2/3 of the Senate. That's for impeachment. 25th Amendment you have to have the V.P. and a majority of the cabinet. Also, there are so many acting cabinet members, there is a question whether they would qualify to vote on this. Could be a reason McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao just resigned as Transportation Secretary. Although I think this is all posturing. There's not enough time to do either of these IMO.

Am concerned with how he'll behave over the next two weeks and on Inauguration Day. He was saying he might do a competing event at the time of the Inauguration. I'm also concerned what he'll do once he is out of office. There are some Republicans pulling away from Trump but there were still plenty that voted for denying electors which to me is trying to overturn democracy. Somebody said it is only a matter of time before the Republicans will change the story on what happened yesterday and say it was okay. Trump is doing it. He's saying it is understandable because the election was stolen. Good news: The Kansas City Star editorial board wrote an op-ed piece saying Senator Josh Hawley has blood on his hands from yesterday. As far as they are concerned while Trump is the first person responsible for what happened Hawley is the second person responsible. George Will called Hawley and Ted Cruz "the Constitution's most dangerous domestic enemies." www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/george-will-rips-ted-cruz-and-josh-hawleys-senate-gang-constitutions-most-dangerous-domestic-enemies/ar-BB1cuB1K?ocid=uxbndlbing

I've been reading the various news sources and I'm seeing "increasingly unstable; angry; in a rage; volatile; fragile; etc" from the insiders about his demeanor. Of course "remorse; guilt; sadness; contriteness" aren't part of any of that.

Only... the president hasn't condemned it, Kayleigh.

This is from a tweet:
It took 65 days, 63 court rejections, a 9-0 SCOTUS loss, a white supremacist insurrection on Capitol Hill that resulted in 4 deaths, 1 police officer death, 57 officers injured, 68 arrests, and at least 2 bombs—but it appears Trump has finally conceded the election

I wonder how many of his loyal insurgents are "shocked and dismayed" that he threw them under the bus in his speech to try and save his own ass. "We're" not shocked -at all. "We've" been trying to tell people who he is since he first threw his hat in the ring. "We" being everyone else that wasn't fooled by him.

DotRen, I think his lunatic fringe cult understands that he had to make his "concession" speech, and don't believe a word of it. He has always had a different tone depending on who the audience is. He was reading it like a marionette with someone else pulling the strings. So obviously done under duress. I could practically see him winking at the rioters. I saw on CNBC that Hawley's biggest donor (some auto parts sales company) pulled his money and endorsement.

lani, I've seen "it was an actor, not Trump" who gave the speech, on some feeds. Also "they drugged him" and other nonsense.

Today Linsey Graham flew home to South Carolina. When he got to the airport to safely get to his plane he had to be surrounded my policemen/security guards to protect him from a mob of right-wingers. They were saying: you know it was rigged. A woman said something like: this is going to go on for the rest of your life, forever, forever, forever. They were also calling him a traitor.
