OK the first post is the panel quilt, already hung where I figured she would hang it!! Looks nice there. The second one is my feet, thankfully in socks, and my little Sweet Tea, sitting looking at me. With her grey coloring she sort of blends in. Interesting night with her and she is gaining confidence in where she is and that I am ok. I would not call her friendly yet, but am working on that. Pretty funny to hear her playing with her toys in the middle of the night while I am trying to sleep. And She does jump up on my bed to check me out and see if I am ok. Tonight I will try to put some treats out if she comes near me. Bribery is a strong motivator! Ha ha ha G

Well the links work so no problem. Your panel quilt is very beautiful! And what a pretty little kitty! Speaking of pet noises in the night, one time I went to visit my aunt who had young children and I was given the daughter's room to sleep on. She had a hamster. It ran on it's noisey wheel all night. Another time I was staying at my ds' home and the bedroom I used did close properly so to keep the cat out I had to put my suitcase in front of the door. DD's cat, when I stayed there would always come in very early in the morning and get right in my face
I never did weave in the ends last evening. Instead I looked at crochet videos and worked on that amoung us character. I did get the parts done and need to sew those on. Luckily it's only two parts.
It's warm here again today. 4 years ago on this day the high for the day was zero. I like this much better

Hey Ruth, glad you got to work some on the Among us character. Did you find anything interesting in a crochet video?? Are you looking for a new project to take on?
Think I am going to wrap a few presents this evening- then go into my room to read, watch TV or crochet. My new little friend does not approach me yet, but will sit on the night stand watching the birds...and does not seem to worried that I am there. Hope that this weekend I can let her roam the house a bit. All in due time, I suppose.
Off to load the dishes...then wrap a bit. Ginny

Hello Crafters Phyl - I'm sorry for your loss, it's such a terrible time to lose a relative. You're right about falls leading to serious issues, I've heard of so many people who passed away after a fall. Ginny - Your new kitty is so cute, thanks for sharing a picture with us - and I love her name Your Christmas panel quilt is really pretty too, I'm glad your DD loved it and has it hung already. Ruth - Hope you were able to finish up that project today and that you are enjoying the milder weather. Sue - Hope things are going well for you. It was a bit milder here today, maybe in the high 40s. We're supposed to get back in the 50s this week. I worked on my Christmas cards today and have all the envelopes addressed and all the cards written in. Tomorrow I'll put on return address labels, stamps, and put together the ones for family. There are a few that I'd really like to mail in a priority flat rate envelope, but I don't want to go to the post office, so I'll figure something else out. I have mailing envelopes and I'll go on the USPS website and see about postage. I'll be glad to get all those mailed, they stress me out each year. I finished making the other Christmas tree quilt block (picture below). This one finishes about 18x18, so it's a nice small wall hanging size. I loved the red fabric and the green went with it really well. These were both fat quarters that I had and used with the white. Now I have one other Christmas thing - a table runner that needs to be quilted - that I would love to finish before Christmas so hopefully I can. Even though I stopped making the Cozy Things quilt from Pat Sloan I've been saving the block patterns in case I wanted to make it later. I kept hoping she'd make another block that had a larger piece in it so I could use the focus fabric I'd planned on. Of course the last block pattern that came out today would be perfect - after I've put everything away But it has 8 half square triangles in the block and I was going to make 4-5 of these and I really hate trimming those up, so I'm not sure. I'll think about it. Take care everyone!

Ginny, your new kitty is just as cute as can be! I can see why you picked her! She is doing well in adjusting to her new life and environment. She'll warm up to you as time passes. TY for posting. More photos are welcome. Links are fine.
I am having trouble posting. My DGD had a malignant tumor inside her appendix. An appointment with the oncologist is pending. The classification and grade are concerning. The surgeon and her doctor had scheduled a MRI for mid January. Geographical distance and covid issues make it difficult to do anything other than be a good listener.
We got our flu shots today. My left arm is feeling a bit on the tender side. The nurse practitioner was excellent. It did feel strange to wear masks in our living room. She also had a face shield.

