Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Spare room closet cleaning and general organizing continues today. I can’t believe how much stuff I crammed in there, and most of it does not belong there. Putting my sweaters and casual pants on the shelves is going to be a good idea. I can see what I have to wear for work and it looks nice and organized. I used to keep that stuff on my rocker and it looked messy when I picked through the clothes.
Ruth - DB is 3 years younger than I am. We get along well, I used to vacation with them years ago. If it wasn’t for DB and DSIL I would never have seen the West. We traveled and hiked many of the National parks. Glad Mara had a nice birthday. Those pics were so cute.
Sun is shining. I plan on bundling up this afternoon and going for a walk.
Plan on chicken & peppers stir fry for dinner today and tomorrow. I’m going to look for recipes for chicken breasts that are not too boring, maybe a casserole with beans or a chicken chili. I’ll have lots of time to cook this week.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, that is nice that you and your DB can share texts back and forth. It is a way of keeping in touch with each other. Meatloaf sounds good, Bill and I both enjoy cold meatloaf sandwiches, maybe I should make another one soon. I think all the technology that we have available has made the pandemic safer, meaning that people can stay home but still stay in touch and also have a variety of games/movies available easily. Your cleaning and organizing is going great.
Ruth, I think one of the reasons the shredding event was a little unorganized was that the people from the funeral home (they sponsored the event) were the ones directing traffic. The workers from the shredding company emptied the cars but sometimes the car in front was blocking other cars so made the wait longer. I was just glad to get rid of a big bag of paperwork. It sounds like Mara had a great day and I’m sure she will even enjoy the rest of the party on Thanksgiving.
Martha, working from home makes it easy to grab something out of the fridge quickly. Bill and I didn’t do much yesterday, the day was dark and dreary. Today is cooler but at least it is sunny but also very windy.
This morning I ran to church to pick up some containers to fill for the cookie sale that the church is having the first week of December. This is a big fundraiser for the church because all of the cookies that are sold are donated. After that I ran to Sam’s to get my pumpkin pie and also their 3 pack of poinsettias, they are very pretty and last thru the holiday season. On Friday I will get out one of my Christmas tablecloths and do a little decorating. We aren’t doing as much decorating as usual but at least the house will have some color.

Good evening all. Stan is making a whole chicken in the air fryer. As usual, dinner will be later than I’d like; but it is what it is! Going to throw some fries in the oven to go with it.
Got up to bright sunshine and cold, 25 degrees. Think it only got to about 35 today, but at least it was nice and bright out all day. Pretty much dark outside now tho! Hate when it gets dark this early.
Last night I went thru the Sunday grocery ads and put together a list and which stores had things for the best prices. This morning we did a Target pick up; ran into one store; then were going to Trader Joe’s, but again the line was down the side of the building. Not waiting in the long of a line. They are really doing a good job of limiting people and exposure, so that’s great. I need to head to Costco tomorrow and get our pie. Not sure we need it, but it’s tradition! Got home today and I started laundry. DIL brought out 2 size 12 mo. jackets (turns out one goes with a pair of snow pants I found downstairs) that needed washing and then I can list.
I can’t believe how many people are traveling for Thanksgiving despite all the warnings and advisories and all. It just doesn’t make sense. Those flying across country and all despite the risk to themselves, those they are seeing, and people traveling with them. And those they expose when they get home.
We are to get some snow overnight. I think only an inch maybe. Not looking forward to that! Means I can’t drive and I’ve mostly been able to drive recently. Except when we had the 8” of snow in October I’ve mostly been able to drive myself to all my appointments and I love that! Winter gets long needing a ride everywhere.
Ok, need to go change laundry around. And there’s some hanging in the laundry room that needs to go in our closet before I can hang more. I just have a small rack in the laundry room.
have a good evening all. Waving to everyone!
