Good Morning - still cloudy, cold, and rainy here. No sign of the sun for a few more days - but since I am working a full day today it's fine I suppose. I didn't want to take time off since we are all working remotely anyways and I have a ton of work related reports to complete. My biggest challenge is getting my water in daily. I never never thought that would be the case! Yesterday I truly felt 'chained to the desk' sitting through a 3 hour training with only ONE small 10 minute break. It was as interactive training too, not one you could multi-task through. UGH. It was good, but very time consuming! I have not been able to get many 'red dots' on my FitBit this week yet. I'd like to change that today! Walk away from my computer and fill my water tumbler. We have Parent/Teacher Conferences through 12:00 today and I am scheduled to participate in 3 of them this morning. Carly has a Teacher Inservice all day. Lindsey is doing her Internship at the psych unit. And DH is off today. I'm hoping he doesn't keep the TV going this afternoon - or drain my internet use this morning. I did notice my Virtual Meetings are taking a lot of internet power and if anyone else is 'on' in the house (streaming a movie or show) my connection gets very weak. My Turkey is still frozen. Uh Oh ...I know I have one more day before really worrying but I was a bit surprised last night that I could feel how frozen it still was in the center.

Gabrielle - I forgot you are also on VACATION but I'm hoping you really don't answer those text and emails!! No more ZOOM meetings! You need to unplug my Friend ♥ I hope your run yesterday was a good one. Brrr to those temps outside! What will Ty and Katelyn do for TG? Go to her parents or try her hand at preparing their own in their new home? When does Max start his new job? Carly had to get a physical, TB test and tossed in the Flu shot (I didn't realize she hadn't gotten that yet) to be ready for January Student Teaching. I am very curious how a TVI teaches remotely. But I also am confident that students will be back in school this Spring so she can get a real experience.
Sue - wow to how crazy busy you and Gloria have been. Can you imagine poor Gloria all this time without your help? I mean, pre-COVID you would never have known about that position and all that they do. Isn't it something? Do you get Black Friday off? I couldn't remember if you were still planning to take that day or not. So your chicken is still frozen too? Hmmm - I'm going to have to look into how to thaw a large bird LOL I'm pretty sure my DM used to fill the kitchen sink with water and placed it in there like a tub. But then my DM was always giving herself food poisoning so DH does NOT trust her methods LOL!!!
Oh the nasty comments on FB against our PA Gov is ridiculous. Several of my dear friends posted nasty things calling us Sheep for blindly obeying his orders. My cousins (huge Trumpsters) declare he is destroying Small Businesses (wrong) and closing down the bars and taverns tonight is hurting those businesses so of course it's the Gov's fault. My DM tried to post an honest comment but my one friend just argued back with crazy talk. I was like, ohhhh man, don't argue with irrational folks. My friend LOVES to socialize with her husband and their adult daughters at the traditional bars/taverns and I know she is just MAD this year's events were cancelled. My DM told her, "stay home and have a drink. It's safer" - I just shake my head. Even MY GIRLS get it! We bought extra wine and plan to have a fun FAMILY GAME night tonight, because tomorrow the Steelers play so we know DH will be glued to the TV. It will be fun just the same.

Carole - welp, it's here. Pie Day. Ready or not lol - oh, I'm so glad you feel more comfortable about the work from home decision. You are right - it's a lot different when we have time to mentally prepare ourselves AND you don't have to go outside in the wintery mess! We have work Laptops and cords for our work Monitors. I love my monitor. I use it constantly when writing reports in order to see electronically test results to put into my Evaluations. Plus I can see multiple windows when working with Excel or graphs. It is hard with being in the DR but it's better when everyone else in this house is working or BUSY and not draining my power lol Yesterday CARLY was home and I had to beg her to shut down her internet as my Team said I sounded like Charlie Brown's adults - whaa whaa, whaa...I laughed but I was embarrassed just the same. Good Luck today with your Pie Baking!!
Shelly - every time I go into the grocery store I think of YOU and trying to keep shelves stocked and cashiers moving folks along. OMG yesterday I did dash into the store and sure enough ran into a mother and teen daughter NOT wearing their masks - WHA?? No Mask, No Service, right? They had pulled their masks down to their chins. I so badly wanted to say, "Use curbside pick up if you medically can't wear the mask" but I didn't want to embarrass the young daughter but STILL. I was feeling judgmental so just walked away.
