Lovely sunny day today. I wonder if we should go out for a drive BUT just remembered that nobody is to be on the road on the weekend SO will have to forego that till tomorrow, probably. We don't go out and about unless we need groceries or have a bill to pay BUT the battery on the car was just replaced - it died from lack of use - so do need to run it more often. The older car has had a dead battery for a month or more!
My husband is working on a waterproofing project and took one of my miniature dustpans to create a tool to assist him in the project. I think we may have to get a new one as he has been using it with cement.
We talked to our daughter last night and will talk to our son and his family tonight.
CHERRY: So sorry that the valance pocket was "off" and you have to redo it. Doesn't pinning help or is basting something like that in place a better option? I hope you got it done!
BEVERLY: I stopped BIG decorating when my friends stopped coming for Christmas lunch. I don't know if we will start again if/when we get together for a Christmas again...I may do something small in the room I read in at night.
LYNN: Sounds like you have utilized the leftovers in tasty ways. Glad you figured out what to do with the TV.
PAM: Hope you sleep well!

Good morning. Yes, I should have pinned or basted where I was stitching. It was the top seam of the pocket with no material turned under. The whole top of the valance had about 4 inches of material turned under and I stitched a seam across two inches between the top and the bottom which formed the pocket and left two inches above the pocket. I guess I was just thinking that I could just sew the material and didn't think about the possibility of the material shifting. It's been a long time since I've done any sewing and some of the details get lost. I used to make a lot of my clothes and clothes for the kids when they were young.
I'll probably work a little on that valance today and I have the bottom hem to sew on the curtains. Other than that, not much. There is a squash I'm going to roast for supper and I'm thinking about making a pot of soup for lunches. Today it is only supposed to be about 32, but it is sunny. Tomorrow should be about 41, then the rest of the week will be back down into the 30s. The river/lake is definitely frozen for the winter now. Soon it will be dotted with fish houses. The Game & Fish keep tabs on how thick the ice is and how soon people can go ice fishing.
It's coffee time. Have a nice day, beaches.

Morning friends,
Cooler & cloudy here today, they are calling for rain & much colder tomorrow.
We picked up Chinese food last night, this has begun to be our Sat night ritual. I just got the vegetables & rice. I was so tired of looking at turkey that I couldn't stand the thought of more meat. The portions are huge! We have plenty left over for dinner today. Tomorrow, I will make a pot of some kind of soup or chili. I haven't decided yet. Today I will do a bit of laundry & do a bit more decorating. I am trying to get finished with the decorating before I start wrapping gifts.
Hope everyone has a restful Sunday.

Hello!
I have laundry going and I just got out of the shower and will continue decorating little by little. Tonight we will have the turkey soup again and I will bring down to my big freezer the second container of it I have for another day.
It is sunny here and will be in the high 50's which is pretty unusual for November. I think I only wore my heavy coat once so far this year.
Nothing much else going on except I have to start wrapping soon and get a box out to my son in California.
Have a good one!
