This challenge was created eight years ago by a few Weight Watchers members. We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes. Success isnβt always measured at the scale. Each day, tally the positive actions that you made the day before and then talk about the challenges you are working on. Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join. If you are the first one to post each day, please copy, paste and get us started and, if you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Good morning Canners- Happy Monday and I decided to call this grateful week! I am grateful for the resources to feel safe and comfortable this week- especially when so many in our country are burdened with those worries. I am off to the grocery store NOW and heeding Jan's advice! Some cooking, some work, lots of exercise, lots of books and connecting with friends and fam via zoom are my plans for the week. My scale plan is to WI at the same or less on next Monday morning- even though my week includes some family favorites that are easily overindulged...including chopped liver, broccoli cheese casserole and crockpot oatmeal How about you? Waves to Canners!Grateful for my long history with you!

Good Morning! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Sally thank you so much for starting us out. And for the reminder to be grateful. I do try to start the day with a gratitude list and I am grateful this morning for sleep.
Hi Nat!
Jan, I agree a chainsaw is a splendid gift. I think my gift to MF is to suggest we exchange chores. His biz isn't doing well and I do not want him to spend money. I have had a good year but am not sure what next year will bring.
Carol, thank you so much for support on my flopped baking experiment. Homemade pizza sound really good, snow does not. I am grateful both of us have gotten a better sleep although I still have the circles under my eyes.
Yes I did: take a day off from law. Gym - legs. I go at their slow time, wear a mask, and distance. It isn't outside but practically is with the high ceilings, open panels, and large fans. I also walked and only spent part of the time on the phone. Yes I can: get in some kind of workout, call garage guy once it is light. Squeeze in law, admin, insurance shopping. . . First, get dressed. love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy Turn-the-Page Monday! So we are just putting 2 rooms back together today. Getting the queen platform bed out of the office and into the guest room (where it belongs) was an exercise in geometry. We did not want to take that Ikea piece apart! Talk about snapping turtles and swear words. LOL. Sally: Attitude of Gratitude wins the day. We are all so blessed. My good friend travels to the outback in Mexico and takes clothes and shoes and other things they can't get down there. They are so poor and the things we send mean so much to these people. Talk about gratitude. I am grateful that we will soon have a new leader in this country. I am grateful for you my friends. Janet: Good luck with your garage door opener. They are so handy. We have a very steep driveway and I remember well my Mom having to get out and walk up that hill to open the very heavy garage door. That was when they had these giant springs to open the door. Wow, I am old. I like your idea for holiday gifts. An act of loving kindness. Carol: Your weather sounds SO cold. I know you are used to it but brrrrr! We haven't had the heater on yet this year. Your homemade pizza sounds delicious. Thin crust is my fav. Sending you a good nights sleep tonight. 8 hrs at least. Nat: Happy Monday. Hope all is well. Sweet Dreams, Jan

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health. Tuesday. 653 AM CST. November 24, 2020.
Hi Sally! Hi Carol! Hi Nat!
Hi Jan! You must have an awesome relationship to be able to do furniture geometry together. I remember using springs (not motors to open the garage door). When I was in El Paso I just had a car port and was grateful for that because at the apartments I had nothing. I have used the heater here several times. In fact, it (and my winter bathrobe) are both on right now.
Yes I did: get garage door fixed and there is even a warranty! Also, spinning class and errands. A tiny bit of law. I thought I finished paper work for health insurance but I did it incorrectly. Yes I can: get grocery shopping out of the way first thing. I am starting to obsess about it. More insurance paperwork. Law. More administrative stuff. It is supposed to rain today, we need it. Tonight: weight class (which will probably be moved inside) and hopefully a swim. Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Good Tues evening positive peeps! I'm grateful for all of you and a safe place to get some good inspiration. We will be zooming at some point on Thanksgiving with the rest of the family. My DSis will be picking up Thanksgiving dinner for parents, and she will be able to get them on Zoom. I am really looking forward to no holiday drive, even though the one from the mountains is nothing like it used to be coming from Ventura County! And the traffic is always going the opposite of us now, but those nonstop headlights beaming you in the face for the hour drive back home is tiring. Jan, snapping turtles and swear words, sounds like a fun time I was terrible at geometry! Waves Carol, Sally, Janet.... I'm trying to keep a happy positive attitude but I still have not heard one iota from the new manager that I'm supposed to be starting work next week. No idea what the schedule is, what days I'll work, nada. I did drive down to the desert yesterday to the Alien place to have them verify that I can work in the US. lol I will reach out tomorrow, because I don't know if that clinic is open on Friday. ugh Oh I did thankfully lose 0.6 lb. this week. You'd think it would be more with colon stuff, but I made up for it! Yes I CAN: -Keep happy thoughts, I'm not the red headed stepchild no one wants...though it feels that way sometimes -Get my steps in. -Keep the kitchen closed. -Smile See you tomorrow! Nat

