Honestly, it's just "real" foods and no grains/starches lol. Luckily I like black coffee, too, so no sugar at breakfast.

DotRen, I have done keto and low carb and Atkins (original) and some 10 grams carb way back in the 70's and had success but find that being vegetarian/vegan makes it a lot harder...especially without seitan or vital wheat gluten or protein powders to assist. When meat and cheese and such were cheap and I was eating meat it was easier...I admire you for finding out what your body thrives on and then sticking with it and making it work for you!

cathygeha , physically, I have so much less inflammation when I do keto. I can slide my sneakers on in the morning without unlacing them lol. I have the old Atkins 1972 book, before we had so many "products" available, and I read if for recipes now and then. It's kind of like the original WW plan: very strict but workable

Again...love that you found what works for you. For decades I have believed that as we are each different we each have to find THE way to eat/live that works for us as individuals. One can "average" things and put it out there for the masses but the masses and the average will NOT be specific for any one of us.
I loved doing low-car counting carbs for my tortilla and filling it with sour cream, beef, cheese and little else LONG ago but after so many years doing something else since 1975 and kind of going vegetarian it wouldn't be easy to change. Also...living in Lebanon kind of puts a crimp on a lot of things right now with the economy, what is available and what is affordable.
So...I am doing an OLD version of WW and so far...so good.
AND...that OLD burrito does bring back good memories.
You don't remain in ketosis 24/7 do you?

DebDoesWW, I used to get huge cravings for "sweets" and if I didn't have them in the house I would grab peanut butter and brown sugar and make a bowl to eat...maybe adding in butter, too. Funny...haven't had a craving like that for sugar in a LONG time....maybe since the pandemic started? I do have a craving for carbs in wine-form from time to time but again, if it is not in the house it is hard to come up with an alternative.
Baguettes in Lebanon are to die for...as are most French pastries...not so much for all things American or Vegan or whatever.
Give me a pile of mashed potatoes and gravy and I am gone, though!

cathygeha, I keep my ketones under 2.5 (on a keto-mojo blood monitor), if I go higher than that I feel nausious and headachy.
