Good morning friends. Another great night of sleep. Today there isn't a thing on our agenda. I do need a few things at Walmart and if we do go, we'll hit the larger one as they have a better selection.....we shall see how the day goes.
Walking will also happen as well as reading and just relaxing with the Christmas tree lit and music playing.
Will CBL........off to do my regular online chores

Hey Ann and friends,
The day started with another call with the builder. Things are moving fast! I get a little anxious on these calls because DH questions everything and he is so used to overseeing big projects. Heās not easygoing but very particular about every detail. So, sometimes I just bow out. Iām sure heās probably right to keep a close eye and Iām one to just let the builder do his thing. The builder is a good guy but I guess you never know. My track record based on that horrible attorney I trusted speaks for itself. š³
Ann, enjoy your day. Itās a nice one here and the rain is gone.
We had another nice coyote concert last night. So eerie! I talk to Doug and tell him that he MUST not run out the door and escape again. Terrifying!

Good morning!
I slept well and could have slept longer, but I have to get up and have enough coffee to wake me up and get me moving. I met Debbie at 7:30 for our walk. It was humid and foggy, but no rain and a little cooler than yesterday. I am enjoying breakfast and more coffee and news reading before heading to the shower. DDs and DGDs will be here late morning for a craft day. I also want to get the gumbo made so the turkey carcass isnāt taking up space in the fridge.
Breakfast is fresh pineapple, muesli and yogurt. Lunch will be a turkey sandwich with raw veggies and an apple. Dinner is bbq ribs, potato salad and sauteed squash.
Have a great day!

Judy I can so appreciate your concern. I'm sure DH has his reasons for wanting to oversee...old habits die hard! Yes DO keep Doug inside where it's safe! We also hear the coyotes late at night....it's a very eerie sound indeed.
Pam wonderful you got your walk in already. Me? working in slo-mo. I'll go out, just not yet. Enjoy making your gumbo and especially your craft day.
I balanced the checkbook and wrote out final payment on our car loan. That's a wonderful feeling!!!! Carl wants to wait till the 1st to mail it out as he got the 'figure' via phone and that way it'll all match up. Me? I'd do it now LOL....but that's me.
Listening to our most listened to songs via Alexa...everything from Dean to the Stones to Peter Paul and Mary..quite the mix LOL.
Waving and will CBL

Hi again,
Ann, thanks for understanding. I get so frustrated at times. Arghh! All the plans, including septic design have been engineered and submitted and all are approved. Next and last step in the approval process is to get the actual building permit which was scheduled to happen Monday. Now, DH just told the builder he wants to move the septic closer to the house and take a tree down to do it. That means more test pits will have to be done with excavation, another septic design and another approval. I just donāt get it and Iām beyond aggravation. More money, more time and for what? Itās not that far out into the yard now and the site was selected by the engineer as the best. I know I am venting with all of you and thank you for that. But, it does make me lose interest in working so hard to clear out this house right now. I just donāt see a reason for unnecessary work and delays to a schedule based on 20 feet or so. DH claims he never wanted the septic that far out into the yard. This kind of a delay could push things back by a month. The builder asked him if he had any specific reason why this has to change. He replied that he just wants it closer. I donāt win in these kind of discussions so Iām just backing away but I am very frustrated and annoyed. Why make it so difficult? It probably doesnāt sound like that big a deal to you three reading this but weāve had daily discussions with this builder for months now about every aspect. Iām not one for second guessing and once I make a decision I live by it. DH will be OK with it and then he changes his mind. Sorry for complaining I guess Iām just looking for some sympathetic ears. I think Iāll take the day off!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
I am a little bit late joining the party today. I went out early and met VBF at WW for our monthly WI. I was down another 0.3 which the receptionist thought was great considering day before yesterday was Thanksgiving. I'm just happy to be down and not paying. VBF and I scheduled our next WI for three weeks from now due to Christmas, so I won't show a big loss (again) but I'm in this for the long haul, so it's all good. I had compared my weight from Wednesday to this morning when I woke up and I was only up 0.4 overall, so that was very good!
VBF and I went through the drive-thru at McDonald's and got Egg McMuffin and coffee and then drove to a less used parking lot and parked side by side and both of us sat in our cars with the heat on and the windows open (my driver and her passenger) and visited while we had our treat. It was easily 6 feet plus fresh air! We made a coffee date for a future date and will do the same thing - only with Starbuck's coffee.
I ran a couple of errands while I was out and dropped off the big box of Christmas decorations at the Thrift Store. They were very happy with them! I hope they find good homes. At least they're out of my basement!
I came home and changed our bed, and changed the covers. We now have the Christmas comforter set on with Christmas trees and stars and hearts and the snowman throw pillows with big smiling faces that matches our comforter. I put on snowy white sheets and it will look so inviting tonight! The other sheets are washing. That is another room decorated!
I am planning to go for a walk now while the sun is shining. We haven't seen it for a couple of days. I will come back later for personals.
BBL. Make a great day!

