Also just us two and no shopping!
39 this morning...high of 66. Brrr. Dog made mad dash for the bed and covers when they got back.
just saw that new info shows my county (Phoenix snd big cities nearby) has almost 11% antibodies. Remember in July we had worst rate in the world? So they figure the current cases are 8x test results.
Not happy about flooring Monday with just enough time for virus to kick in after Thanksgiving, but will keep distance, masks and drop covers plus disinfecting. Glad dentist, dr, Christmas stuff is done and county has mask mandates, so we can stay home...knock on wood.
The bookcases are Teak, from a local company called Copenhagen that imports Scandinavian furniture. There are three more in the family room. DH dreading the job of sorting and putting it back.
No ambition today and Thankful for almost three days if not having to do anything...moving a few things from kitchen SUNDAY night and putting up thin plastic drops in walk in pantry, over some cabinets.
Here is a quiz we can all ACE that will mystify millennials. www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/age-test-trivia-questions?bfsource=bfocompareon

Linda, I don’t envy you the chaos putting in flooring causes, but it will look great when it is done. Nice looking desk. Stripping paint from furniture is not easy.
Kathy, your poor cousin. It is a big change having a child back in the house and now a baby too. Yikes!
Becky, watching A Christmas Story is our Thanksgiving tradition. No Christmas stuff before then and no Christmas decorations until after my birthday.
Karen, how are the allergies? How was dinner? What was Sweet Potato’s treat?
Nephew#2 is home, as I mentioned but DB and DSIL have quarantined him to the finished basement, since he was on planes and in airports for many hours. I am sure a little R and R will ake him happy.
I went to Kroger and there were not too many people there. They were busy restocking the shelves. They had some good sales plus digital coupons, so I got a 10 lb bag of King Arthur AP flour and 5 lb bag of bread flour for half the usual price.
It is an overcast day but will reach the low fifties. I saw one neighbor had their Christmas decorations up. I put a wreath on the door. That’s it for the outside. I don’t know if Iggy will get more ambitious than that.
Anyway, I hope you are having a good day.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Iggy cleans up after he cooks? Impressive! Does he give lessons? We usually save A Christmas Story for Christmas Day when TBS runs it 24 hours straight. I will definitely catch the latest version of The Grinch at least once. We have that on DVD somewhere. I also want to see the new Dolly Parton Christmas movie on Netflix that stars Christine Baranski. Is DN#2 home to stay or just for a visit? Quarantining is a good idea. How are the number of cases in Japan? I guess everyone was at shopping venues other than grocery stores this morning. Probably because their fridges were stocked with leftovers. Great deals on the flour! Was the bread flour also King Arthur? That's the one I prefer but it's not very available here. Dinner was good. We recommend the Gardein Turk'y Cutlets. I need to start thinking about decorations for the outside. We'll hang wreaths on the gate but I was thinking about putting up the spiral tree that we brought from the other house but don't know if I want it to go in the front of the house or on the deck. If I put it in the front yard, it would probably be visible from the road, but if I put it on the deck, it would be visible from the lake--or what's left of it since they are draining it now. Allergies seem to be improving a bit. I did manage to muster enough energy this morning to spend time on the rowing machine and then go to the gym. Knees are not happy, however.
Becky, I forgot that WM said they would be closed yesterday. Smart move of HEB to take advantage of that. It doesn't look like it's raining in Austin rigt now but it's definitely cloudy. Are you getting rain? It kind of looked like you probably would on the a.m. weather. Did you get a chance to walk today?
Yes, Linda, you need to take that paint off the desk. Mahogony is such gorgeous wood! I originally had a room with huge bookcases in the house plans but I lost that and the dedicated dining room when the quote came in about double what we could afford. So I have bookcase envy. It's good that you got to spend a little time with the family at a distance. You had a busy day yesterday. That was a cold walk for Micki this morning. I don't blame him for wanting to crawl back under the covers. I saw this morning that they are saying the actual covid rate is probably 8 times the number of positives. And that number is scary enough without multiplying it. Do you know if it will be just one guy again to install flooring on Monday? I aced the quiz.
Denise, we had a nice day yesterday, and any BF shopping here will be online. I saw pictures on the a.m. news of one of the larger outlet malls and it is only about 4 blocks from my gym, but traffic going to and from the gym was not much heavier than normal this morning. I can relate to the need to clean stuff out. When we moved here almost 5 years ago, we cleaned out a ton of stuff, most of it got donated. But we have accumulated yet again.
Good luck to UCF today, Kathy. I don't think USF is that good this year, so it should be an easy win. Texas is playing Iowa State right now and it's a pretty tight game. Your cousin definitely has a lot going on right now. Is the daughter and family moving in just a temporary thing? That could be a challenge with 2 kids under the age of 2 and 1 being a newborn. I wish them luck, whatever the long term plan is.
Liz, I hope you're having a nice time off. Did you hear from DS yesterday? I know both of you are probably disappointed that your usual BF shopping extravaganza didn't happen this year.
BBCA has the Lord of the Rings trilogy on today, so we're watching that while the football game is at the half. I plan to rest for the remainder of the day and let my knees recover.