OKAY gotta get going here - need my breakfast. Planning on starting some baking today while working on my Reports. And then, after 3:30 I will focus on what to do with this Turkey lol

Good morning Christine ~ Thanks for starting us off this morning! I woke up my usual time - but stayed in bed hoping to go back to sleep. I actually did sleep well though! Was in bed and fell asleep early - had a very long tiring day I guess!
Day 25 Gratitude: My health (again) ~ I have been "potentially exposed" to Covid, and feel quite confident that I am not going to get sick! I think that I have a healthy immune system, and I take care of myself enough so there will be no "sickness" from this exposure!
Yes, I got the call yesterday - "someone in your department has tested positive for Covid. You need to quarantine for 10 days AND have a Negative test to return to work." Ummm, OK... meanwhile my family is HERE - baking pies!! Apparently it is Julie, who has tested positive. She and I are in the same "office", but we wear masks, and we are not seated near each other - fact is I am on one end of the room and she is on the other! At.Any.Rate., I know I have been exposed! UGH! I am already on Day 7 (IMHO) since she has been out of work since Thursday! Last day I saw her was Wednesday... UGH Just one more thing!
So... we started getting in touch with EVERYONE that had ordered pies... to give them the opportunity to "back out"... a lot did... a lot still wanted their pies! LOL I am the crust maker, so once I touch them they go in the oven... I stayed away from them once they went in the oven! I also put my mask on and worked with it on all day. We still had requests for 38 out of the original 55, so at least everything didn't go to waste! They are all done, except for 6 Strawberry-Rhubarb left to do. I only have 3 people coming here to "pick up" and I will have them out on the porch for them to grab - not come in the house! Poor Tracy will be delivering more, since my co-workers will not be AT the bank to receive them! Oh yes, our whole department was sent home for 10 days! Funny thing is - they ALL took PCs home to work from home! Interesting! Good news for me is I was slated to work from home starting Monday anyway - so no biggie for me and the 10 days, and I won't bother with a test either, since I am not returning to the office anyway! WHEW!
So much going on in 24 hours!! LOL
So Tracy called her boss, and was told since SHE was not exposed - she (and Ken) do not have to quarantine... so she is still doing the deliveries!!
So I simply commented yesterday that I would be staying home Thursday... welll didn't that cause a flurry of emotions! My sister said we'll wear masks... Tracy started crying... no one thinks I should stay home, due to the fact everyone has been here at one time or another since last week when I was exposed! What a circus!
Anyway - enough about that... another cup of coffee and catching up before the day has to truly "start"!

Jenny: WHEW You are sure on a roll, getting ready for TG!! LOL I cannot part with coffee mugs! I too am watching those movies, and setting them to record... so many I can't possibly watch them all when they are on!
Interesting that WW is picking up on some of the Noom ideals. I have been slacking on my Noom readings each day - hoping to get caught up next week!
Kathy's oncologist told her she doesn't need to worry any more than the next guy about Covid. Be smart, follow protocols, she will be fine. The folks that are "compromised" due to Radiation, are the folks that are getting radiation on major organs and bones (?) NOT the radiation she is receiving. So while she may begin to feel "tired" if she gets the rest she needs she will be no more susceptible than anyone else.
Gabrielle: LOL YES I AM!! I guess that should be my "gratitude" today - having the ability to work from home, during this time! I am not going in blind this time - and actually looking forward to NOT having the drive each day the next few (?) Months. Rumor has it that we get BOTH monitors this time too! SCORE! I heard from Deb yesterday, her transition to working from home wasn't going well - but this is HER first "rodeo"! She is also one that doesn't think Covid is anything to worry about "it's the flu"... so she is NOT taking to this change well at all!
I do think my being upstairs will keep me out of the kitchen more... and when I am working and Ken is home for lunch or Tracy is home (not sleeping) it will be for the best! Last time I remember her watching TV in the living room, and it was a bit distracting!
