Today we will have leftovers...I will probably have a Mexican Bowl with brown rice, beans in tomato sauce, lettuce and ranch dressing. Looking forward to it! I have done 40 minutes of walking and a number of 3 exercises and still need to do some stretching. 2021 is getting off to a good start!
The package is from our daughter. She wanted to see how long it would take and if it wwould arrive. There is a reading journal with a place to record books and also do some decorative things so will save it for favorite books as I read them...kind of a journal of favorites. There are two inexpensive pair of earrings, some dish towels for Christmas (I might not wait to use them), ranch dressing mix, tea bags, evaporated milk, canned pumpkin puree, assorted tea bags, sink strainers, key rings, and a letter...there might have been moore but I have forgotten. It was very expensive BUT now that it has arrived she said that if I *need* something in the future there are boxes at USPS that are 20 dollars fixed price for 3 pounds of stuff that fits into the box and she would send that way. I am thinking about what I would have her send 
CHERRY: I am glad your daughter is on the mend and it was not (probably) covid-19. I hope you are enjoying the quiet days.
BEVERLY: How sad so many are dying  I am glad your grandson will help take down the Christmas stuff. I hope you can get the injection. We are on the list BUT no vaccine has reached Lebanon yet. My husband is 82 and I am 69 soon so hope I won't have to wait and am "old enough" ~ What new canner did you get?
LYNN: You stay safe, too! I am glad that the only big thing on your to-do list is the laundry!

Good morning. A thought just occurred to me, if your daughter sends a package by UPS, does Lebanon have UPS or would it come to your post office? I'm sure it is expensive to send a package overseas. I think $20 for 3 lbs. sounds reasonable.
I did my exercise on the treadmill yesterday plus some dancing. Today I will take Sunday off. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are arm and leg exercises plus I'm working on other strength training exercises. The other 4 days are for cardio (walking and dancing and the elliptical). I am determined to keep this up, as much as possible.
We didn't get any rain yesterday but it was warm enough to melt the little bit of snow on my deck that was there from the last snow we got, which wasn't much. It is supposed to be mostly sunny today and the temp around 45. There are a few clouds in the west, but the sunrise is pretty. Last evening the sunset was beautiful, very colorful.

Cherry, I think it was you who talked about the SF pancakes a few weeks ago? I made that recipe this morning. Very good. I mixed it up last night & let it sit in fridge overnight. Tasty. first time I've made that recipe in a long time. Usually, I just use a bit of whole wheat pancake mix & oatmeal. I used to also have a SF recipe that had Cream of Wheat in it?
My new caner is the Nesco electric. It holds 4 qts or 6 pts. The one that I already had only holds pts. I enjoy preserving food. My mom had 6 sisters & between the 7 of them, there was nothing that they couldn't cook or preserve. Now, I just do it for a hobby, then they did it to survive. This will help me pass the time & the canned food comes in very handy.
Our precious neighbor is still in ICU on ventilator. I heard from her DD last night & she says there is little change. They aren't allowed to see her, so there is nothing they can do, other than pray. On our little street, there are 8 houses, 6 of them are occupied by people who have been here 50+ yrs. The other 2 houses, 1 is a very elderly couple who bother no one, the 8th house is a known drug dealer!!! You go figure. Then down the hill & out of our little area, there is another well-know drug dealer. The 6 of us who have been here so long, stick pretty close together.
BIL SIL come home tomorrow. They will have to quarantine for 2 weeks, as they have been exposed to COVID in NY!!! The way it is raging here & they got exposed in NY. One of their GD"s friends was there Christmas Day, now she & her whole family are positive. BIL & SIL were tested & are negative, but they still have to quarantine when they arrive home. Our DS (who has already had COVID & is presumed to be immune for now), will pick them up at the airport.

It is dark and rainy here with a few snow flurries. We had a late breakfast and DH had to run a few errands.
Cathy, good work on the eating plan and so glad you were able to get a surprise package.
Bev, I hope your relatives remain unscathed with Covid...Letting your guard down for a minute can be catastrophic
Cherry, so glad the weather by you is pretty warm. Better than freezing!
Pam, waving hi!! and hope all is well!
Leftovers today for dinner. I made soup yesterday and we can have that again today...
