Talked to children and granddaughters yesterday - a quiet day of leftovers and reading. I did get in my exercise and am focused on reaching goal weight this year. Today we may finish up the leftovers and I will make a lentil-potato-spinach soup for dinner flavored with garlic and lemon juice.
CHERRY: The USPS sends to Libanpost (run by a Candian company) and there is tracking and paperwork and such. When first married most things were stolen or never arrived except for letters...magazines, presents, etc were just taken. It went through Customs in Beirut, a fee for VAT was determined then the box made its way to the nearby post office in Amioun where they contacted us to come pay and pick it up. If it is just a letter they often will deliver to our home where we have a mailbox outside the gate. I am with you on the exercise...need to refine what I am doing but so far so good!
BEVERLY: Your canner sounds like a lot of fun! I wouldn't trust it here with the iffy fluctuating electricity!!! I am sorry about your neighbor in ICU. Drug dealers in the neighborhood? Yikes! I hope you BIL & SIL do not get covid-19 and glad you don't have to pick them up from the airport!
LYNN: Errand runninig these days is like going out where predators lurk waiting to kill you...kind of tense worrying about covid-19 and where it might lurk waiting to pounce! I hope that your husband can get the errands finished before snow comes down in earnest.
PAM: Hope all is well with you and your family!

Good morning. It is sunny today with a temp of about 38, although there is supposed to be some wind in the afternoon. I go into town today for a blood test and to get my tooth finished up. Tomorrow I go to Minot for clinical studies.
Didn't do much yesterday, attended Mass on line, read some, and did a few of the usual household chores. My son called last night and we talked for over 2 hours. Then I watched a movie on TV. No exercise, as I take Sundays off.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Morning friends,
Sunshine today!
Just got a call from BIL, they are home. DS just dropping them off at their house. Glad they are home safely, I will drop off some milk & eggs for them later. I will just drop it on their porch. I am going to pick up my grocery order today & I ordered extra for them. They have plenty of food in the house, but after being gone for 3 weeks, they have nothing fresh. They have 2 freezers full of food & a large, well stocked pantry, so they will be fine for their quarantine. If they need anything else, we will take it to the porch. I no longer go into grocery stores, I just do the click orders. Place the order on the computer, they tell you what time to pick it up, you pull up, call them & tell them you are there, pop your trunk & they bring it out & put in your trunk. Couldn't be easier.
Yes, drugs are another problem here. Breaks my heart to see the young people throw their lives away for something so stupid.
As a veteran of the USPS, we always heard that Italy had the worst postal system in the world. We also knew that when something was mailed into Mexico, it usually never arrived. The postal workers there would empty out the packages before they got to the addressee. Each country has different things that they will accept into their country. Most countries will not accept meat products for instance. Muslim countries usually won't accept anything to do with Christianity, bibles, etc. They also won't allow any pictures of what they concern indecent, maybe even a picture of a lady wearing pants. We had a lot of trouble with these things during the Gulf War, and later on with Iraq. A soldier's wife or girlfriend would send a pic of herself & it would be returned to her, even if she were fully clothed. Later on, in Iraq, after the overthrow of the government, the soldiers were allowed to have whatever they wanted, bibles, pics, etc. on the US military bases.
Enough of my ramblings, have a great day everyone.

Hello all!!
I had another online class this morning about Lyft and Uber and how to work them. I have them set up on my phone in case of an emergency. I don't know if I will ever use them, but we will see.
The electric company was supposed to come and change my meters this morning and they haven't shown up yet. They were supposed to be here between 8 am and noon. We'll see if they come....I have to find the number of the contractor they hired to do the work...
Nothing much else going on today...so glad all are doing ok...
Have a wonderful day!
