Hi Everyone, I am going to try the new WW 0 pt noodles tonight. I'm on my own so good night to experiment
I've been given a couple of tips.
1) Rinse them very well in very hot water
2) if you use hot water there is no need to microwave them or actually cook them
3) They will not be as chewy or gummy if you don't microwave them. The cooking is what makes them chewy. Just heat up with hot water and put right into a warm sauce
4) Use a very flavorful sauce, because they have no taste and pick up the flavor of the sauce.
So, I'm guessing just some Oil and cheese with a bit of Italian seasoning is probably not enough. that's my favorite way to make pasta on a night alone.
Anyone have an easy recipe for an alfredo or cheese type sauce?
I figure I have points to use and since the noodles are 0, I'll use it on a good creamy cheese sauce. I love these and DH doesn't', likes plain old red sauce.
Any recipes, hints or other info would be greatly appreciated Thanks

let us know what you think! It is kind of nice to not have to cook for someone else! Nights like these I am happy with a spoonful of Peanut Butter!

sounds like the shiritaki noodles. I always liked those in soups or in Asian meals as opposed to italian, pasta-type meals.

They are currently being sold at the centers and some traveler locations. I have heard that they are good in Asian dishes.
I have skinny ones and fat fettucini type. It's cold, rainy and icky here. So I thought a bowl of pasta with a nice creamy sauce would be good.
We'll see what I can throw together. Especially without going to the store for any extra ingredients!

I haven't tried them. Those that have at our meeting had horrible reviews re: them.

Well, Here's my review YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sauce I made was great- butter, sour cream 1 egg yolk the whisk in parmesan cheese. I even measured out all the ingredients so I could put them into recipe builder. Never got that far
I warmed the noodles under hot water then put into hot cream sauce.
I just could not do the texture. They were extremely chewy but were also slimy. I actually threw them out. I ate a few forkfuls and then actually gagged. It was like eating worms. Just can NOT do it.
I love my pasta and I'm willing to take the points hit. They were on of the worst things I have ever had

Truthfully, I would have been surprised if you had given them a good review. They sound similar to shiritaki noodles, which most people hate.
I actually like them (shiritaki) but I use them in Asian lo mein. I was always in the minority when they would be discussed on the message boards.

Ughgh that sounds horrible Heather - Thank you for the update as I was curious about those noodles. My leader is saying members are buying them like crazy. I wonder how many make a subsequent purchase after trying it the first time

I saw them when I weighed in this month and thought about them for 2 seconds...I just really need to stay committed to small servings of real food and not go down the low point rabbit hole. Thanks for the verification.

Heather, I had a feeling that's what those noodles were. I was so grossed out by the ones you can buy in the store. It's like that old saying, if it sounds too good to be trueAnyway, You might want to try this. There is a brand of pasta called Al Dente. They make many different types of pasta but the one I buy is Carba Nada. I don't know what the points are on SP but I knew they were less pts on PP. It's an egg noodle. The NI is 170 calories (1 1/2 cups is a serving), fat 1.5, carbs 24, protein 15.

Thanks for the verification. You are so right about not going down the rabbit hole. I need to just focus on my portions and choices. What I really need to do is boost up my veggies and fruits.

Thank you for being brave enough to try them. I tried shiritaki once and couldn't get past the fishy smell.
