This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey.

April is here already.
Gary, the whole spying on Trump thing is mind boggling really. The opposition is doing everything possible to bring down this administration. But.....everyone is watching and hopefully soon the guilty parties will be exposed. There is a new report out today that Susan Rice may be one of those responsible....remember her? Benghazi was caused by a "video"? Also, McCabe, the FBI No. 2 guy, is coming to light. There is some kind of improper donations to his wife's senatorial campaign too.
GroovyGran...if you are talking about the GDT I know what you mean. I saw in the past the way any kind of opposition to their lockstep politics was dealt with. It is almost like "mean girls in middle school". I remember a couple of people that would try to voice an alternative opinion....but they were immediately stomped upon. It has been like that for many, many years. The biggest laugh on them was when some of them registered as republicans so they could vote FOR Trump in the primary because if he won the primary, there was NO WAY he would beat Hillary. Surprise! And after a while, the few that had been stomped on kind of made it their goal to stir the pot. It was kind of funny and predictable to watch. When Obama won (twice) I was very disappointed and quite a bit upset (especially when Romney didn't win....but I blame that on him not being aggressive enough to address the falsehoods from Obama and the press.....that last debate when the moderator chimed in really ruined it....she had NO RIGHT to do that, but nothing was said since she was an Obama fan). But I didn't carry on for MONTHS and cry and fight with family members that voted for Obama and didn't drop my friends. They were SO SURE Hillary was going to win....I guess the shock has not worn off. I wonder if people avoid them in real life because they don't want to deal with it.
Back to work. Lin

I believe Trump is learning fast how to deal with reasonable people on the right and on the left. He is a superior negotiator and I totally believe he will get Obamacare repealed and replaced with something much more reasonable than the last bill that was pulled by Ryan. I believe he will get most if not all of his agenda through Congress by negotiating with reasonable people from both sides of the aisle. The extremists on both sides will never be happy anyway so just ignore them as we do the liberal thread here.

My computer is acting funny and I don't mean funny Ha Ha. I have seen bits and pieces of the news. The liberal news media publishes negative information about the President every day they don't give him any credit for what he has accomplished in a short time. I think given time he will have a health bill that everyone can agree on, well probably not the liberals.
I hope they get busy and make a decision for Judge Gorsuch he is a good man and it would be a shame if he is not nominated to the Supreme Court. We have 2 Senators for California. One is Diane Feinstein and I heard them mention on the radio that she is 84 years old and wants to run for re election. She is 3 years older than I am and I think she should retire and put her feet up.

I am more hopefull about the health care deal. Again, I am not a purist, but we need to get those prices under control, and there is more to it than premiums. Greedy insurance/pharm has to be dealt with too. Not to mention overcharging at medical facilities. Oh and tort reform. There has to be a better balance to protect patients and doctors. Not to forget greedy ruthless lawyers. That should likely be top of the list.
Yes, please get the judge seated. I am selfish, I wanted Trump to do three things, Deep six Hillary, get a good (constitutional) judge and improve the economy. If he and the republicans get those things done, I have high hopes we can continue to win.

Oh I remember when some liberals registered as Republicans to vote for Trump thinking Hillary would mop the floor with him. I pointed out that he could pull it off and got laughed out of the thread. Complete smugness is what I faced. Then downright hate. Anyway, I have been concerned about Trump because I am only seeing what is being reported and I don't take much notice of the extreme right media because it seems like it is always "well now it will be proven..." and nothing ever comes of it. I can't voice my concerns on fb because I end up getting lectured my family but I really need to see and hear all sides. I can say this for 100% certain. While I am not convinced Trump is getting the job done, I am convinced he is better than Hillary. I voted really based on the Supreme Court this time around. It helps to hear people talk it out and makes me feel better about Trump.

I think the best way I can state it is: I didn't know what Trump would do, or not do all I have is hope. I knew exactly what HC would do, and I just couldn't let my vote or lack of vote giver her that chance.

I am watching the Susan Rice development with great interest because as more and more facts are revealed the more Trump's tweet about being surveilled for political purposes is being established. The wheels of justice move very slowly but they do move. I can hardly wait to see where this ends up, but I'll bet 10 to 1 that Obama ordered or authorized Susan Rice to unmask the Trump team's names and leak them to the press for political gain. The huge surprise was that Trump won the election and upset their applecart and the Russian conspiracy is slowly being debunked.
In the meantime, I had an exercise in frustration today. My refrigerator door handle is cracked and I called Whirlpool for service to replace it under my extended service plan. The door handles are not covered so I called another number to order a new door handle. It will cost $84 just for a new handle and I will have to replace it myself. I thought about buying service plans for my other Whirlpool appliances and thought better of it after today's experience. Buying service plans only to find out what is NOT covered discouraged me and the cost of the service plans would just about buy a replacement if any of my appliances ever fail. And, it occurred to me that the cost of the service plans would be about what I owe the church for tithing.

