This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good Morning - We had a wonderful day yesterday. YDD and DBF got our tree up for us and put the first ornament on the tree, then we spent the evening together. They will be heading back to Boston this morning. DGS in Florida has been facetiming me each evening; they will be back home on Monday. Today I will probably work on getting the outdoor lights finished and maybe work on the tree &/or house decorations.
Jana - so so happy that you had a good trip and that Pops got to see his sisters. This is a tough year; I am also disappointed that DD's BF's mother did not invite her for Thanksgiving...too bad she didn't go with you, but at least she was here with her DB.
Lora - does DD leave today? Is today or tomorrow when you have dinner with Mark's parents? I think your holiday has been about as good as Thanksgiving 2020 could be (except for your back, of course).
Jill - I think your house must feel like the song "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas." Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Janet - I know 2020 was not your usual holiday, but it sounds like your DS did make sure you had a delicious meal...and I am sure Cassie enjoyed a bite or two of it - lol! You are a very good friend cleaning out the fridge, etc. I think you made a wise decision to stop when your back started to hurt...do not overdo.
RobinMD - so how did yesterday go? You had to work...right?
RobinS - I know it wasn't the best Thanksgiving for anyone, but I hope you and DH were able to enjoy the day.
Waving to everyone...hope to bbl

Good morning! Happy Saturday! I am so happy that the weekend is just beginning! Susie, sounds like wonderful times with your daughters. Whenever you look at your tree, I am sure you'll smile at the memory of this week. Also, how fun for both you and your DGS for the Facetimes! Lora, I am sure your trail walks were wonderful. Goodness, I sure hope your back is improving. Having people over does make for movements your back might not be used to. But I bet the walks help??? Janet, being on the computer seems like it'd be a big help to you. That's such a nice idea for your DS to make the platter for food. Hopefully next year will have more normalcy with all of the holidays. How nice of you to work on the fridge at your friend's home. That could have been a huge messy problem when she returns if you hadn't thought of that! Jana, gosh sounds like a fun Thanksgiving for you and Pops! Sorry about DD's not being invited. So many decisions don't make sense right now. RobinMD, I am wondering if the paramedics are extra busy after Thanksgiving? Or was it less this year? I don't know what black Friday shopping was like today, if it was as stressful as other years? But that has to lead to accidents. I hope you are getting rest. So, WI was this morning and I lost .9 of a lb. I'll take it! I will be cautious though, since the after effects from Thanksgiving still might show up. But, I truly think the gym and IF is really helping. I am trying to maintain, so this week I had several "extras" and I guess the plan is working. So I think my thinking needs to be staying on the same plan I've been doing... for life. Then the extras added in are what will keep it at maintenance. In the past, I've just stopped the dieting - then that's when it all came back. This time I think it's more of a lifestyle for me. The fitness center and IF combination makes a huge difference for me, I think. So that will be forever, I hope. (Thank you for listening to me ramble... I am always trying to figure things out.) Today we are not planning on going on our treat date since we had it big at Thanksgiving. I think today my DD and I might work on making a wreath together before she heads back south. I am so enjoying having her here. DS was at the 20 yard line working the football game yesterday, so I took a picture of him from the TV. I'll post it on the FB page. He works the Buccaneers game on Sunday, then a women's basketball game on Tuesday. THEN, he'll be coming back home. He did a great job with decorating the house, with his sister's help. 🎄 My MDS just really makes me nervous. I think him seeing the successes of his sister and brother make it harder for him. I know he wants to get on with his life, but isn't making the good decisions to do it. I get the Covid bit is hard, but there are ways to keep going. (sigh) I hope everyone has a nice Saturday! Waving hi to all of you!👋

Hi Everyone, I made an appointment for today to have my tire/s looked at. The tire pressure light came on last week but with not having had the covid test yet I cancelled it because I didn't want to take any chance connecting with anyone. Hopefully they maybe can get me in sooner than the appointment time which is at noon but if not it's ok. It may give me a few minutes to get to the bank before dropping it off.
I found out last night while I was looking through Facebook that a former co worker passed away. We were teaching partners for 7 years in a row. We didnt thankfully have the issues I have now with my current partner. About almost two years ago we got together for lunch after a long time trying to get together but our schedules never matched each other's in terms of days off, vacation time. I don't know what the cause was but I know that this was the year I believe she was about to retire.
Cleaning out my friend's refrigerator and getting rid of all this extra stuff has been something I have been wanting to do but after running around and shopping before all that I just wanted to go home and had other things I had to do. That's about it for now. Have a great day! Cassie doesn't eat people food for the most part but if I have crumbs from crackers on a plate she will lick the plate. Lol. Silly!

