Short and sweet goddesses is a thread especially for us "Short n' Petite Gals". As "Short n' Petites", we have our own issues. Our goals are lower, and as we all know, a 5-pound loss or gain can make a huge difference on a Short n' Petite. We are here to support and encourage one another, so please feel free to join us!

Don't get all this message board thing---is this still sort of supervised by WW or just some volunteer persons who occasionally help us start a new month, etc.? So confusing.
Went to see Jean this morning before gym---she was not doing well at all---shallow breathing, barely enough air to talk, very weak, not eating. The "boys" met with hospice---no room available yet there---will wait until tomorrow night and then choose Nathan Adelson Hospice and transport---personally, if it were my mom I'd do that now---they are such a good place to be. Guess I don't trust this place as I think the care has been sort of minimal---not because they don't care---just understaffed. I did manage to get some brocolli cheddar cheese soup in Jean---and she told me it was good---nothing solid as swelling solids is hard. Dr. Came in and said the tumors in the lungs are multiplying since admission there---took a chest scan yesterday. Her tummy is distended but she said she is not in pain---miracle of miracles!
I helped the boys out--committed fraud by impersonating her and getting the ss# because they didn't have her card there---told her if I went to jail it was her fault and got her to smile.
BF went down there while I was there and we left together after 3 sometime. Came back and posted on C. Bridge as they wanted to let the lady friends know they still wanted her to have visitors---she can hear just fine and her brain remembers so it's good for her to see people and hear them talk to her.
Did my dance class and the super easy yoga---just had leftover halibut for dinner---wow, it's still so good. Will have it for lunch tomorrow as well. Going to get haircut after yoga so will be gone all afternoon.
Holly, I'm sorry the surgery was so frustrating! Hoping they can find you a sub for tomorrow night---know you get tired of the problems.
It was warmer here today as well, JoAnne---but predicted to get really cold by Friday so guess I will pick my green tomatoe and ripen indoors as the plants will probably finally freeze. No presents for and DGK's yet so kind of bummed I have so little time. Determined to keep the gym going tho.
Got tickets to go see Hamilton in San Fran on June 15 with DD---both DH and I. DH is clapping inside because he thinks it will keep us from having to go to NYC---well, I want to go there anyway!! Little does he know what he's in for!! LOL
Have cankor sores again---JoAnne could I need probiotics? Do you think if I had more it would help the flora in my gut and reduce these---I've just never had such a problem as the last six months or so. Always painful in my mouth.

It is run independently by a couple of volunteers I believe.

Hi - I'm here now too!
Joan - yes. Send me your email on FB private message. Since I'm retired, don't want to be practicing without a license! Cankor sores are an inherited gene. Did your parents have a problem?
Crazy that the site had to change. It looks like the same place just a different forum.

JoAnne, I think number of postings probably. Like do they think that motivates you to post more??? Weird.
My friend is now on morphine---went to say goodbye this morning---finally got the social worker motivated to get her out of the horrible room with the horrible roomate---believe it or not, the roomate who just came five days ago would not consent to being moved to another room to allow the family and friends privacy during Jean's last hours or days! OMG---ultimate selfishness! Now the social worker finally got it accomplished and she is in an actual hospice assigned room---did that before I left---headed out to haircut soon---just could not go to yoga as I was too emotionally upset.

Hi all,
Feeling much better now that the hydrocodone has worn off because it made me sick. I changed my bandage too. Planning to go back to work tomorrow.
Joan, I am glad that the social worker was able to get her in a private room! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Holly - soooooo sorry the pain med made you sick! How does the wound look? Healing ok?
Joan - I sent you an email.
Going to a movie tonight with DH. As usual he picks them out so I don't know what it is yet.
Haven't done much today except did talk to my best friend from high school who is having her 50th wedding anniversary. She now lives in Texas. we both dated guys from Ga. Tech when we were Jr. and Sr. in high school. She married her guy and is still married to him. I was her maid of honor in her wedding. We talked on the phone for about an hour. Wish I could see her.

JoJo, enjoy the movie. The wound is pretty scary looking right now with all the stitches taking up half my forehead, but thankfully I can cover it up with a bandage.

Hi!
I actually like this board better in terms of graphics and color.
Joan, your friend is so lucky to have you looking out for her, glad she has her own room. This must be so tough on you as well to see this happening. Why does your DH not want to go to NYC? Hope Jojo can help you with your canker sores.
Holly, glad you feel better, hopefully you will heal quickly. I am a slow healer, it takes forever for cut/burn scars to fade for me. I get cuts and burns often at school.
Jojo, funny, I'm always the one to pick out netflix DVD for me and SO. Do you think you can visit your friend in Texas sometime, especially since your DS and family are in Texas now?
Did my take home exam (easy), and studied for my charcuterie final. Went to the gym this morning - housekeeper day. I did pan fried breaded chicken breast today. Realized I ate the last egg for lunch this afternoon so substituted mayo/milk mixture for the egg wash. Worked out pretty well!

I like the colors on this board better, too---but did they just change again or am I losing it?
I hate that place Jean is in and am frustrated that they did not choose to transport her to an actual hospice---the place is a nightmare. So insensitive. So the room is across from a room with a psycho woman that is screaming all day and night. And they kept walking in today announcing---"lunch time" and in comes a tray, " PT time" and in comes a PT guy---OMG---they didn't inform the floor charge person that they assigned a hospice patient there---so it's right in with the other frantic crap. Her son just called me--it's been horrendous for him---Jean is out from morphine---please hope she doesn't live long as this is just terrible for family members! I tried to talk them into the other choice and I wish I'd have been more forceful but I'm not family---can only suggest and urge. Tried to get them to ask the right questions---hospice people don't take care of her here---I worried that this was the case---they just give the orders for the pain meds and you are left with this very incompetent place administering things!
Holly, I simply cannot tolerate that pain med---it makes me so much worse than it helps! Glad you are off it and feel better.
Sue do you ever use arnica---I've heard it's wonderful for bruise healing, etc.
JoAnne, am going to Walgreens to see if they can fix me up with what you suggested. Thank you.
Got my haircut---bright moment in my day as it's shorter and looks ever so much better I think.

I heard it was good, JoAnne---maybe I'll have to get DH to go---haven't been to a movie forever and we have a gift card!!
Jean's son asked me to come down and raise "h@#&" at the place last night (at 9 am was supposed to go) but honestly it got so bad he finally found his voice---just talked to him---he finally asked to see the hospital administrator and they are finally getting another move---OMG, this has been a nightmare---this place is a zoo---they came in bugging her with lunch and PT and he found out no one informed the floor that she is dying---the woman across the hall is psychotic and screaming all night and day and he's not allowed to shut her door because she has "rights". Whatever ever happened to the right to die in peace when you have been designated hospice! So I told him to give them one hour to get them moved and then go straight to the top---it took them 2 hours to bring morphine last night and she was in terrible pain---they made such a bad decision to stay there! I am exhausted from trying to get the right decisions made and not having authority to make them and then trying to fix the disaster---so glad he said I did not need to go down---I will after class if it's not taken care of.
Sorry ladies---I just am venting-=I am going to write some directives for DH and my care in case of these things---I never want anyone to fail to transport me to a caring environment whether at home or a real hospice facility--ever!
