WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C113D12, 13 purple points, 1204 calories, twice around mall with my friend, line dances, 15 minutes of PT exercises, 6779 steps.
My new thing is to do 15 minutes of PT exercises at 2 PM daily. It's easy to remember cuz that's when Janet leaves. If I don't have a set time it will never get done. Maybe I need to do the same with the upper body video - maybe at 6 PM. I should set my ipad alarm clock as a reminder.
Happy New Year BFFs.

No tracking yesterday but I got plenty of exercise. Lunch out was nice. I think every time Iโve eaten out recently, maybe 4 times, an employee has thanked us for coming. Restaurants are really hurting. We went to a local chain yesterday and they had added a patio area and drive through pickup window to accommodate Covid. www.skinnytaste.com/spinach-ricotta-quiche/Hereโs the quiche recipe. I omitted the crust and changed the servings to 4 for 274 calories, 5g carbs, and 24g protein. It is higher in fat but that can be adapted with less cheese, or even low fat cheese. Kathy, yay on the weight machine! As we lose weight we also lose some muscle, so strength training is important. I also love Siggiโs yogurt. The vanilla bean is delicious! Lori, wonderful on your pre-holiday weight! It really shows how important it is to get right back on track after a special occasion. Nancy, I love the idea of setting a time each day to do your PT. Happy New Year, friends. DH and I will be with our Covid friends tonight. He asked if we had to stay until midnight. Sometimes he really drives me crazy.

Jan - Haha. I remember those days. We'd get in the car on our way to some social event, and DH would ask when we could leave. Today 2 PM came and went but I did remember to do the PT about an hour later.
Kathy - The same to you. Hopefully half way thru 2021, things will start to get back to normal. Our newish weekend aide who is tall and on the thin side said she gained 40 lbs since covid started. I guess we've all done pretty well considering.

Lori - We're on the same wave length. I'm thinking things should get back to normal in about six months but the road will probably be even more rocky until then.