Sue happy you got to go to your WW meeting. Great being down .3 over the holiday. That's a win in my book. Any kind of loss or maintain this time of the year rocks!
How wonderful to get and visit with your friend while enjoying a treat. I bet that felt good. Kukos on dropping off the decorations and getting another room one and done.
We took a nice hood walk. Not much sunshine (sun playing peekaboo) but still a great day to walk. We did 2.5 miles. Carl decided that he wants a repeat of thanksgiving once again and is off picking up stove top stuffing LOL.....we will enjoy that meal once again and the rest of the turkey will be packaged up, sealed and frozen for another time.
Time for my soup. Will CBL

(((Judy))) again I can relate. You want it one and done and I can't say as I blame you. Men think differently.....and their plans always have a way of slowing down the process! Taking a day off from it all is just what Dr. Ann orders

Hi All ~
I am back from walking and packaged up my veggie/bean soup with one for the fridge and one for the freezer downstairs. I also weighed out two7 oz containers of turkey dark meat most likely to be used in casseroles. I brought in the stock pot with the turkey carcass in it and it is simmering right now with an onion and some carrots. I am thinking when I strain it, I will add egg noodles and package it up. Since we didnāt āroastā the precooked turkey on Thursday, I have put the rest of the white meat (quite a lot) in a foil-lined pan and tented it and will slow roast it a bit before we eat supper. We are planning to have leftover Thanksgiving dinner tonight and then package up and freeze whatās left over. I look forward to getting out of the kitchen ļ Pumpkin pie tonight!!
I went for a great walk, though my legs were fatigued, most likely from all the up ān down stairs yesterday decorating. But the sun was very welcome since we hadnāt seen it for a couple of days. Also it felt warmer though it was only 41 dg. I was glad I went (as always).
Ann ~ Glad you are getting to enjoy a relaxing day. Your advice to Judy is so right on!
Judy ~ Sometimes when my DH and I are at polar odds, we realize later that the truth was somewhere in the middle. While youād rather let the builder do his thing, perhaps a bit of direction from the customer is in order. OTOH your DH is accustomed to overseeing big jobs and may be giving too much importance to some small things. Just donāt let it become a bone of contention between you two. Remember, it is only a house!! Itās not flesh & blood, doesnāt have feelings, and wonāt love you back. I have been enjoying hearing you talk about it because youāve never had a brand new house. I havenāt either, but am living it vicariously through your experience. Donāt forget to enjoy the ride! BTW, I always without fail find that walking is the best medicine. Just this week I had a case of the blues and a walk helped considerably. Then when I told my PCP he said that was exactly what he would have prescribed. {{HUGS}}
Pam ~ I do hope youāre enjoying your Craft Day. My VBF was telling me about making Christmas tree ornaments with her DGK who were over for the weekend. I am familiar with that one because I have helped the kids in her K class make them in years past. The youngest (3) told her very seriously that āpaint is not supposed to be put on your handā, so she let him just do it his way LOL.
I have gotten a lot of work done in the kitchen and cleaned up as I went along. We wonāt eat supper for a couple of hours yet so I have time to get into my book for a while. Wishing you all a wonderful Saturday evening!!

I am so enjoying a quiet laid back day. I may walk later with Carl and LuLa however it will be a short jaunt if any. I feel a little guilty as it's such a beautiful day....and the flip side wants to play games on my phone and read. We shall see who wins lol.
We are also going to enjoy a piece of pumpkin pie, Sue.
Listening to Neil Diamond singing Christmas music. Always liked the sound of his voice.
Judy I hope the walk helped.

Hi all,
You guys are the best! Sue, your advice is so on the mark. Iāve calmed down and he tried to be extra nice. He also said that he doesnāt feel it will be that big a deal. Heās going to have the builder check into it and if too much is involved, heāll forget about it. You are so right that itās just a house and even if it is a delay, itās just a short one. I need to calm down too. I did take a walk with the dogs and then we both tackle the basement which was another treasure trove of items from days gone by. DH had the idea to put big blue strips of tape on everything that we want to keep. Send a clean out crew will just take everything else. I did add one big box of Christmas decorations to the stuff to be hauled out. And, extra small appliances, more glasses, tools, all kinds of bake and cookware that we donāt want. We found a wonderful supply a very old books, some of which were my Uncle Jimmyās From the early 1900s. More later and thanks again

So happy you and DH are on the same page and tackling more stuff to clear out. Great idea to mark it.
Time to sit and read. Have the lights lit along with the tree. Alexa is keeping us entertained with Christmas music.
Sweet dreams.

Good evening friends!
We had a wonderful time crafting and laughing today. The girls arrived at 10:30 and left a little after 5:00 pm. I will email a pic of our efforts. DH jokingly decorated a lemon peel and insisted it be in the picture, too, lol. After we finished, I vacuumed up glitter and sequins while the DDs took the extra leaves out of the table and packed up their stuff. It was a really nice day.
Now, the silence in the house is deafening. DH and I laughed that DD2, who is mostly at home alone in her apartment can only take so much of the younger girls' noise, squealing, arguing, etc. before she starts to crack. DD1 said, "Girls! You have to remember Rae Rae doesn't have kids. Take it down a notch!" So funny!
I got the potato salad made and DH finished the bbq ribs and squash, so it is time to dig in. I plan to read and enjoy the quiet this evening. DH is ready to watch LSU football which doesn't interest me much, since they are playing so badly this season. It's too painful to watch sometimes.
Judy - I understand your frustration. The time for changes in the house plan was BEFORE it all got approved. I hope your builder doesn't get fed up and quit. It's good that DH has backed off a bit and agreed to let it go if it's going to cause a delay. Like you, I pick my battles and usually when DH sees how upset I am, he comes around. But if I try to fight him, he just digs in his heels. So Ann had great advice, as usual.
Ann - Congrats on paying off the car loan!!! What a wonderful feeling! We are not too far from it ourselves. I didn't get the gumbo made as there was too much going on and pretty much every surface was covered with crafting stuff. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
Sue - You and your VBF proved where there is a will, there's a way. You got to spend time together, which is the important thing.
Time to chow down. Have a lovely evening!