Worse thing for ME is I can't go into the building to get ANYTHING! I need to call IT when I arrive and they will deliver it to the sidewalk for me to grab and go.... ummm, NOPE... THEY can load it in my car for me! I will stay IN THE CAR and pop my hatch! LOL Hey even Wal-Mart loads the car for ya'! LOL We'll see... Next Saturday I will go to the bank and let myself in - when no one else is in our area - after the 10 days - to grab anything I find I need, but not the desk and chair. I do have an office chair here, and if memory serves, it's what I ended my last work from home using.
OH dear, I wore MY mask yesterday - but no one else did! I suggested it, no one took heed - not even Kathy... but if you read my post to Jenny - you see why. Hey I cannot force anyone to do anything! Even Tim, stayed here - after letting Jaclyn know... but then again, since I was exposed, Eden and Zoë spent the night Friday and all day Saturday here with me!
YAY that DH may eat a whole pie! LOL
Oh dear YES, get off the computer, and walk away from your phone!!! Do NOT answer those Team calls!!
Sue: MA has dropped the quarantine time to 10 days - I thought it was nationwide, CDC, but if Tonya is out for 14, maybe it IS just MA?? Anyway... I hope she comes back ASAP, but glad you and Gloria have a good start on the day today - and YAY to clocking out today at 4 MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Well this bout of Positive Covid is also shutting down the local Tech School... the gal that works with me - her fiancé works at Tech! Easy to fill in the blanks!
WOW PA did have a big jump didn't they?? It's crazy!!
So are Sarah and the gang back to going to Josh's parent's house for TG?? Let's hope with all those people living there, at some point or another, they don't? Then again, even my family isn't keen on my staying home... I just feel like I am "damned if I do, and Damned if I don't"!
Well with so many pies cancelled, like I said, I was in bed early last night. I think the stress of "everything" got to me, as I fell asleep early and slept pretty much all night! So overall 10 people chose to not get pies, worried about catching Covid through the pies I guess... 17 still want theirs! Still be a money maker for us, but a lot of supplies being held for next year!
I am a little "miffed" that part of my vacation time has been taken up by bank crap! Oh and NOW I have to go either today or Friday (on my own time) to pick up the PC! I may touch base with Crystal and tell her I am still waiting until Monday... not me just being "petty" I had no plans to be in Greenfield this week - unless I was able to get a pedicure! Well that's OUT... if I am quarantining I guess I can't be seen getting my nails done! LOL We'll see how my mood is by Friday!
If I am bringing home my two monitors - while they are not "big" they work fine... last time I could only hook up one monitor to that PC, that was a struggle! I will get a large one if I have to, but if I have my 2 usual ones, I should be fine.
Oh God yes... glad Colton is more like Josh - and yes, even HE seems to get all riled up and "reacts" if memory serves... but then when he calms down, he is easy to talk with. ♥

Hey Christine ~ Clouds are moving in here too... doesn't matter to me either. I am on vacation, but once the last 6 pies are done - I will just be cleaning the space upstairs getting ready for my "office"! Gotta wash the windows too - so while I am up there the sun can come in on me! LOL They are windows that get neglected more often than washed!
YES - Let's work on more water today - both if us! I will need to work on that as well! I remember last time "WFH" I made myself walk a lap around the house every hour - with winter coming I am not sure that will happen! I am thinking my 15 minute "break" can be on the E?? Wonder if I will make that happen!??!
Sounds like a busy day of Zoom meetings for you? Good luck with your internet - and having DH home! Hey, you can thaw that turkey in a sink of cold water - just in case? LOL Yes that will work to thaw a turkey, without getting food poisoning! I am still the gal that thaws mine on the kitchen counter!