Good Tuesday Evening, positive π₯π₯!
Had some issues logging on earlier, oh well!
Yes I did --neighborhood walks, 2 days in a row, had to drag self out into the dreary cold damp...but once there, all is well! Today I changed my route so I'd swing by the farm stand on my way home and picked up a nice butternut squash and some parsnips. Grown close by, yay for local foods! --shopping yesterday wasn't too bad, but still tiring --finally mail an overdue b'day card and a couple of Thanksgiving cards to college buddies far away

Happy Wednesday Evening.
First time I've sat down all day. Guess everyone else is busy tonight too. Friends, please say a special prayer for my Cousin in Texas whose health isn't good. I am prepping myself for the inevitable but hoping for a miracle. Damn Cancer!
Nat: Giving you a schedule a few days (or a week) in advance would be nice. Hopefully the office is better organized than that. Glad you can stay home this holiday and zoooom the relatives.
Sally: You don't like pumpkin pie? I like a tiny sliver with a gob of vanilla ice cream--the good kind!
Happy Turkey Day Folks. Good Night and Sweet Dreams,
Jan

Happy Thanksgiving evening positive peeps!! Many prayers sent out for your cousin in Texas Jan. Cancer sucks! Wow Carol nice long walk yesterday. Waves Sally and Janet! I did email my new manager and supervisor yesterday morning. She called me after that and apologized profusely. She's been off sick but I am on the schedule. There will be three of us starting about the same time, so due to covid restrictions and limited seating/training, we'll be working just 4 hour shifts next week. I get the 6:30 to 10:30 am (yes am) shift. So thankful no snow in the forecast for my first week. I don't want to stay over at mom and dad's unless it was absolutely necessary as I don't want to bring anything in to them. So I will have coffee in hand as I leave at O dark thirty each morning! I will take my computer down tomorrow afternoon and stop in to see mom and dad for a few.
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving celebration. I overstuffed myself on the homemade stuffing, oh so good! I decided at the last minute to try some cranberry sauce since we had frozen cranberries. So so good and easy. I skipped the turkey, but I'm told it came out good. The pups enjoyed their little bit.
Yes I CAN: Finish up work (for psych side job) and relax. Close the kitchen (after my small piece of pumpkin pie LOL) Get my steps in (actually done with over 14k) Be thankful, count my blessings.
A goodnight to all! Nat

