID settles down and life gets back to normal we will be fine.....for now, we aren't "giving up" our Thanksgiving, we are just changing it....I'll still enjoy a yummy TG dinner with someone I love....not a bad thing! We are NOT giving up our Christmas and all the season brings but for this year we are changing it for a safer option for us and those around us! I'm OK....with each day, the hurt and frustration fades and I know I just need to "let it go"....I need to let it go and do what I feel is best for us so that we and those we love are here next year to celebrate!
Yup...I get it Carole....we all know that IF Matt were still with us, his system would be extremely compromised and he would be at a VERY HIGH RISK for COVID to strike and it would likely not be a positive outcome. Will say Carole that while I enjoyed the fact I didn't have to wear my mask at my desk because we were socially distanced from each other that after wearing one all the time I'm kind of getting used to it and don't really think about it much. I have figured a way to get it covering my mouth and nose and not steam up my glasses.....David said "if you put it on and just 'do it' it eventually doesn't bother you" and he's right....last week was annoying but I did it...I actually drove almost halfway home with my mask on and chuckled to myself!

Shelly...so good to see you!! Ah yes, the "TP scramble" has begun here again too! Glad you are more prepared this time! So glad your one quarantined employee is still feeling good and no symptoms....hope it stays that way! Hopefully the quarantine is just the precaution needed to keep all safe! Sorry you still need to deal with other employee issues. See you soon.....miss you when you don't get a chance to pop in!
Carole....Tracy was so sweet to include the "I have an oil for that" bag with my "Hallmark" shirt! She is so thoughtful. I truly was a skeptic about oils for a REALLY long time but Sarah has been a great source of information and after seeing the "remedies" at many of the colonial homesteads over the years and realize that I use many of the same herbs and plants for the same reasons is really cool! Yes, I will say the holiday sales are a killer but I always try to take advantage of the "one time" only oils and see if they are something love and us so IF they come back as permanent I know to snag them.
Yes....makes me a bit angry that Rae didn't think about the fact that Pat was 74 and one of the "at risk" ages groups when he decided that the virus was a "hoax" and masks were an infringement on liberties. Just to clarify....Rae was born Rachel and in January of this year started "gender reassignment" and is now living as my nephew instead of my niece....it's odd, but love "him"!
Speaking of the tree....Jason knows how much I love the calming glow of the white lights so when he left for work he plugged the tree in so when I came out of our room this morning the tree was on and glowing. Made me smile. I sent him a text thanking him for it and he said "I know you have a crazy week ahead of you so figured it would be a the perfect start to the day"! He is so sweet!
LOL Carole...glad the "monkey wrench" isn't too much of a burden! Hopefully you will be in good shape by then and the lack of her oven won't cause issues! Yes, we all know those who have to "take control"!!
Don't even get me started on Kellen being outside with Lincoln but the sad thing is that his parents knew Kellen was quarantined and still let Lincoln come down to play.....unfortunately as long as Josh, and Lincoln's folks too, feel this is a hoax and "just a virus that will run it's course" things won't change.
Gabrielle...as I said, Hannah is OK....Sarah will "stew" a while longer! Jason actually just mentioned the airport photos...he saw footage on the news last night!
OK....time to put my feet up, wind down and hopefully hit the sack early since morning will be coming earlier tomorrow and likely Wednesday too. Gloria and I both decided that on Wednesday at 4:00 we are both OUT!! It's TG weekend and we will take advantage....hopefully the workload doesn't change that but planning to head in early the next two mornings should make the "on time" end of our work day possible!
Sweet dreams all....see you tomorrow!