Oh dear... let's hope calmer heads prevail over the closings of the bars and alcohol sales! I think I will have Tracy grab a bottle of wine for tomorrow after all! LOL
As you see big pie day was yesterday - today is just a few... oh yes the 6 strawberry rhubarb and 2 chocolate cream! No worries - my oldest DS will be here to SAVE THE DAY! LOL She is going to grab Zoë and she'll be up to see where we are "at"! I expect by NOON to be done with pies, and moving forward to watching Hallmark Movies! LOL

OH dear... in TRUE 2020 FASHION, my sister just called~ She did a self clean on her oven last night - and today she still can't release the lock to open the oven door! W.T.H.! We don't need her oven today for pies anyway - but TG dinner is now (possibly) coming here! UGH! I told her it's fine, but I am the one in quarantine! no one seems to "get that"!! I can't decide easier to cook the turkey here and bring it there? Or bring EVERYTHING here instead! This one is up to them - I don't care either way... except IF the whole dinner comes here - I will NOT be cooking it! Not my turn! We'll see what she comes up with for a solution! meanwhile - I need to get moving, so when she gets here to bake, I am at least dressed and ready to Just Get It Done! Working on my first 22 oz bottle of water now... let's do this! ♥hugs♥

Evening all, almost! I'm exhausted!! By about 2:00pm I was done! Gloria and muddle through and left at 4:00pm....we are working on Saturday for a few hours but that's OK. Jason might be working Friday?? If we were at David's it wouldn't be available but hey, make the extra $$$ when you can...we still have plenty of time off the next couple days. Looking forward to 3 out of 4 days w/o an alarm. We plan to work 6:00 - 10:00am so we still have the whole day. Yes, early but I would rather that than mid-day! Will be heading in on Monday at 6:00am too....it's the last day of the month and it could be a disaster. The 736 MEAP inventory was entered today so it will likely drop Friday or Monday and needs to be finished before we leave on Monday so it could be a long day!
Jenny....glad you got lots of things purged from the fridge and freezer yesterday. How big is your turkey? Will it be thawed by tomorrow?? They say a day for every 4-5 pounds. I checked my 7# chicken that was in the fridge since Monday supper time and it's still frozen in parts.....I actually just pulled it out to the counter for a couple hours so it's thawed by tomorrow! I love my Hallmark movies in the evening! Oh no Jenny.....Sarah challenges me ALL THE TIME, it's just amplified if she has been drinking! She has always been strong willed and defiant at times....don't get me wrong, she's a great kid and has so many awesome qualities but when she gets a "burr up her caboose" she is a PITA!! Always has been. Thanksgiving is a "burr" and she dug in her heels! It's OK.
Speaking of Thanksgiving....remember I made 2 pumpkin rolls for TG to originally bring to David's but when we decided to stay home, I planned to have one for TG and send the other home with Sarah because I know they love it and don't get it often. Well, I had Jason grab one of them this morning and he will drop it off to them when he heads down to the lot to finish the mowing tonight. Not sure how she will react but it doesn't matter.....it was not done to apologize in any way...I did it for the boys! Jackson and Kellen LOVE it and just because their parents are being stupid, they should not have to suffer!
Gabrielle...yes, I do think with some things people are a bit calmer this time around in the stores but will say for some reason TP is still a MUST HAVE....not sure if or when people will realize that they really can shop as they always do, they don't have to hoard stuff!
Christine....thanks for starting us off again this morning.....I was getting ready to do it but then glanced at the clock and realized I needed to "hit the road"! Rains will be arriving here soon....it was actually a pretty nice day and mild, almost 60° and sunny until 3:00pm or so....now it's getting gloomy and the rains will start soon until lunchtime tomorrow! Will say I did NOT do very well with water today....not bad but not great either....now being home for the next 4 days I need to be mindful to make sure I'm getting plenty!!
Hoping today you were able to walk away from your computer to refill your water....a 3 hour training would be tough with only 1 short break! Sounds like even though today will be quieter it's a full day at least until lunch time with the P/T conferences. Fingers crossed Gary doesn't slow down your connection. I think anything "virtual" take a lot of power!!
Yes Christine...our TG holiday is both Thursday and Friday which is really nice! Same for Jason but he may be working Friday....won't know for sure until he gets home. The Terminal is off Friday but RH Crawford the trucking company is not and they want to jockey more containers from the pier. There is a bunch that came in this week and they have to get them in a certain time frame and want to be able to actually drop them and not have to leave them in the parking lot then come back on Monday to get them in the doors. Who knows but Jason said it's been really busy this week and he has been working later Monday and Tuesday....

