This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends! I hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving day. I certainly didn't mean to skip posting yesterday, but we stayed busy here, so the day kind of got away from me.
Before our holiday meal we drove the 4 of us and the doggo up to that little park on the bluff that DH and I visited last week. The weather was perfect, the view was amazing and there was even a bald eagle soaring around overhead. We walked the path there for a while and it was really nice. Then we came back home and ate, then relaxed for a bit before having a small wedge of DDs keto cheesecake that she made and brought, then we put on a movie that we've been watching for probably 20+ years and then started game night.
Today will be pretty quiet, I think. Probably another game and another movie and some point and we're also planning to all go for another walk at the bigger park with the path that follows the lake. That will put us within a couple of miles of Publix, so Mark is going to call ahead to order and he'll pop in to pick up some of their non-breaded spicy wings for our supper tonight. That will make it really easy on me (and my back), with no cooking and minimal clean-up, because I did think ahead and bought some sturdy paper plates just in cane. Haha! Yay!!!
My back is still bothering me, but has progressed from painful to just really sore & stiff - if that makes sense. I'm just ready for this to be done with. I'm not sure if the walking is overall helping, hurting, or neither. But it helping with the stiffness, I think.
Anyway, time for coffee, so I'll have to catch up on yesterday's posts later.
I'm beyond grateful to have each of you in my life.

Anything is possible if you have the right people there to support you.

Good morning! Lora, sounds like a lovely Thanksgiving. I think walking in nature is happiness and peace. Enjoy your day today! Susie, glad the Zoom worked out and your Thanksgiving was nice. Today I am headed to the fitness center and I have to buy groceries for next week. My DD being home is good for my heart, and that will keeps me going. 😀 DS is headed to Tampa to work the UCF vs. USF game... if anyone watches, you'll see him at the 15 yard line on the field. I am worried about my middle DS who doesn't seem to like me very much right now. His words don't say that, but his actions do. 🙁 I am quite sad about it. He just doesn't know what to do with his life, he's taken a break from college this semester but he's in a hurry to do but doesn't know what. (sigh) The Christmas Director and DD decorated the inside of the house last night, so festive. I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Everyone, Not doing too much but after my sister drops off the care package I do want to take a quick ride to the dollar tree ( now that I have the negative result) but of course wearing mask, social distancing ).
Other than that and some vacuuming and doing a load of laundry at some point I plan to read another book I started yesterday. I originally thought it was one of those sci-fi books which I really have no interest in but reading the cover it wasnt but a mystery book. I never used to be much into mystery books either but the ones I read that I had borrowed from my sister at the beginning of all this got me more interested in them.
Maybe I might try to work on that lesson plan again but not holding too much hope that it will be any better than yesterday . I just hate to keep it hanging over me though but if it takes me less time to do it at work maybe but then I also have to work on the new one as well for the following week. Ugh! I need to talk to our family worker or whoever did the schedule for extended care if we do go back on Monday because I had to do it the previous week on the last day before we left. They let go of the temp staff. Lora, glad that your Thanksgiving meal was nice. Sorry that your back is still bothering you but glad it's at least improved some. Have a great day!!

Question- does anyone know if one of those portable DVD players would also play a music cd? I have an older DVD but dont want to hook it up to my TV anymore.I thought I could just stick in my older laptop and it would play but it didnt. I think I may try it again because it says audio cd. Maybe I just dont have the volume turned up.

Hello Hello everyone...I was up early and off to my outdoor exercise class. It is supposed to get really cold next week and they will start offering a Tues/Thurs noon session of the class they have on M-W-F for those who just can't handle the bitter cold in the morning (that may be me if they don't start offering the limited indoor M-W-F class when the temps drop below freezing ...which I think will happen on the mornings next week).
YDD and ODD shopped some online Black Friday deals, plus went to at least one store that opened today at 10 for some great stocking stuffer deals and YDD picked up some for me to use for stockings - yippee!
YDD and her DBF will be by later to put up our tree and have dinner with us...they will head back to Boston tomorrow 😥, but it has been a wonderful visit, and DD is planning a trip back in January.
Lora - it really sounds like a fabulous Thanksgiving Day... I loved all your activities. Also love the quote today!
Jill - love that DD being home is good for your heart. Is there some specific reason that DMS is not happy with you, or is it just that he is not happy with his life right now? I hope YDD and her DBF become a busy Christmas decorating team this afternoon. I don't even have anything out yet. I did pull the box with the tree in it over to the garage door though so it is ready to be unpacked - ha!
Janet - Yippee for the negative test results! If you try working on the lesson plan, I sure hope you are more successful than yesterday. Sorry your temp staff is gone..darn. Enjoy reading or whatever you get into today. I keep thinking today is Monday...ha ...my exercise instructor thought the same thing - lol!
OK...off to do something constructive...think I will try to finish cutting masks with the fabric that I currently have...bbl

Well, I did work on the plan more and sent it to my friend again but told her there are parts that I have to either add or fix some but that is better than having to work on most of it next week on top of the other one too. If we get back to work by Tuesday or Wednesday if not Monday it still will be easier for me to do it on the computer than by this very cumbersome method. Susie and Jill, glad both of you also enjoyed being with your family. My sister drove to us to deliver each of us the platter of food. We both live close to each other within 5 minutes really by driving. She said for Hanukah she is going to do the same but it's just not the same tho. Hopefully next year!
I took a ride over to my friend's place and checked the mail and did some cleaning up her refrigerator and pantry next to it. Got rid of a lot of old food that she isn't going to eat. She mainly eats deli and orders out a lot because she can't really stand long enough to cook, hold things and loses her balance so easy. My back was starting to ache me tho so I stopped but made some progress.
Going to read some, cuddle with Cassie and have some delicious brisket.

Good evening everyone.
We had a wonderful visit to NC. My Pop stayed with his DS and BIL. We all had lunch at her house. DH and I stayed with my cousin who is more like a brother to me than a cousin. We got to see all 3 of his boys. This morning we got up and took Pop to see his oldest sister. Her DD won't really let her go out or anywhere. We didn't tell her we were coming - we just showed up. I just don't know how many more holidays my Pop will have with this siblings and I want him to see them as much as possible.
I am feeling a little bit guilty that my DS and DD were here in VA alone. They did spend the day together. They could have gone with us but DS had to work today and DD's BF would not leave his mom for Thanksgiving. BUT DD was not invited to BF's mother's home for Thanksgiving. It makes me angry but not much I can do about it.
Lora sounds like you have had a wonderful visit with your DD and SIL. I am glad that your back is starting to feel better. The weather sounds really good there. It has been beautiful here.
Jill I am sorry that your YDS is feeling a little lost at the moment. I am sure will figure out his life and what he wants to do. Glad that your other kids were there with you.
Janet you are so very good to your DF. I hope she appreciates all that you do for her.
Waving to RobinMD and everyone else that I missed.
