Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

ALMOST TIME TO SWITCH FROM MY DAILY ANXIETY TO MY FANCY CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR ANXIETY OR CHOOSE ACCOUNTABILITY NEW CHALLENGE November 1 through December 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person. Anxiety: a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. With anxiety, a person will put enormous pressure on themselves by worry or fear.
Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. It helps to keep one in control and not let anxiety take over. The Anxiety will not get you anywhere. The holidays are coming and no amount of crash dieting or excessive eating/drinking or letting stress take over, will delay the inevitable. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge. Leave the anxiety out of the equation.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
FRESH START MONDAY! What is your accountability for the week? What anxiety will you let go of?
MOVE MORE ACCOUNTABILITY Every little bit helps and definitely helps anxiety.
SLEEP ACCOUNTABILITY Have you established a routine?
NUTRITION ACCOUNTABILITY Ugly and good days Drink more water Drink your height in water….68 inches tall equals 68 ounces of water….add 8 ounce every seven days One or more fruit daily One or more vegetable daily Track nutritional intake Grocery List Share a healthy recipe Low Sugar, limit added sugar to 24 grams or less Pre lose the five pound holiday gain AF/AIM/AIE
JOURNAL YOUR NUTRITION ACCOUNTABILITY
HAPPINESS ACCOUNTABILITY
What did you do for yourself today? Motivational quote
HABIT ACCOUNTABILITY What new habit are you establishing?
CHECK IN DAILY ACCOUNTABILITY Scale of 1 -5 …how is your day going? Just say NO - not saying yes to every request will help to control anxiety.
TIME MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY Need to do, should do, want to do Organize yourself with lists. Lists can help reduce anxiety.
Let's be accountable and supportive to each other. As always no judgement, just encouragement, and if needed, tough love though we are usually toughest on ourselves. Set your accountability goals and let's get to work. Let’s be healthier versions of ourselves come January 1.

ACCOUNTABILITY NOT ANXIETY! DON'T OVERWHELM YOURSELF... Step by step brings results!
It was a good day. We enjoyed walking the nature trail. While we out walking, I heard from the Tipton county clerk's office. They asked me for a few more details, then called later to say they had found the marriage license and would send it out my mail- yay! I went to Walmart after lunch to get Thanksgiving fixings. It was busy, but not awful. Made Bear Creek potato soup and BLT's for dinner- yummy. DD & I played ping pong after dinner and had fun watching Annie chase after the wayward balls. One of my nieces posted something disturbing on FB. Apparently when she was shopping at Hobby Lobby, a man dropped a fragile ornament at her feet and while she was distracted by that, someone else took her wallet out of her purse. So beware, the evil-doers our out there, even at Hobby Lobby!
Jan- WTG for another blue dot, 10 AP. Glad the cats are back to their perky selves. I seem to naturally sleep past 6am most days. Seems to be about the right amount of sleep to not require a nap later in the day.
GG- Yay for DD & Rylee coming to visit and for a short day of schooling today.
Cindy- I always enjoy getting a hair cut. Motivating myself to go is the problem.
Carole- Glad you slept better at your dad's. Love the cross stitch! Enjoy getting your hair done.
Cathy- WTG AF, OP, scale moving. We have a covered front porch and a screened in back porch on the main level. There is also an area outside the basement (under the back deck) that we are talking about either putting pavers or pouring a concrete slab.

