I honestly don't remember the last time I felt ill. I pulled a back muscle on Tuesday, picking up a package of toilet paper. Today, I Just feel bad all over.
Chicken noodle soup for lunch and an electric blanket are my remedies so far. Luckily it is not busy at work and I was able to come home an hour early.
No flu shot. I haven't ever gotten the flu except the year I had the flu shot.

Jan - hope you feel better soon!
When you don't feel good, do you have a comfort food you go to ? Mom used to fix us milk toast (buttered and salted white bread topped with heated milk) - now - maybe soup or pasta?
How do you baby yourself ? Laze about
Do you get a flu shot every year ? No

(((Jan))) Sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you get better quickly.
When you don't feel good, do you have a comfort food you go to? - Generally something warm - Something creamy is my 2nd go to
How do you baby yourself ? - Sit in the recliner or on the couch with a blanket (and usually a cat). Either use my phone or watch TV (or both)
Do you get a flu shot every year? - Yes, mostly because it's easier to get it than to keep explaining that I don't want it. - Don't remember ever having the flu. I just don't get that type of illness.

My mother used to make milk toast too, with homemade toasted bread. I don't have anything particular I eat, only what appeals to me.
I can't say I really baby myself, just lie down or sit back in my recliner and sleep or maybe read.
I usually do get a flu shot.

I am thankful that I don't get sick very often. When I do, depending on the circumstances, I'd sit/sleep, read if I can, whatever self-care is indicated for what is bothering me. Food would be whatever appeals at the time. I can't think of any specific items.
I do get a flu shot. I think I've been getting one regularly for 3 or 4 years now. I do work at a school (my doctor has reminded me that the children can be "little germ factories". And, my husband has some chronic conditions, medications he takes can lower his immune system function...seems the right thing to do in my case so that I stay well (hopefully).

Hello, I have been hit and miss this week. Just a very busy time. LOL
I am feeling under the weather today. So this will be short. When you don't feel good, do you have a comfort food you go to ? I like tomato soup and a roast beef sandwich from Arby's
How do you baby yourself ? curl up on the couch or my recliner and sleep it off.
Do you get a flu shot every year ?Always get a flu shot. this comes from teaching school and being around all those germs.
Have a blessed day. Karen

Sounds like I'm with many of you with curling up underneath a warm blanket and eating chicken noodle soup. I did have a flu shot.

It sounds like we are pretty good at self care. When I went home yesterday, I laid down under my electric blanket with Cinders joining me on the bed, slept from 430-630p, got up, fed Cinders dinner and laid back down on the couch with a heated lap throw and napped til 930p, when I posted the above and then went to bed.
Feeling much better today. Got up and walked and am at work. Drinking ginger tea.

No flu shots for me. I think I got one for a few years, but not for several years now... Haven't gotten the flu either...
I too prefer warm food for comfort... I dream of the mac & cheese I got as a child from the Automat (my mother never made mac & cheese), but I'll substitute whole wheat pasta and fat-free cheese with some GHG oil added to help the cheese melt. It isn't the same, but is enough of a substitute for me that I'm more than okay with it.
I'm willing to veg in front of the TV...

I have had a flu shot every year for about 20 yrs, & would you believe this was the first time that I have ever had a reaction? Broke out with a terrible rash that lasted about 3 weeks. Some meds have this effect on me, but this was the first time to react to flu shot. My favorite comfort food is hot chocolate. I also love mac & cheese. I made a ww recipe mac & cheese with broccoli the other day. I used whole wheat pasta & ff cheese. ff milk, only had to count pts for the 1/4 cup of flour in the recipe & dab of butter. Pretty good. I love vegging in my chair with a warm throw.
