A bit busy today but that was expected returning from holiday. I've been stuck at my desk since early morning so I'll need to get movement in at home later. It was warm when I left the house but when I stepped outside at lunchtime it was cold brrr and the wind was whipping. SC weather geez. The cold front is here for the week looks like. All meals are planned for the day and will be within my point range. Audrey, I'm happy to say all my LO's are out of the house. Most was sent home wit DBIL - we've had turkey all weekend but threw a little out last night. The meal I was to prepare yesterday will be tonight. Sunday got away from me and I went shopping a little. So sorry for your loss. Ann, hope you find some great recipes for your LO turkey. I bought another one at Foodlion over the weekend as it was only .29 cents a lb. I'll cook it after I get over the one we just had LOL. I really do like turkey and its so pt friendly. The family likes it, too. I most imagine I'll house walk as well as it is too cold for me out. Becky, yes mam get that heater ready! Cathy, It was a long time before we had restaurant food but we finally caved and its been fine so far. I know it makes you happy to be able to connect with your family online since you are so far away. June, hugs and prayers for your friend. definitely the definition of unimaginable. So happy you were persistent and got the items to your sweet mom. Bee, glad all is well in Beeville again this week Hugs and prayers. Susi, sounds like you have a great handle on Lily...so excited for you. The lobster sounds so good!

Good afternoon, all!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid...
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
Rainy day here and it's supposed to get a bit wild before it's over. I'm glad that we weren't driving on interstates today.
We're doing all those CinderElla/Fella chores that are the end-of-retreat usual stuff - laundry, sorting out mail, sorting out all those holiday ads that arrived. And of course, all that stuff in the suitcases had homes here in the house before we packed... must find those spots again and get the luggage put away until next time.
We did need a grocery run, for produce and bread and a rotisserie chicken for dinner. I don't have a menu plan for the week and that's something that I need to get back to doing. "What happens at Woodloch stays at Woodloch" food-wise (and with great appreciation and no regrets) but what happened at Cedar Crest food-wise has been hanging around too long. The less-than-healthy eating habits of the Russπ©Mess must be permanently put away.
So we're moving slowly but happily as we end November and begin Advent and then December.
At any time of day, coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... here's to US as November comes to an end... <mug held high>...
πππππππππππππππππ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! πππππππππππππππππ

susiq25679 This is the tale of two restaurants, Quince in SF and Trelio in Clovis, a suburb next to Fresno. We went to Quince before it was a three star Michelin Restaurant. It was in a nondescript area of SF and so affordable, we even took our three children. It was being discovered as a hidden gem because the Coen Brothers who have produced many movies were sitting at the table next to us. Then it moved to the SF financial district and chef Michael Tusk began to get many awards. We ate there once a year without children and the last time we were there was to celebrate our 45th anniversary. The dinner was the price of a piece of furniture but we had seen people like Senator Feinstein and her husband Gerald Blum dining there. Can't keep up with the millionaires so we will probably never go again but the adjacent sister restaurant Cotogna is more like the Annex Kitchen in Fresno in price and style. Clovis, CA thinks of itself as a cowboy town with an annual rodeo and big hat days. Chris and Mike Shackelford co-owned Trelio. Mike was the chef and Chris was the sommelier. Mike married Michele and they had children. He needed benefits and a steady income so now he is the executive chef of San Joaquin Terraces, assisted living and skilled nursing care. Aren't those people and their families lucky? Chris took over Trelio and tried different types of menus. When the pandemic began he focused on Italian food because it is easy for takeout. His cacio y pepe is TDF. It still is in Clovis where people will not pay the price of a piece of furniture for a meal and pasta first courses are under $20. He is cautious about pricing his main courses too even though he uses the finest ingredients. The pandemic has enabled him to use his talents so this weekend he made a special dinner for two each night for 3 nights in addition to his takeout. He limited it to 10 meals per night. He expanded his desserts beyond the usual chocolate lava cake, cheesecake and bread pudding. He now makes gelatos and sorbets and other desserts. His father is the chief financial officer of the business and has helped his sons stay afloat through good and bad times. We have not been to SF since it has been overrun with homeless panhandlers and gotten filthy.

Cathy Good goals. I am sure your granddaughters are just at that age now when other things hold their attention. Pizza does sound good. We rarely eat in restaurants either since March.
June It was really chilly feeling in the house this morning. It was in the upper 50's in the house most of the day and has finally gotten up to 63 and toasty in here now. Our low was 37 and the high has been 54 and windy but at least the sun has been out. I keep getting freeze warning alerts on my phone. I'm pretty sure that's a TX thing only since we don't have freezing temps as much as other states. I did find everything I needed in HEB. I'm sure your Gradebook Ultra will do just fine.
Ann Glad you have nothing pressing so you don't have to go out in the rain.
Susi LOL on Lily not being a morning person. Scooter has gotten to where she wakes one of us no matter what time of morning it is even if it takes barking at 2:00 in the morning.I have a Kong toy for Scooter I put her treats and she is so funny bouncing it on the floor trying to get them out. Sounds like Lily is really settling in.
Bee I hope you can get warm this week. We must be having the same weather. Continued prayers for strength.

Audrey I won't walk when we are in the 30's. It was 52 here this afternoon when I walked and the north wind was so strong and cold I did make it a mile but I was cold. I don't have a heavy coat but I had a pullover sweater and my light jacket on with a hoodie. I won't walk in the morning when it gets down to freezing. I'm a whimp when it comes to walking when it's that cold.
LaDonna Try to stay warm. We got our first cold front overnight and it's supposed to freeze in the morning and now they are saying more cold wind is pushing in Wednesday. I don't mind being outside if the wind isn't so cold but it's harder to walk outside especially against the wind. We have an old Dearborn heater that is run by propane and we only use it when it gets really cold. We use the electric heater most of the time.
MJ I hope you had a productive day and I hope there isn't too much Russ stuff to tend to.

Stay warm borntexan, sounds like our weather is very similar. Like you, I do not mind the cold but the wind is not something I care to be in esp. when it is freezing cold.

Our weather all week will be low 60βs to 63 and high 30βs at night Becky, I try to walk fast and steadily so by the time Iβm at the last block or two I remove my scarf and gloves. Costco had some thing like cuddle duds for six dollars each before we went to Europe in the winter time so I have two tops and leggings to wear under my clothes and they keep me extremely warm but I havenβt even needed them in the morning cold.
