This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! Hope everyone is enjoying their day. Is anyone making goals for January? I'm hoping to eat better and exercise each day. I also want to start posting more to be accountable, that has always helped me in the past. Have a great weekend

Happy New Year everyone! cj59 Great goal!
I have a goal of 1 # lost a week. And lots of action steps for that goal: Tracking, posting, exercising, wearing my Fitbit, etc. We shall see!
(Does anyone feel like a genie wearing a Fitbit or is that just me?) 🧞♀️

good morning Brenda. I really like using loseit.com I can track all my calories and set a goal 1 1/2 or 2 pounds a week. I just set 2 pounds a week. I eat 3 cups of black beans 660 6 medium red delicious apples 570 3/4 cup grapes 74 and 2 tums 20that my bone doctor prescribes. That is 1324 calories. and I get 104 calories from 1.5mph on treadmill for 40 minutes a day to reduce the calories to 1224. I think this is more realistic where fruit can up what the points say, They give you calories for fruit. I am going shopping for apples and 1 or 2 bags of green grapes. Scott in a few hours is buying me a bag of red delicious apples . I weighed 214.8 on my dr. scale with weights. I was in my clothing but not shoes. I don't like to track activity in WW I don't have a Fitbit so I can't count steps and they have no speeds of treadmill and I think that is a faulty thing about the activity tracker on WW. I can set my pace to track 1.5 and a total of 40 minutes a day for 1 mile and 104 calories t r3educe my 1324 to 1224. my treadmill will be paid off with the last payment in April. I paid off the scale already.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are enjoying your weekend irisinnia - Good luck with meeting your goals, I always think it helps to make some and then readjust if needed. sunrose - Hope you are doing well. DotRen - Enjoy your few days off from low-carb. amyrs - Sounds like you have a good food plan for yourself and also a plan for exercise, hope it works out for you. wwlurker - If you happen to check in, I'd love to hear how you are doing. I've been doing well with getting in some walking each day, sure wish I hadn't given that up and let myself get out of shape exercise-wise. But I know I can build my time back up again. I also put my Fitbit back on so I can be aware of my steps and moving around. I was hoping to start back on Momentum tomorrow, but I still have some higher calorie food I want to finish. I know I could throw it out, but it bothers me to waste food I do have food stocked up for healthier eating starting sometime in the next few days. Just hope I can get started and not come up with any excuses again. I'd like to try to lose 5 pounds a month if I can, but I'll be happy for whatever I do lose. Have a great day!

Good morning! Prepping chicken thighs today - I bought a huge pack so I'm pulling the skin off to air-fry (yes -keto/low-carb lol but also the air fryer really renders out the fat and leaves crispy skin "chips") ; bones will go into the instant pot for broth; prepping the meat for 2 meals this week and the extra for chicken salad.

Hello Everyone DotRen - Hope your chicken turned out well. It's nice to get several meals out of cooking one thing - I try to do that too. I've never had an air fryer but I know I wouldn't use it enough to justify getting it. Everyone who has one does seem to really like it. I've been walking each day and trying to get ready to lose some weight. I'm hoping that once I just start making changes they'll become habits again. Hope all of you are doing well.

cj59, I will sometimes save and freeze bones from chickens and steaks (raw) and make broth when I have a big baggie of them. It's easier to buy bone broth, but I like having control of the ingredients. The first 2 days of back on low-carb have gone well. I'm making my french press coffee in the mornings, it makes 2 big cups, so it's just right for me, and I'm not tempted to just keep popping in k-cups and drinking coffee all day. Once I wash the press, I only get a decaf later lol. Trying to break the habit of having 5-6 cups a day.