Chele, thanks for the start. I had a nice outside visit with DM yesterday and a nice meal. Yes, that is a huge change for my cousin. They have a cute beach house and had already converted part of the upstairs into a separate living area. It has its own entrance and a small kitchen. It's not a big house though and it will be a lot of activity with a one year old. He's just starting to push himself around on the furniture, so will be walking before too long. My cousin works from home, so that's going to be a challenge too.
Linda, love the wood in the bookcases and desk. My mom has a pretty teak dining table and buffet. I missed the one on the quiz about the holder for matches. It looked a lot like the mailbox we had when I was growing up, except ours was black. The mailman used to bring the mail up to the box by the door and put the mail in the holder. Outgoing mail was attached to the bottom part with a clothespin. Did anyone else have one like that? Not only did he bring the mail up to the house, but he rode a bicycle!
Karen, how was your "turkey" dinner? Did you see that the dog that won Best in Show was a Scottish Deerhound named GCH Foxcliffe Claire Randall Fraser? They call her Claire for short. Hope your allergies are better today. A lot of the online stores had Black Friday deals all week, so I've already done a bit of shopping. I haven't bought anything so far today though. We're in the 80s again today. DBIL and DS both do the cleanup. He does most of the laundry too! DS does keep her more delicate clothes out of the general laundry and does those herself.
Waving to everyone. Enjoy your leftovers if you have any!

Karen, the daughter and family were living in Chicago, but the son-in-law got laid off. He decided to go back to school and the daughter is working remotely, so this is just a temporary arrangement to help them save some money. I'm not sure how long term it will be. They are happy to be able to see more of them, but it will be a bit cozy.

That was a cool looking laid back dog!
That paint removal would be professional...especially inside the desk. Do not want to think what it costs.
I think we are the only people in the world who do not enjoy Christmas Story..his relatives watch it multiple times. My old favorites are the original We're No Angels on Devil's Island with Aldo Baldo , Ustinov , Bogart as the convicts and Leo G Carroll as the bumbling shop keeper and Basil Rathbone as the wicked uncle. Then the original Bishop's Wife with Carey Grant as the angel, David Niven as the bishop, Loretta Young as his wife. Then there is Christmas in Connecticut.
Wow, lot of people in one small house even with separate areas. Good luck to him.

Thanks for the start Chele. I'm sorry about your nephew. I was looking at the guide on TV yesterday and I noticed A Christmas Story was on but it only had 30 minutes left so I didn't bother. HEB was busier than I thought they would be but not bad for a Friday. They were open from 6-12 yesterday and I talked to one of the employees and said they had to cut the line at twenty minutes before closing or they would have been there all day. She said the line wrapped around the building. I cannot imagine waiting until the last minute to shop for Thanksgiving.
Linda I don't blame you for not looking forward to the flooring so soon after Thanksgiving.
Karen Early this morning we had thunder and a brief shower. Rain has taken a break but there is a 90% chance all day tomorrow. It would be nice since we need it so bad. I did get a longer walk in this afternoon a different direction and I must have overdone it because my IT band has been so tight ever since. I do have to go up a hill on the way home and that probably did it.

Kathy, we liked the turk'y cutlets and plan to stock some in the freezer. My Publix has them. I saw the Scottish Deerhound on the a.m. news but they didn't mention her name. Perfect name for a Scottish dog. We have a friend from NC who relocated from Chicago and she had a basset hound named "Claaaaire". I've done some BF shopping over the past couple of weeks. I've probably gotten at least 50 emails today announcing more deals, but I am waiting for one from Garmin that has % off everything so I can get Dale a new watch band for his running watch. Nice that DBIL also does most of the laundry. Not here. Dale says he can't figure out "my" washer. It's a HE. After living in Chicago, NSB is probably quite a change for your cousin's daughter and family. It's good that she can work from home. Does your cousin work outside the home? If so, it's probably good to have someone home all day. I was surprised the UCF game was as "close" as it was. TX lost at the end of the game, which is what they did against Iowa State a year ago, by almost the same score. That should put them out of contention for the Big 12 Championship. We also watched Carolina and ND. Disappointed in that result but not unexpected. They kept it close.
You're right that it would be best to have a pro take the paint off the desk, Linda. I have never heard of We're No Angels. I thought I had seen all the "old" movies. I have seen the others you mentioned. My current favorite Christmas movie is Bad Moms Christmas. I'm sure it will be on frequently over the next month, but I even saw it once or twice over the summer.
Denise, amen on not putting up with crowds, especially right now. There is no way they could have been doing a lot of physical distancing, even though they were only letting a certain number of people in stores at any given time. You should have seen the crowds on the sidewalks in front of the stores!
It's good that you got to HEB when you did yesterday, Becky, because it sounds like it got a lot busier after you left. Some people seem to thrive on waiting til the last minute. That would drive ne nuts. If you don't have to go out tomorrow, I hope you do get a good bit of rain. You definitely need it. Sorry on the IT band after your walk. You're probably on the money about the uphill section causing the problem. I hope you can get it loosened up.
Chele, I've been meaning to ask you how Iggy is doing with managing his time in retirement. Is he finding things to keep him busy most of the time?
Today has seemed like Saturday all day. Maybe I'll catch up in my mind watching my gardening shows tomorrow.