Good Morning! Love, light, blessings, and good health!
Sally, hooray for cookies. I make low point pumpkin fluff with - fat free cool whip, spices, pumpkin, sf vanilla pudding, and no crust. That way I shave a couple calories off of the feed. I also make my own sf cranberries.
Nat, I am glad work schedule available and that you have work. Interested to hear more about the alien place. Roswell? I love sci fi.
Carol, hooray for walks, for hikes, and for squashes.
Jan, extra strong Texas prayers.
ME: Wow, I spent two solid days cooking. Like the rest of the galaxy today is day one OP. I did the best I could to log it all this morning. I did do a lot of damage control and mowed yesterday morning (as my arthritis is reminding me this morning) and did a spinning class Wednesday. Rainy gloomy day here today but I am going to hit the gym for weights, do a home ab circuit, and walking breaks when possible. I did have pecan pie Wednesday night but did not succumb yesterday. MF and I had a lovely meal, he put up Christmas lights for me (Baby, your back - this can wait. No. I want you to have a little bit of Christmas when you come home). Then we laid on a blanket at Town Lake in Austin and watched the peeps. God is good, I got to talk to both my parents, and we found a monster movie to watch on his sofa. Now off to check the mail and log that pecan pie that I forgot about until just now.
Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Happy day after friends Bad news is that I had (another) gastro blip on Weds that was pretty scary, good news is that it limited my Thanksgiving day overeat! We did get to patio sit with building friends and enjoy some time together. Lots of zoom calls, texts as well. It was a good Thanksgiving.I'm Feeling pretty good today but will monitor the "comings and goings" for a few days. Yes, I will make an MD appt on Monday if things do not feel normal
Jan: so sorry for your cousin's illness- stay connected and send wishes their way Nat: hope the new job will be ok- is just the training in person or the full job? Janet: your thanksgiving sounds lovely! Carol: hope it was a great holiday.
YES I CAN; shoot for a WW WI next Thursday so it is out of the way for December... add on steps today enjoy a 3rd day of no clients! grateful for cyber and nearby friends today- including you!

Good Noontime and TGIF, positive π£π₯!
Jan: {{cyberhugs}}
Nat: what a relief to have heard from new boss! And yay for confirmation it was nothing about you, which all of us knew, LOL! Hopeful you will meet some good new coworkers, as well.
Janet: Yay, for simple pleasures like watching monster movies together. And yay for ff & sf Pumpkin Fluff! It was legendary on the old WW message boards. I had planned to make a pumpkin pie with graham crust for yesterday, but we were still eating the apple icebox cake I had made on Monday...having no room in the 'fridge saved me. But I probably will make the pie sometime soon. Just have to cut the slices small enough ahead of time, so we don't overdo it.
Sally: oh, sweetie, I hope you are feeling better. Gastro stuff is no fun. Let go of all stress, that doesn't help anything....(note to self....)
Yes I DID: --enjoy everything we cooked. I did the turkey breast, mashed potatoes, butternut squash. Sweetie did the cranberry sauce (yummy! mmm, maybe not sf...) and stuffing, using really tasty whole wheat bread, apples, baby bellas. Fridge is full now. So am I. --sleep pretty well --short walking video this a.m.
Yes I CAN: --drag self to local grocery for a few things. Staying away from Walmart for a bit, to avoid crowds, LOL! --visit the Olde Golf Course for a little walk later
Be well! Carol

Happy Friday! Sally: Sending Gastro-Love! My Sweetie has episodes of that due to gallbladder issues, but hasn't had one in a while which I tribute to probiotics that we now both take every day. Glad you got a little friend time yesterday and Zoom family time. I really missed my friends and next year, God willing, we will be together. Received texts all day from friends, none from my estranged family who live 2 miles from me. I did reach out. Blessing and Releasing. Janet: How sweet of your Sweetheart to want to have your house Christmas festive. Sounds like a keeper. Back on track. You inspire me. Fridge is full of leftovers and I am not cooking today. We had rotisserie turkey breast, dressing, roasted potatoes, mashed yam, Veggie casserole with swiss cheese, and pumpkin pie with super rich vanilla ice cream. Mea Culpa! Carol: Glad you had a nice day yesterday and that your Old House is snug and warm. Bless you for remembering your lawn guy. Enjoy the Golf Course walk. Nat: Good Luck on the new job and take care out there. Good job on your steps. Yes, I am... --making macadamia nut caramels today. I have to because the humidity is low and that rarely happens at the beach. --three loads of laundry. --picking more tangerines. I just have my neighbors hang their bag on my mailbox and I fill them up. Wish you all were my neighbors! Thanks for the prayers for my Cowboy Cousin. I sent him some homemade chocolate walnut biscotti this week and I text most every day. Sending a healthy, happy weekend to you all. Jan