Check in Daily Accountability 5 I'm here and ready for the challenge Time Management Accountability 4 Schedule time frames to work on projects, keep a calendar and less screen time. Quote: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it. "If you don't take care of your body, where are you going to live?" ACCOUNTABILITY, NOT ANXIETY November 1 - December 31 November 1 start weight: 202.3 November 8: 202.6 November 15: 201.7 November 22: 202.2 November 29: December 6 December 13: December 20: December 27: December 31 final weight: Good Morning. Made a plan yesterday, stuck to it, amazing how that works . We made scallops, squash and green beans for dinner, the low points allowed me 2 yummy cookies and I still had dailies left. Need to repeat today! Went to Aldi's and Target to finish my holiday shopping so have everything in the house. Used some of the gift cards I found so felt like Free treats!! Today will be cleaning, moving around upstairs probably as they are predicting rain or snow flurries, and sorting through some Christmas tubs. May also bake some oatmeal, cranberry orange muffins I found on Emily Bites, 3 pts each. Then use the rest of the cranberries to make a fresh relish. Will also make time to knit on my stocking, down to the heel turn now so need to sit where I'm not distracted so I can count and follow the pattern! Just doing my best to take care of me. Have a good day all. Jan Amy Sounds like a good day at your house, ping pong sounds fun, and glad Annie likes it too. Yuck about the event at Hobby Lobby, sad we have to worry about that stuff. I read your post on Facebook yesterday about actually reading, and felt bad because I'm too lazy to repost on mine but I do read people's posts. I thought it was funny because a of friend of mine is posting gratitudes, He posted about marrying my friend and how lucky he was, everyone's reply was happy anniversary, even tho the post said they married on Dec 28.....proof of people skimming through....seeing what they want. Hmmm, maybe why our country is in such a mess. Glad your marriage license is on the way! GG. Glad you got to visit with Rylee and DD. Good to have some one on one time before all the hub bub of all the kids for the holiday. Enjoy your last teaching day. I always remembering counting down to this week and the time off, it was always a long haul from the Labor Day holiday until Thanksgiving break, which was also always report card time!! Don't miss it!! Carole. Maybe you sleep better at Dad's because it is quiet and you have your own bed, my DH was so noisy last night, didn't sleep as well. The kitties were wanting out this morning, a bit leery when I opened the patio door and they felt how cold it was but they headed out. Seems if they go in the morning they'll come back in an hour or so and then sleep the day away and we can keep them in overnight. Will you have your Dad over for Thanksgiving or is everyone staying home? Glad DB was negative!! Cathy. Glad the kids checked in, I know my DH says it doesn't matter either, but it does. Do you think you need a new battery? Sounds like the Chico clothes will feel new to you when you get in them so won't need to buy too much! These days I hate spending money on clothes, everything seems so expensive. I do spend money a few times a year on good tennies to walk in and this year I treated myself to some new slippers! I have a big work table upstairs to craft on and there is a small love seat if I want to read. The cats are usually banned as they find all my yarn, projects etc to get into. Cindy Didn't put my tree up yet but probably work on it today. Will stick with non breakable ornaments this year! We are not happy but yes, DS is flying to New York on Wednesday. They are getting tested on both ends but that is not a guarantee. Don't know the dynamics of the dinner etc, maybe grandparents aren't coming over, they sure were all playing it safe and NY was strict about traveling around. We can just wait to hear about the adventure on the other end. Hope the haircut works out. Hi to all, thinking of you.

Good morning!
I know I pulled an MIA again, I hate when I do that. I have neither been accountable with A nor food; stopped weighing and measuring, and the A started to go to 3 or 4 drinks per Day, just feeling sorry for myself again. On a good note, I finally got motivated and started to do a real cleaning, still have a way to go but it feels good when I look around the living room and see "shine", ha ha! I even got a way from the knitting for a few days but got back to it. That helped me to get out of the "whoa is me" attitude. I will try to get back to personals once I go back and read what I missed.
Happy Tuesday!

Hi All, It may be an old wives' tale but never comfortable being on electronics when having severe thunderstorms. If it stops any time soon, will post, otherwise in the am. And I did get my haircut but only seven inches so it is still below my shoulders.
Hugs, Cindy

TUESDAY: AF/OP/used 22/22 dailies and have 34/35 weeklies left/<174> on the scale this morning
May run some errands IF the battery is fixed/replaced early enough. We need to order our medicine for the month, pick up groceries we have run out of, buy some produce, etc. Nothing exciting happening.
AMY: I would LOVE a screened area to sit in during nice weather...bugs always find and bite me! Sorry your niece was robbed but glad she is safe. Glad you find reasons to spend time in the basement with Annie. I can see myself reading down there...
JAN: I agree with you that spending money on unnecessary items seems a waste...trying to conserve what we have these days. I am kind of looking forward to seeing what still fits now (at 174) and when I get to goal (in about 30 pounds). I do think there will be a need for undies and bras and a few other things after losing over sixty pounds.
LIZ: Feel free to come and chat when you are down...I am sure that it will help and nobody here is judgemental. Hope you remain positive and check in daily again
CINDY: I don't think I have seven inches of hair anywhere on my head...not unless two or three hairs tie themselves together! We never have computers, Phones, modems, TV plugged in during thunderstorms because our house has been struck by lightning more than once in the past.

CAROL & MURPHY: Hope you are both okay!