Happy Saturday, everyone, Susie, sounds like a great week, topped off by getting the tree and first ornament up. I hope your DD has a safe trip home. I did just a little decorating yesterday....I won't be home a lot, and people won't be coming over so I really don't want to go ALL out, and then just have to put it away! I do like to have a few things out, and I always have my Christmas music going I did work a half day at the office yesterday, and it was fairly light. I was kind of wishing I had thought to take it off, though! HA! Lora, the hike sounded so nice with everyone. I hope your DD has a safe trip back home, too! And I hope you guys have a good visit with the in-laws. I love your grand-pup! Looks like a sweetie... I love when my grand-pups come to visit! They always carry on and act so happy to be here. Jill, this time of year is very busy. This year worse because of covid, but on the fire side, there are chimney fires, house fires caused by heaters, etc. As far as the EMS side, we haven't seen any flu yet, but covid is now going through the stations, too, so they are starting to pull Paramedics to other stations to help with coverage throughout the county. We are under strict orders to wear PPE while in the station or risk losing our license! Very extreme. We are anticipating a big spike in the next couple of weeks, due to the Thanksgiving get-togethers, but we will have to wait and see about that. I hope your MDS is able to figure things out. I am sorry he has been more distant and irritable with you. This time of life is hard, when you're trying to find your way, and feel like you should "be" somewhere in life when you aren't sure where you want to be! I'm glad you had such a good time with family and got the decorations up. Jana, sounds like a nice visit with your family. Did DF seem to have a good time? Do you have the rest of the weekend to just hang out and relax a little? Janet, so nice of you to be taking care of things for your friend. It is hard to imagine where she would be without you. You are certainly her angel I had to laugh at Cassie licking up the cracker crumbs! She is such a sweetie. I hope you have a relaxing weekend ahead of you. I am off today, but picked up a 12 hour shift tomorrow. I still have Monday off, so that will be good. The girl I'm working with is the wife of my usual partner. For today, I still need to paint a little bit of trim on the poolhouse, but I don't know how warm it will be. I think upper 50's so that would be ok. I do need to make a short trip to the store for a couple of things, but I really don't need much. I also really need to vacuum downstairs. I am going to get a little more coffee and a bite of breakfast. I will bbl, but for now, I am waving to all! RobinMD

Jill - a loss is a loss and that is awesome at Thanksgiving! I have noticed that the middle child in many families has issues...sounds like this is true for your DS. I notice a lot of similarities between my DS (a middle child) and my MGD (also middle). Sure hope he is OK. Enjoy your day.
Janet - very sad that just as she was about to retire, your former partner passes away...it seems that this happens more often that we would like. Glad you were able to have lunch with her even if it was almost 2 years ago.
RobinMD- I think having a few Christmas items out (especially your favorites or those that bring you special memories) can really help you feel better - especially this year! My YDD will not be here for Christmas BUT is planning to be back sometime in January- sure hope she is able to do so!!! I think she and DBF have to get a covid test when they return to Boston...either that or stay quarantined for 2 weeks.
Well, we will see how this coming week shapes up--- I know the public schools are going back to totally virtual...not sure yet what will happen with MGD's private school yet.

Cassie was trying to catch a mouse this morning. As much as I don't want them I dont like the idea of using pesticides. My friend had bought me a mouse trap but she told me how hard it was to use them that I am reluctant to use it myself. She didnt actually kill it though. I wish she had then I would have just threw it out. If I had been dressed at the time I would have tried catching it and let it go outside. I used to have gerbils as a kid so it doesn't freak me out horribly. I am at the tire place. The guy says the tire had this very small tiny hole that apparently went in went in right out. The guy needs to make the hole the hole a little bigger and then he will patch it up. He said that it is permanent and not a plug. So will hang around because it won't be an all day deal which I thought maybe it might be. I did get to Target this morning. They didnt have my flavor of coffee. Bought this other flavor I used to buy but really don't feel like going to Walmart this weekend. Target wasnt too bad and I just had a few items so went to the Express line.

Hello again,
Well I have my uniform ready, some soup and crackers for lunch, and everything is ready to go for work tomorrow. I think the weather is supposed to be nice again. I was able to finish the trim painting today. Next is the garage trim, and the front porch trim. I am on a roll! The only problem will be having a day that has mild temps. Other than that, I just went to the store and got a few things...they had salmon portions on sale, so I got one and had it for dinner sauteed with some terriyaki, and a baked potato, a small salad and a side of cranberries that I made on Thanksgiving. Good stuff!
Susie, I do enjoy having a few things out. The girls got trees this year, so they are coming by to go through the ornaments and see what they want. I love to hand them down. I also have my mom's Christmas things, so they might go through that, too.
Janet, my cat used to catch mice, and then didn't know what the heck to do with them! I think he was a little afraid of them. I have had a bit of a mouse problem this year, but I haven't had signs of them lately. I am hoping they are gone.
I am going to head to bed soon, and snuggle with the pups before turning off the lights. I slept good last night, so I am hoping for a repeat tonight! I hope everyone has a great Sunday...waving to all.

Janet - I used to set mouse traps in the old house. The easy thing was, since they are so cheap, you just set it and then throw the whole thing (with the mouse in it) away.
RobinMD - I used to get an ornament for the kids each year. I know YDD chose some several years ago to put on her first tree. Most of them I have kept because each was a special memory for that year, but I don't put them all on the much smaller tree we have now. When going through my DM's house after she passed away, I couldn't believe all the Christmas stuff they had in the attic. I think there were maybe 3 trees, etc. There was so much stuff...part of my trying to stay downsized in every way.
I am off to bed...night all
