Linda, I am glad to hear all went well with Bob’s endoscopy. How is his throat doing?
Denise, sounds like a good meal planned. Enjoy the company and the food. I’ll be watching the weird one block Macy’s Day Parade with no spectators and the National Dog Show.
Kathy, I saw 2 college games (Colorado St vs Air Force and the one you mentioned) and 3 pro football games scheduled for Thursday. Bring on the dogs!
Becky, good luck at HEB today.
Liz, I hope Zoe is doing better a d that you have some good rest time.
Karen, sorry about your departing MG members. I ordered a different brand of socks from Amazon, washed them and hung to dry, so I haven’t tried them yet.
Iggy went for new glasses prescription and came back with two dates for cataract surgery, both in January. He is not a happy camper. I am glad I made the appointment for him. His vision was getting worse, yet he kept procrastinating about getting an eye exam. Needless to say January will be challenging. I remember Bob’s issues after cataract removal last year.
We have another cool and rainy day today, a good reason to stay at home besides the virus.

nybuckeye,Hi Chele i'll be watching our local Detroit thanksgiving parade on tv with no spectators. This parade has benn going on for 50 yrs i remember watching this parade as a kid eating hershey candy bars. A few yrs ago i took a behind the seens tour of it . You have to make a big donation to the parade if u want to be a clown and a big donation if u want to wear a papaer mache head. This parade is a big deal here in Detroit.

Chele, Don't worry. Bob was fine. Just had to keep two charts for the drops on each eye. Tedious. Bob had special ones to correct astigmatism....extra cost $$$. But you do not have to.
He is ok...throat just dry. Not being able to have water before surgery, and being in a dry climate is fairly dehydrating.
would you believe finally 43 degrees this morning before dawn, and heat on..for a day we do not want to cook the installers working hard. Figures. They pick up materials somewhere central and then drive here...any where from 8-10. Time to get drops over Bob's bedroom and have a decent soft breakfast for him. I woke up 5:30 because I was cold!

Thanks for the start, Chele, and Happy Thanksgiving Eve to you and the rest of the gang. Anyone planning to watch the virtual Macy's Parade? Is that a late rose at your front door? If I were going to eat turkey, I would want to get one from your turkey store. Will you freeze half before or after cooking? Yay on the Packo's relish. I hope the family covid stays asymptomatic and doesn't spread. I know BIL/SIL are disappointed they won't be seeing the grandkids. Too bad on Iggy's shock at the eye doc. That will probably make a major difference in his vision. I remember when DMIL started having issues due to cataracts. She couldn't even tell what color the traffic light was when she went sailing through. It's a wonder she didn't get herself killed. You certainly seem to be getting more than your share of rain these past few weeks. We are expecting some this afternoon but I don't think it will be that much. Is it affecting your sinus issues?
Linda, congrats to both of you on making it through the Endo. I've never had Panera mac n cheese but have some of their At Home soups in the fridge that were B2G1 at Publix. Sorry the mac isn't as good as the soup. I'm having their black been soup for lunch. Good luck on the flooring today. Will Micki want to be the center of attention for the workers? We used to have to keep Phoebe away from folks doing construction, etc., because she thought they were coming to visit her and wanted to make them feel welcome. We have so many tourists this time of year for 2 reasons: shopping and Dollywood. We have several huge outlet malls and hundreds of small local shops. And Dollywood has millions of twinkling lights and displays, Christmas themed shows, and lots of artisans making unique gifts. Some people come for several days or a week every year. It's nice to get a break from the traffic in January. Your lights look great, as do the flowers. I need to decide what outdoor decorations to put up this year.
I remember your saying Scooter doesn't like wind, Becky, so not surprised she was an indoor dog. How was HEB today? I'll bet it took Kenneth a bit longer at checkout.
Denise, the menu sounds delicious. Is the pumpkin streusel homemade? Dale would love something like that, so if it's homemade, would you share a link to the recipe? I didn't realize they were doing the Detroit parade this year but I'm glad they are because people need it right now. Nice memory from when you were growing up. I remember watching the Macy's parade with my grandmother and we talked about going to NYC to see it in person some day but never made it.
What sides are on your menu for tomorrow, Kathy? How much football will you watch? Texas plays on Friday and both Clemson and Michigan play Saturday. Before Texas A&M went to the SEC, they used to play Texas on Thanksgiving Friday and that was a big deal.
Liz, I hope you are enjoying some time off and the pups and Gary are doing well. What's on your menu for tomorrow?
We are now up to 42 reports in the MG database. We had 49 last year, but we have 10 new interns, so our number should be in the upper 50s. It's been like pulling teeth. But I did talk to one of the interns about what she could count and is now finished with her internship, so that's a real positive. I have a couple of loads of laundry to do and want to roast some veggies and will have those for dinner tomorrow, along with Turk'y Cutlets in the airfryer and loaded baked potatoes. We'll have small pre-sliced cheesecake for dessert. I did my usual Monday cleaning today but still need to vacuum. I wish I had a bit more energy but I did spend some time on the bike this morning, so I haven't been a total slug.

