lani, Thanks for the tip on the show. I'll see if I can watch it on the web site because don't get CNN.

Clueless GOPers are trying to lock down the Trump voters for themselves, regardless of the consequences, and people on Parler are posting advocating civil war and "freshening the tree of liberty". You know, with blood.
Actually, it's even worse than that, because these republican Congress people are NOT clueless, they know exactly what they are doing.
Have you noticed, folks have started saying "a democratic republic" rather than "a democracy" because democracy has become a bad word with the right.

I never thought, it never even crossed my mind, that we'd have our own government trying to overthrow the people of this country. Never. bbbearsmom, I truly hope he can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law at some point in time. Sooner rather than later, but I'm afraid his jack boot followers would become extremely violent and start a civil war. And he'd eat it up.

This is a link to an article that is a compilation of some of Steve Schmidt's tweets about Trump. It is about seven aspects of Trumpism. Steve Schmidt is one of the founding members of the Lincoln Project. He is a communications and public affairs strategist who has worked on several Republican campaigns, including John McCain's 2008 bid for the White House, and he is now a regular political contributor to MSNBC. www.maxnewstoday.com/post/the-seven-aspects-of-trumpism

I've always felt that there needs to be balance in the government. One party should not hold the senate, house and presidency. I'm feeling like, this year, I really hope the Democrats win Georgia because, frankly, I don't feel like the GOP can/will do their jobs to represent the people of this country. Overall, I don't like any politicians - they are all self-serving "in it for me" anymore - they don't know what their jobs are, much less what it actually means to represent "the people". But the GOP -their actions and commitment to Trump and not the people - just sickens and scares me.

birdgal, right- he did help the German economy before he started his reign of terror. But, he did some good, right? The families of 6 million Jewish people must take that into consideration, right?

*sigh* well I unfriended someone today on fb that I've known for 20 years. He kept posting mean, nasty political comments about Biden, people being "retarded" and "stupid", kept posting really bad cartoons of Harris and Biden - but the kicker today was a photo of Michelle Obama that captioned "if you want to do gender studies, start with "it"".
I mean, really, so much crossing the line in the comments, I tried to ignore them but he's been ramping up right along with DT.

It's not even that people are taking their masks off (not literally, I mean in terms of revealing their prejudices and just plain mean-spiritedness), but that there are so many of them.

I guess I'm as ready as I can be for "drama" day tomorrow. Was Skyping with my nephew in Costa Rica about tomorrow and he said: well it'll blow over in a few days. I'm thinking, no the Republicans will not change, and the Trumpers will surely not change. Then to add in I don't always think the Democrats do the right/best thing.
Good to see all the press about people calling out the "rebels" in the congress, especially when they are the other Republicans. One reason I subscribe to the Washington Post is for their fact check articles. I enjoy them and they soothe me but there are so many people that don't believe them.

bbbearsmom, want a laugh? The facebook people are rabid about "fact checking" -I mean, how dare they?!?! (another reason I unfriended a few: reality is not in their vocabularies).