I really wish Sheppard Smith would go to a network more in line with his political leanings, like CNN. He puts his left-leaning slant to every newscast.

Gary, I just got a new refrigerator yesterday. It is a Maytag. It is replacing a Kenmore which I have had for about 20 years. It was still running when they took it away. My problem with it was that it was not cooling enough and we thought it was probably going to give up and I couldn't take a chance on it spoiling food. $84 is a lot for a door handle.
I am keeping an eye on he political situation and holding my breath.
Groovygrandma, we had 2 people to vote for and there was no way I was going to vote for Hillary.
Susie, I hope that they will be able to come up with a better health plan. My health plan has not changed much so I don't have any experience with Obama care. I get my health care with Kaiser which is very popular in Ca. I get excellent health care.
Have a great day.

I have not been able to stand shepherd smith since the Katrina interview where he tried his best to get a group of victims blame GWB for the problems of the Storm. They steadfastly refused, you could tell he was about to cry and wet his pants at the same time.

Meg...not to worry, I just read that your governor Brown is considering running for Senator. Isn't he raising taxes a bejillion dollars to repair the roads and stuff? I don't know how people can afford living there.....
I can't stand Sheppard Smith either. katrina did it for me too....except it was when he and Geraldo were stranded by that stadium and were screaming like little babies blaming the government for their dilemma (Bush, mind you, not the mayor of New Orleans....who did not even have that stadium prepared for any kind of disaster). Lost all respect for both of them. Geraldo did get payback though....can't remember how much longer after that Galveston was going to get hit with a hurricaine and there he was on roadway by the beach I think, doing his stand up and a small wave knocked him off his feet....there were firefighters/rescue teams right there so they scooped him up. I laughed really hard.
Mrs. Trump sure is one beautiful lady. I'm sure you've all seen the official photo of her. And the designer of the jacket she wore was getting all kinds of sh+t from liberals so he told them more or less to eff off. Good for him. And now that Michelle Obama no longer has her make-up artist and hair stylist on the payroll and travelling with her, she is now going au naturale. Did you know that Obama's personal barber from Chicago was flown to DC every two weeks to give him a haircut? He says he only charged Obama $21, the usual, but I wonder how much it costs for this guy to be brought there every two weeks for 8 years?
Can't believe that CNN is behind this drive to get advertisers to stop their ads on the O'Reilly factor (due to some re-hashing of old alleged harassment claims). CNN can't ever beat Fox on any ratings at any time, so instead they attack their on-air talent. I don't remember any kind of uproar when CNN decided to have disgraced Gov. Spitzer of NY become one of their commentators in the evening....they gave him is own show. Anyone remember how he had to resign because it was discovered he was paying hookers and using some kind of money he wasn't supposed to.....additionally, he was cheating on his wife. But CNN thought it was just fine to hire him? I swear, libs are nuts.
I, too, can't wait to see how this whole Rice thing shakes out. She actually admitted she did it....but not for "political reasons". Yeah, right.

Lin, I understand that Gov. Brown wants to make California a sanctuary state. The Legislator is going to vote on it and Brown will sign it into law. Believe me I would leave California if I could but my DD is developmentally disabled and she would be difficult to move. I live in a Democrat state and I have 2 democratic senators and my congressman is also a democrat so I don't have anyone to represent me.
I usually don't watch TV about the time that Sheppard Smith is in the air and if he does come on I turn him off. I haven't watched CNN in years.
It is time for me to go to bed I have a busy day tomorrow.

President Trump just authorized launching of Tomahawk missiles on at least one, possibly two air bases in Syria. Trump is NO Obama. When red lines are crossed Trump acts! Ya-hooo!!!

I turned on just before 7 p.m. and was surprised to see Sheppard Smith on instead of Tucker. I was also surprised that the US had hit an air base in Syria. I have listened to the news most of the evening. I was thinking if Obama had dealt with the Syrian situation when they crossed his red line a lot of what has happened in the last 7 years would not have happened. I will be watching to see how this unfolds in the coming days.
