WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C56. D3. Off plan a bit. Yoga + ice fishing 🙂 I had a 1 point hot cocoa last night, but added 10 large marshmallows (12 points), which took some effort- lol. So I blew through my blue dot 🔵. But it is tracked- 37 points for the day.
Nancy- looks like you stayed within the lines! Way to go.
Jan - new day. Fresh start!
Lori- it's Monday again. I've been trying to limit my Monday meetings and today only have two to attend, granted one is three hours long.
I'm working on closing down my in-laws lake place for winter (it's not ours, but we use it the most now). I'm dealing with all the food in the pantry, fridge and freezer.
I will not treat myself like a human garbage can. For ex. There were two pints of freezer burnt Halo ice cream. I started eating one, it was gross, so I threw both away. But I find myself 'testing' the opened boxes of crackers, chips etc... To see if they are still fresh or go into the chicken food pile.
I made a batch of brown rice and there are shrimp in the freezer. That will be my lunch. I have FF yogurt and fruit for breakfast.
Thanks for listening all. I appreciate the support I get here.

Yesterday, I made two different soups. Split pea and ham for DH and pounddropper fire roasted tomato basil soup for me. Plus took down/put away most of the Christmas decorations. We’re waiting for new tree storage bags to arrive so we kept the two trees up. I’ll enjoy them for another week.
Kathy, ice fishing sounds interesting....I like the hot cocoa part...lol It can’t be easy cleaning everything out..good for you for realizing ice cream “not worth it” sounds like your making two piles - what if you made three piles (kid approval pile), let them be the human garbage can - that’s DH’s job here (he’s also my taste tester)...lol Lunch and breakfast sound yummy, good choices!! I think the reason I’m finally be able to enjoy one treat is that I practice delayed gratification most of the time. I always have “my treat” at the end of my day - very rarely in the middle of the day (eliminates fighting urges to have more), it works for me....
Hope everyone has a Strong Monday!

Kathy - Sometimes your food choices are comical - like 10 marshmallows in the cocoa and tasting the crackers to see if they're fresh. I'm also aware of the garbage can symptom and often remind myself of it, especially when DH asks if I'd like the rest of his whatever he considers too large a portion. Give yourself credit for tracking though. That's often my dividing line as to whether or not to call it a binge.
Lori - I have all the ingredients for the cabbage soup, quiche and cheesecake. Now I just have to find the time to make them.
Jan - Hoping you got right back on plan today