Karen, that’s our Thanksgiving miracle rose. The stalk shot up out of nowhere and budded. It’s a peace rose that an elderly friend gave me before she passed away. I think she is sending me a message to hang in there.
We are going to watch the Macy’s parade and then the dog show. They are debuting three breeds.
We cooked whole turkey and froze half last year, but this year we are freezing it uncooked. By the time the cooked stuff was thawed and reheated it was dry.
++I forgot to mention that nephew #2 is back from Japan.
+++These PF socks are working pretty well. They have no toes so I can wear them with my Kuru flip flops.

Chele, thanks for the start. Beautiful rose and I love the story about it. I was just looking for the regular Thursday night game on ESPN and forgot about all the traditional Thanksgiving football games. Duh! Sorry to hear about Iggy's news at the eye doctor. I wouldn't be a happy camper either. It's been sunny and in the low 80s today, so my AC has been blasting away. I think we're in for more of the same tomorrow. It would've been good travel weather! My DS got a funny text from one of my NSB cousins earlier this week. He said he thought we should postpone our usual Thanksgiving get together. She thought they'd already established that!
Linda, glad to hear Bob's test went well. Pretty flowers!
Karen, I'm having mashed potatoes, stuffing and a side of veggies. I have sweet potatoes on hand, but will probably use them with leftovers. We used to do a big sweet potato casserole, but a few years ago we decided it was just too much. I'll have a slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. My big game this weekend was always FSU/UF, but the SEC won't play out of conference games this year even if they're in the same state. Probably a blessing in disguise with the way FSU has been playing. The War on I-4 (UCF at USF) is on Friday, so that's my main game this weekend. I hope you can get all the MGs to report. I didn't realize there were dollars tied to the number of hours.
Liz, hope you'll be enjoying some time off this week.
Becky, hope the grocery store wasn't too crazy today.
Denise, interesting on the parade. That strudel sounds good. Enjoy your dinner tomorrow.

Wow, great rose! Nice timing.
We do like Panera soup, really disappointed with the Mac and cheese.
Micki got to sit in the big bedroom with Bob while I worked in the kitchen. He only barked couple of times. It was only one guy! He got here a bit before 8 and finished by 1. He only moved the chair out , just moved the desk and shelving back and forth as needed.I was glad to hear him say whatever I was cooking , it smelled good ( sense of smell is good these days). It all turned out well.
I made the pies, the veggies for New England bread stuffing, made that and baked it. Tomorrow roast the Turkey breast , make gravy, make corn pudding casserole to try instead of sweet potatoes.
I wore a N95 mask all day and mainly stayed far away. After he was out of the library for a while with window open, I put in a fan and used the alcohol and water spray on the shelves and desk in small groups because you do not want to breathe that much. Wiped with damp rag when dry. Polished it after that. Lysol on anything else he touched. Soap and water on the leather chair arms he carried it with. Room is put back together with other pieces. My desk functions again!
The bedroom small walk in has most stuff back in it...my domain and canned food storage and TP!I have a couple more things to put back tomorrow. The files in two drawers are back in the other closet along with DH’s rolling shelves of language materials in binders that had been in bedroom closet.
My end is almost done...which leaves the 38 boxes of books in the dining room and the 12 of who knows what from the computer/ man cave room for him to sort.
Great news. Most of this work is one guy stuff. And he said he never unplugs and moves refrigerators, just rolls them out, does stuff behind, then rolls back.
Yea! all we have to do is put rolling island and table and chairs and rolling wooden shelf from IKEA in family room SUNDAY night. I will cover stuff on counter tops because this does generate dust.
bone weary...he is fetching Italian

Thanks for the start Chele. Thanks. HEB was like a zoo but thankfully not any long checkout lines. We went in the pickup because Kenneth needed to buy gas for it. I have been keeping our masks inside the glove box in the car. We had already left and I said the masks are in the car. I remembered seeing a cart outside HEB saying to ask employee for a mask and sure enough we were able to get 2 disposable masks before going in. We see some people without masks but I don't want to be one of them. I'm sorry about the shock Iggy received at his eye appointment.
Linda I'm glad Bob is doing okay. Wow you were colder than us this morning.
Karen I have never been a fan of parades. My mom said I didn't even like them as a child so I won't be watching it.HEB was a zoo however I found a checkout lane for him that he didn't even have to wait in line. Scooter is back out today. She doesn't mind the wind so much if it's sunny but if it's cloudy and windy she wants to stay in.She woke me up at 2:00 this morning by bouncing her empty food bowl on the floor.
Kathy Enjoy your Thanksgiving meal tomorrow. HEB was crazy but checkout was easy.
Happy Thanksgiving ladies.