Good morning, Sue, I am so very sorry to learn about your DGD’s diagnosis. Of course the classification and grade really will impact how her treatment will progress. I cannot offer any advice to you - this must be horrible for you as well as your DD and DGD. I can pray for everyone, and the doctors who treat her also. If you are comfortable with it, would you mind sharing if this is the east coast DGD or west- and her initials? For now, try (although I am sure its hard) not to worry- all the worrying in the world will not help DGD and will make you sick. Focus on what you can fix and work on....perhaps you can make her a scarf while you are thinking/praying for DGD. Mid January is going to feel like an eternity to everyone- I know that so many medical facilities are very backed up from the original covid shut downs from the spring. Glad you got your flu shot and did not have to leave home to do that. Your arm might be sore for a day or so and a rare few feel a little bit achy the day or two after getting a flu shot.
CJ-Love the block!!!! Do you think you will end up making a wall hanging from it? Such a nice and easy way to decorate- gosh think about it, you could make 18 x 18 (or roughly that size) wall hangings and rotate them to change the decor. Like you needed any inspiration to quilt some more. Ha ha ha ha. Anyway, its really pretty and I like the bright fabrics you selected. Hope you can get to quilt the table runner- would you be doing that by hand or machine??? Isn’t that always the way, that the minute you put a project away, you need to take it out again for some reason. Honestly, finish it only if you are truly inspired to do so....and have plans for it or really just want to finish using up the fabric. Life is too short to work on a project that does not have a purpose or inspire.
So I read last night, and did get some gifts wrapped. This am I am hoping to trim the holly bush that Dh gave me many years ago.Its got a lot of berries this year and would make a lovely wreath to place on Dh’s grave. I am not into grave decorating.....but he is in a Veterans cemetery, as he served our nation in the Army years ago. Due to Covid, the normal Wreaths across America program will not be placing wreaths on each grave....I called and they were fine with me placing a wreath there. So I think that might be my crafting for the day.

Sue, when you mentioned something about the lymph nodes I was afraid that it would be more than just appendicitis.Yes waiting until January will definitely seem like an eternity. I know that all of you want to find out right now what is going on and what can be done about it. I, too, will be praying. How old is this grandaughter? Every time I see the ad for St Jude's I want to cry. Does your grandaughter live in an area where there is a major oncology center? There is so much that is now available to treat malignancies
In my state there are no Medicare plans that provide all the extras that are talked about in tv. It would be great to have someone come to our home to give us flu shots. We don't really have much contact with others though so are probably unlikely to get the flu but you never know about these things.
CJ, that block is truly beautiful as Ginny said. Yes it would make a fantastic wall hanging.
Well I did get the ends woven in on that last shawl then I sewed the parts on the among us character. I may have to do the visor over because my sewing on is far from good. I also made 3 mug rugs and a crochet star ornament. I started a pocket for one of the shawls that still needs them and found that I don't have enough yarn in the same color so will have to make them in a coordinating color. That one is the one made with homespun yarn and luckily I have one in dark green that should work
Yesterday was such a beautiful day. It got to almost 60. Today...not so good. High in 30's. Well that's better than high of zero so gotta count the blessings we receive.
Ginny, love the verse of scripture you have on your signature. It's so true and so appropriate for this time. If I had to make a wreath is would be a disaster. I'm not good at arranging flowers at all so arranging holly branches I'm sure wouldn't work for me either. There is a woman that was on the old WW board that was always making wreaths for her family cemetary plots and they were wonderful.

Hello Crafters Sue - I'm sorry to hear about your DGD's diagnosis and I hope the doctors will be able to treat to a full recovery. It is hard to be far apart from family when they aren't well - I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts. Ginny - I hope you can make a wreath to put on your DH's grave, that would be so nice since they aren't doing the normal wreaths this year. Ruth - Sounds like you are making progress on your projects. Sorry your warmer weather is over. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. I think it was up to about 50 degrees here today and sunny. I finished all my Christmas cards, so they are ready to mail. I'll just have some to take down to my DB's house before Christmas since he'll have some of his kids and grandkids there. It's always a relief to me when I finish these cards each year - sadly they bring me a lot of stress. I also finished the machine quilting on that table runner I mentioned and is ready for binding which I might just attach by machine. It looks just O.K., but I'm really not a machine quilter, it's just not my thing. I just need to make peace with myself that I enjoy making the quilt tops and not worry about finishing them. Now if I can just finish the hand quilting piece by the end of the year I'll be happy I have one other half completed project but I'm not sure if I'll work on it or not right now. Take care everyone.