Christine...you are so right!! Unfortunately the die-hard Trumpsters are so hard to deal with and have any sort of civil discussion. Yes, we are sheep, lead blindly, living in fear, yadda, yadda, yadda....I have to give Gov. Wolf credit for trying to be proactive and hopefully alleviate the unsafe behavior in bars...we all know that the more people drink the less inhibited they are and them closer they will get and there will be no boundaries and the virus in present could spread like wild fire. Your DM as difficult as she can be is right....get a bottle of wine, grab a 6 pack and enjoy the time at home in a safer environment. I'm hoping that once the transition from Trump to Biden is complete, then the "Trumpsters" will simmer down and start to think like a civil human instead of the confrontational lot they are now.....
I totally agree Christine....why people feel the need to come in the store w/o masks when they can order ahead and have the food brought to the car and don't have to wear a mask. Stores have been very accommodating with curbside pick up, home delivery, etc....there is truly no excuse to be in the store w/o a mask! People are just inconsiderate and selfish.
Carole...hopefully pie day went smoothly yesterday and you finished on time today even with the monkey wrench DS through in! OMG Carole, not you too being exposed??? While Julie wears a mask at work, is she one that "does her own thing" outside of work?? They are making you quarantine AND get a COVID test too??? I thought Sheridan was tough but it's quarantine or test if you have just been exposed! As for those quarantining like Tonya, if she shows any symptoms then the quarantine starts over, she will have to be tested to confirm she is positive and she would then need a Negative test to return after a positive diagnosis. Glad the 10 days is not an issue for you since you were going to be working from home on Monday anyway.....how are you getting your computer and stuff??? Weren't you to go in and get it on Monday??
WOW, that does put a kink in the pie baking....glad you were cautious, wore your mask and once they hit the oven you were "hands off"! Poor Tracy now delivering more pie! Hopefully some of the stuff you got for the pies can be salvaged and not wasted....I'm sure depending on what pies were cancelled, some of the fruit/rhubarb will be lost. Good thing about flour, butter, etc they will not go to waste...heck, do you use canned pumpkin?? That keeps forever.
Yes Carole...that's the way it works....they only quarantine the one exposed and not the "secondary" exposed....the only way Ken & Tracy would have an issue is if YOU had symptoms and tested positive. When Kale and Rowan were exposed, Hannah & Shea did not have to quarantine.....same with Sarah's gang, only Kellen is quarantined.
Glad Kathy talked to her oncologist regarding her immune system and whether or not she was compromised. Hopefully she will be smart and keep her distance from everyone and maybe wear a mask if close.....that's a bit of a reassurance, I'm sure! LOL...yes, IT can bring it to you and put it in your car!! Good idea to head in to work next Saturday when the quarantine is over and gather anything you find you "need"....sounds like the upstairs office will be a "win win" for everyone! In PA they say 10-14...Sheridan says 14!
Speaking of Tonya....Gloria and I are now CERTAIN she knew on Thursday before she left that someone in her house was positive, either Matthew, Gabriel or both....today Doug said that she said to him on Thursday afternoon "I wonder if I'm going to need to quarantine for 14 days"....why would she ask that if she didn't already know. Between the sticky notes, stacks of stuff in front of her monitor and now what she asked Doug.....she knew!
Honestly Carole...I have no idea what Sarah and Josh are doing tomorrow and honestly, I don't care! They can be pi$$ed at us for "ruining" their TG but if this ruins their holiday it's sad....they could make some fun new memories/traditions....I'm done! I honestly don't think they will go to Josh's folks.....but can't say for sure! Maybe when Jason drops off the pumpkin roll he will know!
Yes....Colton is like Josh and gets all "tweaked out" but you can calm him down if you just tell him to go "chill" and then he rethinks things and while he's still a "preteen" and that brings it's own issues, he is a sweet, thoughtful kid and I think with a bit of guidance he will NOT be as head strong as Josh as an adult!
LOL Carole...man, when it rains it pours for you in true 2020 fashion!! Maybe Ken can figure out her oven and you won't have to "rethink" TG!
OK...time to go, Hannah will call to FT soon...it's Rowan's birthday today and we will FT to open his birthday gifts!
Will pop in tomorrow sometime! Waves to all I missed...hope all are well!
