On of my FB friends had a post "Do you think the people who voted for Biden realize they've been lied to?"
Lies??? OMG it was so ironic because DT opens his mouth and it's all lies! And responses like "no, they're too stupid to see it"....
uh. I hate to quote the Bible on things like this but...
Jeremiah 5:21 (King James version): "Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not." : : "There are none so blind as those who will not see. The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know."

DotRen, that is an excellent quote! So true too. Thank you for posting it.
There are so many good quotes in that book that can be used as road maps for unity and peace.
There are also some that can be used for division, unrest, war, and chaos.
The choice is up to us.
Thanks again for posting it. 🕊
You posted it's from chapter 5 verse 21. Could you tell me which book it comes from?
Thank you. 🕊

Sorry, edited to add: Jeremiah But, it appears it's not specifically that book- it's been changed over the centuries and added to:
: : "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996). Mr. Titelman agrees that this saying has its roots in the Bible, specifically Jer. 5:21 (King James version): "Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not."
: : "There are none so blind as those who will not see. The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know. The proverb has been traced back in English to 1546 (John Heywood), and resembles the Biblical verse quoted (above). In 1738, it was used by Jonathan Swift in his 'Polite Conversation,' and is first attested in the United States in the 1713 'Works of Thomas Chalkley'..."

hate is more powerful than love. Look around the world and tell me I'm wrong. I can't do that, but I choose to believe one good person can counteract 10 hateful ones. I may be the delusional one. It is tough to combat demagogues who tap into people's fears. After typing that word, I was moved to look up the actual definition. I give you the Oxford definition followed by the Wiki one. "A political leader who seeks support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument." A more modern take, no doubt inspired by you-know-who: "A leader who gains popularity by exploiting emotions, prejudice, hatred and ignorance to arouse the common people against elites, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation."

Lani, at one time I thought and felt the same way you do. It's refreshing and encouraging to know there are still people out there who feel hopeful.
If there are more like you and less like me, I believe we will be ok. Better than ok.lol.
President Obama was correct when he said, "keep hope alive!" Or, something like that. Lol. Or, was that MLK JR? Or, was he quoting MLK JR? Yeah, that was MLK JR.
I do get bogged down in the details sometimes. Ugh. 🤔

Been reading the news, big mistake. The Republicans are going to fight this until the bitter end. January 6th will be an exciting day. That is the day the Congress counts and accepts the electors. I've seen new stories that Republicans are going to fight it accepting the electors in Congress. In Pennsylvania they are fighting to overturn the election in their legislature.

Lani, your positive attitude as well as others who see the glass half full, actually do give me hope. A little bit of hope is better than none at all. Lol. And yes, I've been around for awhile. The desk I sat at in elementary school actually had ink wells. We never used them but they were there. Imagine? Lol. Bbbear, they are a desperate, disgraceful, delusional, bunch of deplorables. They're not GOP republicans. They're a loyal and dangerous cult. I warned people about this year's ago and was told that could never happen here. Not here. Not in America. Oh, okay then. Sigh.

This is a scary time. Biden won, fairly and in every way possible. If DT manages to toss out the results, there will be no stopping him or the rabid people in his base (not all of them, but there are some awfully scary comments and threats being made).

It doesn't have to be all of them. Some of them can do a considerable amount of harm.
He's not a real politician. He's a tv hack who is getting great ratings now.
It's all about him, not about the country. It troubles me that he has so many loyal supporters that obviously agree with all his hate and crazy talk.
He doesn't ever have anything good to say about anybody except himself.
He's not going away. He needs to be in the spotlight. He's a dangerous beast. I believe he would start a war just to stick it to Biden and the Dems.
He's a national disgrace.

Ugh -another super spreader .. look at all the people he's been around this week without a mask on. Rudy Giuliani tests positive for coronavirus, Trump saysOf course it could be another fake covid to just tell people it's nothing to worry about (more and more I really think DT didn't have it). Another toss at Biden saying wear masks.

DotRen, I was just coming here to post that (about Rudy). I do think Trump and the rest actually had/have the virus. But they come though it unscathed because they all have access to treatments that regular people cannot get. Christie is the only one who admitted having a tough time, and he acknowledged he received special treatment. Melania also acknowledged that she got treatment that very few others could have.

The people attending these rallies do not have to go. They do not have to be there.
They have to know the risks. If they don't know by now where have they been?
Even if they think they are strong like bull, they are putting family members, younger and older at risk.
How important are these rallies? More important than the lives of their loved ones? 🤔

I have seen speculation that what Trump really wants is to change the electoral vote so that Biden will not have the same number Trump had in 2016. He doesn't really think he is going to overturn the result, just wants one state at least to turn their votes to him.
