WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Good morning. I turned my free day into a trip to Costco. I was almost out of cherry juice, and despite the busy-ness there on Saturdays, it was worth it for me to not have to go on a workday. I stopped at Walmart on the way home and picked up a few more things. I’ll be making both the quiche and the cheesecake either today or tomorrow.
I’m going to lunch with another friend today. We were supposed to go on Halloween to celebrate my birthday, but I was laid out flat on the couch with Covid. Since then, she’s celebrated her birthday and we’ve had Christmas. It will be nice to see her. I was helping her with her walk/running plan over the summer. We trained for our first marathon in 2012 together, but she fell off the proverbial wagon not long after and has struggled ever since.
I’m looking forward to getting back on plan tomorrow. I’ll go sugar free for at least the first week back, then play it by ear.
Nancy, A Time For Mercy is the book I was referring to. I listen to just about a book a week.
Kathy, you are correct, biking makes legs look wonderful!
Lori, nice plan yesterday. The intermittent fasting has been a lifesaver for me. It’s a great way to cut back on calories, even on pizza days.

C56. D2. I ate 37 points yesterday and am grateful that it was that low. I did get in a lot of exercise and my APs covered the extra points.
Jan - sounds like a pleasant time with a friend.
Nancy - you are getting in a lot of movement! Good for you in the heart of winter.
Lori - I'm just finishing up my bike time. I find I work up a good sweat on the bike.
Hi to all who follow.

My goal for the new year is to continue with my healthy eating and incorporate more exercise., especially since I’ll have a lot of free time in January and February. I’ll really be able to focus on getting in my arm routine 3x, Pilates 2x, walking and bike. Then we’ll see what March brings.....at least it will get me to the end of winter....
Nancy, It’s so great we’re finding ways to get in extra movement....Multitasking works great on the bike, no guilt spending too much time on internet...
Jan, I’m envious of your get together, Enjoy!! Since Christmas, DH wants me to limit gatherings for the next couple of weeks, to play it safe. I get it, but don’t like it.... thanks for the arm suggestion, I will increase to 3x. Any reason I shouldn’t grab the hand weights while pedaling?
Kathy, Improving a little each day, is Great!! Nice job with the exercise! So much I can do while pedaling.....

Jan - anxious to hear how you like the cheesecake and quiche. Do you have ramekins? If so, what is the diameter?

Lori - Can you please post your current mug cake recipe? The one that you bake in the oven. Yes I'm trying to move more as well.
