Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I did. Yes, it was very quiet. I did enjoy turkey dinner. Was not a fan of the homestyle gravy that the turkey came with but the turkey breast was good. Sent pic of my dinner to DB. They are planning on having turkey for Christmas dinner since I missed yesterday. DSIL says I can make the cranberry sauce.
I tried watching the Macy’s parade, but I’v never been a fan just wanted to see what it would be like without the crowds.
Today will be a nice but overcast day. I’ll head out for a walk later.
I think I’ll make sauce so I can have chicken parm (healthy version) on Sunday. I have plenty of whole wheat pasta to have with the sauce.
Ruth - I know you have a Ninja Foodie. Do you think I could make chicken nuggets or tenders in that without drying them out? I usually bake them. I’m looking for different but healthy ways to enjoy chicken.
Enjoy your day

Good morning all. Welcome to Black Friday! I will not be in stores today shopping! I did order a couple skeins of yarn from Michael’s and will do a curbside pick up of that later on today. Ordered a few other presents online last night. Will get my list going today.
Joy, I’m sure you can use the air fryer for the chicken nuggets and all. Stan did the small boneless turkey breast we had yesterday in it. First he did it on the InstaPot settings and kept it moist and then at the end he did the Air Fryer part and browned the skin on it. He just looked and said there are all kinds of recipes on line for doing frozen chicken nuggets in the AirFryer. We haven’t, but may next time. We like perogies, those Russian dough with a filling inside. We get them at Costco. Well you can steam them (blah) or you can fry them in a little oil. Had always fried them; but the other night Stan did them in the Ninja w/o any oil and they cooked and browned very nicely. So we too will start doing more things like that in it. If it’s going to take up so much room on the counter it might as well be useful!!!
Not much else planned for today. Some cleaning, maybe putting up the tree, maybe a few other decorations, then some knitting. Have to use that new yarn!!!
Have a great day all and I’ll bbl to check in!!

Ruth - thanks for the info. I know these appliances take up a lot of counter space and I don’t have a lot. I’ve been thinking about using my spare bedroom to store things when I don’t use them. I have a wire shelving unit like the ones I used in the basement. I could put it in my spare room, put things there instead of keeping in the basement. I could put my crockpot, food processor, toaster oven, etc. on the shelves and move them to the kitchen when I want to use them. It would be so much easier than dragging up the stairs and I might use them more often. Right now I just have a dresser, the other shelf, ironing board and a couple of empty bins in that room. Hmmm ...
Putting this on my list. Since I’m trying to eat healthier this might just work.

Joyce, that sounds like a good idea to be able to store extra kitchen items in your spare room and avoid the steps.
Ruth, it sounds like the way Stan cooked the turkey breast was a hit. Hope Mara had a good birthday celebration yesterday. I’m sure she enjoyed getting some new gifts. I ordered a few things last night on line when we got home, still need to find out what DGS#1 wants.
Martha, enjoy your day off and I hope you can get some of the items put away. I found another small box of pictures that I need to sort thru. I have sorted a lot of them but now need to decide what to do with them.
Yesterday was very nice. DS and DDIL bought a used dining room table and chairs during the summer. All 3 of the grands told us this would be the first time they ate in the dining room and were very excited that we were there to eat with them. The dinner turned out very good and we had a great time seeing the kids. The grands really like when DS#2 visits, he spends time with each of them and they get so excited. DDILs family is a mess right now and as a result they don’t see her family much. Bill and DS#2 are up at the lake and are closing it up for the winter. The whole process takes about 4 ½ hours, 2 hours driving time and about 2 to 2 ½ hours for the actual closing up. I want to get the house decorated, although not doing near as much as other years. I brought all the Christmas decorations up and hopefully tomorrow Bill will assemble the tree. I have to stay in till my procedure on Monday afternoon so thought this would be a good time to get that done.

Joy, that would be great to have the appliances that close at hand! And you would use them more often I’ll bet. Our laundry room is right off the kitchen and it has a set of double folding doors on the closet. We have about 1/4 of it for our coats we use regularly (change it over twice a year with the front entry closet); and 3/4 of it is wire shelving Stan installed years and years ago. We use it for storing crock pots, the InstaPot, and extra baking sheets and all. The entire thing could stand to be cleaned out too. (But what can’t, it’s everywhere I look!). Anyway, I asked DD here in town if she wanted another InstaPot, nope! I already know DS/DIL don’t since they have 2 (she used to make yogurt in one, don’t know what she does now)!!! Anyway I asked older DD and she said they have one but the twins might want one. So I asked one of the twins and she said yes, they would happily take it. They are 3 hrs away, but I’ll either ship it or if we get together to exchange Christmas presents I’ll bet it to them! DH has a few add-ones he bought to use with it that he thinks might not work with the AirFryer so I’ll have him go thru all of them. Get it all together for the girls. And something else that’s going!
and I got a charity pick up scheduled too. And about the same time I want to have things together to go to Bridging (where we take furniture, linens, etc.). I have taken the 2 comforters we bought for two guest beds when we moved in to the cleaners and they are good to go. And I washed the table covers, curtain toppers, pillow covers, etc. that go with them. They will love having the complete sets. And they are like new condition because of being on guest beds. And I have a few dishes and things to add in. And maybe a vacuum cleaner.
Just spent a half hour getting the dog hair off the glider/rocker and ottoman that was my mom’s. Does anyone else hate dog/cat hair with a passion??? DH just shakes his head at me. It drives me nuts!!! I need to take the handheld vacuum to the creases in the back of that chair and down the sides of the two couches today. They are all bad!
Mara had a great time enjoying her cake, although she mostly ate frosting. I’ll send you a picture of the cake. It was Care Bears and very well done! DIL took the extra to work for the break room for the nurses who were working overnight. A nice treat!
ok, going to run to Michael’s and get my yarn, curbside pick up. DH said he’s willing to stand in line at Trader Joe’s if I want to go inside Target while he does. Is he nuts!!! It’s Black Friday! I’ll take my knitting and sit in the car thanks!
Have a good day all.

Waving HI to all~ Today has not gone as wished it to. Slept in. DH asked for waffles for bfast. After cleaning up, watched Adam Dalglish (mystery). Then I headed to bedroom to take a nap, which lasted much longer than had planned. Hoping I'm not getting sick. Late lunch - non-thanksgiving leftovers. In a couple hours, dinner will be a T-Day repeat.
Saw the pics of Mara's care bear birthday. Frosting is sometimes the best part of a cake.
I like the idea of a shelf area for over-size/not frequently used kitchen appliances close to kitchen. Unfortunately, I don't have the space for it.
When I got up this morning, there was frost on the car. Haven't even poked my nose out the door today.
HUGS