Good evening, Ruth, I am pretty sure ( and Sue, please forgive me if I am not correct) that her two DD’s (and therefore, I am guessing DGD’s) live on the coasts- one in NYC and the other in California. Good locations for major oncology centers....and I pray that is the case. Glad you have a coordinating color to work with the shawl- homespun is really not a single color (unless they make it differently now) and its not a big deal to find a color that is entwined in the many different colors. You sure were busy making mug rugs and a crocheted ornament! Who are those intended as gifts for? And you weather is like a roller coaster....I cannot imagine how you get used to such regular wide range swings in temperature. Glad you had a 60 degree day. A very nice reprieve from temps in the 30’s
CJ- I am telling you- come on up here and do my Christmas cards now that you are done with yours!!! Ha ha ha . (Have not even started mine, but must begin soon, right?). As we know you stress over them, I am really glad that you are done with that. Does your Db live far from you? I am sure it will be nice to stop in to see him and his family and drop the cards. Glad to hear that you have finished machine quilting the table runner!! I know my machine quilting is not the best, but also know that we all tend to scrutinize our own work much more closely than others do, Bet that table runner looks beautiful. And yes, you do enjoy quilting and making quilt tops. Another person from my church likes the quilting part of making a quilt best. Guess we all have our likes and disklikes. Hope you can get some momentum back on the hand piecing work you have been doing.
Well they are now saying that mid next week, I might have a big snow storm. Interesting for sure...do not have much planned next week, so if that happens its ok. I did get the wreath made, made my own wreath form from grape vines, and then wired holly to it. Tomorrow will add a bow....no, it does not look professional but looks pretty good. I am happy enough with it- and well Dh used to like my home made wreaths so I figure this fits the bill ok.
DD#2 and DSIL #2 came over for dinner. Good to see them. Dd is pregnant with their first, and should find out in a few weeks if its a boy or a girl. Guess I will have to make another baby quilt!!!
Have a good night all G

Yes there should definitely be a really good oncology center on whichever coast Sue's grandaughter lives.
Ginny, congratulations of the new grandbaby. I keep seeing people in the crochet groups talking about family members having babies and already knowing if they are boy or girl even though it's early in the pregnancy. My dgd's baby is due in May and she doesn't know yet. Several people in the groups have grand or great grands or neices or nephews, etc that are due then and already know
CJ, I don't think you give yourself enough credit. I bet you're good at machine quilting and are, like almost all of us here, your own worst critic.I know I'm like that too but I know that most people who receive my crafted items never even recognize that there's a mistake or that it isn't professional looking.
Ginny, I bet your wreath is beautiful also. I've never made one and as I mentioned earlier, if I did it would be a disaster.
The homespun dark green that I mentioned is actually one of the very rare Homespuns that is one color. I ended up not needing it tough because I did have enough. I have the pockets done and ready to sew on and I started the pocket scarf for dh. The mug rugs and star are for the neighbors. I'm going to make mug cozies to go with them. I have two cups for them and a canister of hot chocolate mix to go with it. I'm giving them four each of the mug rugs and cozies even though there are only two cups.I guess I should have bought 4 cups but didn't so it is what it is as they say. I don't know if I'll get Christmas cards sent or not. I don't even have mine out. They're buried in with the Christmas decorations we don't use either.

Ginny - Your wreath sounds lovely, I'm sure it is a nice tribute to your DH. It seems that all your grandchildren are fairly close in age, that must make it nice for them when they can play together. How fun to have another baby quilt to make Hope you don't get too bad of a storm next week. Sorry, but I'm not going to do your cards Sometimes I wish no one would send them anymore, but there are time that I do enjoy hearing from people just once a year especially those that live far away. My DB lives about 40 minutes away from me, but I'm not going there when his family is there. I'll stop by a week or so before and give him and my DSIL their cards and the cards for the family that are coming to his house at Christmas. Several of them are flying in from out of state and I just don't feel safe going there because of the virus. Also, I'd hate if it I was a carrier without symptoms and made any of my family sick. So I'll be staying home at Christmas. Ruth - Those mug rugs and cozies sound like nice gifts - I'm sure they have lots of mugs that they can use them on and for

It's snowing this morning, but not much snow is expected.
I'm going to take a break for a while, but I'll be back at some point when I have some news. The time of year, waiting for appointments, finding out options will all take time, so like the bears and many other critters in our cold winters, I'm going to hibernate for a while. If or when things change or there's news, I'll let you know.

Sue, we will miss you and will be praying for you and your family. It snowed here too but not much. I may still be snowing. I'm not sure but dh made a nice fire in the woodstove so I can sit here in comfort and work on my crocheting
I think I mentioned that I finished the pockets on one shawl so will make the pockets for the other one today. I also made three more mug rugs... I don't know what I'm doing with them but may put them away to use as gifts for next year.I'llk make at least one more so that it's a set.I'll also work on dh's scarf

Sue, we will miss you for sure!! Please know that you and your family will be in my prayers. If you do have news - it’s ok to private message . Yes sometimes having to rehash what you are going through and feeling is just too painful. Praying for a good outcome!
CJ - don’t blame you for minimizing or attempting to minimize contact with extended family. We want you to stay safe- so we can all enjoy the holidays next year. And I totally agree with Ruth - you do a great job quilting... don’t be too hard on yourself
Ruth - glad you did not need more green yarn!! Based upon my DD, your Dgd should (via sonogram) be able to find out the baby’s gender now. At least with a due date in May you have a lot of time to figure out what Afghan to make.
Got to do some wrapping today.... Hopefully can craft tomorrow Ginny
