gottakeeptryin, every year they tweaked it by playing with the floaters, optional calories, bonus plus, banked points, etc. The main exchange system seemed to stay the same for a LONG time, it was the "extras" that got played with. ladymajky yes! I loved the lasagna. I am totally spacing on them selling fen-phen though ( I was also in SoCal) since it was a prescription only thing how did they do it? I do remember that stuff was everywhere though. Diet centers offering it popped up on every street corner. Those doctors made a fortune.

I did see lots of variations on the optional calories. I think the one I posted may have been the original? Not sure. I am also spacing in the "fen Phen" ..yikes!

I lost 55 pounds and made lifetime on the exchange program in the early 90s, and really liked it. It probably helped that I was 15-16 years old at the time, and my mom was a leader.
Now I have lost 104 pounds on mostly smartpoints (green) and am 18 pounds away from my original start weight 🥴

on them selling fen-phen though ( I was also in SoCal) since it was a prescription only thing how did they do it? I seem to recall that there was a doctor associated with the district office, or maybe Weight Watchers Corp, who wrote blanket prescriptions. Kind of like Walgreen's or CVS has a doctor somewhere at corp HQ who writes the master prescription for flu shots. The total lack of personal medical oversight for fen-phen was what made me so leery of signing up for the miracle cure.
