Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Thanks CJ for providing (again!!!) the directions on how to get images posted. You did a really good job explaining the process, and as I did not completely remember and did not write down the directions, well I forgot those last steps. Good to hear that you did not get much snow. Snow is pretty but a lot of work to clear and get rid of. Stay safe through this storm....and I hope you keep your power.
Ds took a vacation day for today, which is great so that he does not have to drive in the 12-20 inches of snow we are supposed to get (he has a long commute to work). they say its supposed to be a rough day here with a lot of snow. Hope I can keep my power.... I did get some crocheting in last night.
Last night I found some embroidery kits- they are small and should not take months for me to complete. I will be ordering them today for Christmas gifts (thinking of my buddy Jane). It is something she does not do- she does cross stitch but not embroidery. Her cross stitch work is so good - I am better off doing a craft that she does not do. And I am not a big fan of counted cross stitch.
See ya later. I might take a picture of the crazy kitten later just to reinforce that I can get a picture on here. G

Ginny - WooHoo - you posted your picture I'm glad I explained the instructions well enough for you. I think you really did a nice layout on this quilt. My eye does not rest anywhere, it just moves over the whole quilt so your fabric placement is good. I'd love to see a picture of Sweet Tea too Stay safe from the snow. We're still supposed to get some snow here through tomorrow, but we haven't had any today yet. There is a layer of ice over the snow we got yesterday, so I'm trying to motivate myself to at least clear my steps and sidewalk today. I always wonder if it's better to just leave it because once I clear it and it refreezes then there is a layer of ice again with snow on top which is dangerous. I hate making decisions Hope everyone is doing well today and you get to do some crafting. Take care

Ginny. I love seeing the larger picture and on here. Again I can't find the spot you were speaking of.I wouold have to really look like I did before 10-20 inches of snow is way too much. I hope your son can take more days off if he needs to.Congratulations on finding some kits that will get you a head start of Christmas gifts. I, too, hate giving someone something in the craft that they do themselves. Ebroidery is beautiful. I do know though that most people who knit, crochet, etc, don't usually make things for themselves
CJ, thank you so much for that link to the hats. I really like them and of course I had to go look at more of her patterns and found some to download and put on my list.If clearing your walk and stairs will result in an ice layer I'd leave it like it is esp since your mail carrier doesn't come up onto your porch. We dont' want you falling and breaking anything
Warm here and no snow except what's left over from last time. The wind, however, is horrible.
I got a few smaller things made for ddil. Spa set with two nice washcloths, 3 face scrubbies and a hanging basket to put them in.A star shaped hotpad so she has someing to put the hot dishes on. Then I started a really pretty hanging toilet paper holder which is no complete because I wanted to wait and see if a large roll of tp would fit or if I needed to keep going with a couple more rows. Then I pan on making a heat ketchain and a button cowl and I'll be done with hers. All I'll have to do is weave in ends on the girls things and sew on pocket and I'm done with theirs

I love the hanging dishcloth pattern! I think I would like using the pattern for something for a dishcloth, too.
Exciting news for today is that we have appointments for the vaccine on Wednesday.

Sue, congrats on having appointments for the vaccine on Wednesday!!!! So glad to hear that.
Ruth, thanks for posting those links- I really liked the hanging dishcloth pattern also- I do have some crochet cotton and might try to make that. Very pretty. Wow you have a lot of nice gifts made for DDIL- bet that star shaped hot pad is really pretty. I am sure you picked out great colors for her kitchen or a nice neutral that goes with anyones decor. Sorry about the high winds.... that can sure make for uncomfortable weather.
CJ- no it was not me, but your great directions that enabled me to post pictures. I chatted with my friend who lives in Gaithersburg, she said it was a slushy mess with some freezing rain. Think I would wait till tomorrow and clear it all up then- with that kind of weather. Hopefully the snow beneath keeps the ice on top from sticking too much. Did you get to craft at all today?
I started cleaning up and reorganizing my sewing room closet. Will finish tomorrow - so that might be my crafting for the day. Will post a picture of Sweet Tea tomorrow- she does not sit well so I will have to find one in which she is sitting and you can see her face. She does have a very pretty cat face- but her coloring is different. I think she is pretty- guess that is all that matters. Most schools closed for tomorrow already. We have at least 15 inches already and its supposed to snow more tonight. I am hoping and praying that Ds takes my car tomorrow, which has 4WD, when he goes to work. I have nothing to do tomorrow but keep straightening up and craft. I worry about his safety.
Got bible study in a few minutes. See ya later. G

Ginny, I'll be praying for your son's safety as he travels to and from work. I'm glad you figured out how to get the picture posted. CJ does give good instructions. I did use neutral colors for ddil's star shaped but because I didn't have in their colors.
Sue, it's good to see you again. I'm glad ;you can pre register and have already found that you can get the vaccine on Wed.

Well we got a good (and perhaps more) 20 inches of snow. 20 is what I heard on the news....honestly I think its more like 24. Got up this am with Ds to help him clear the additional 6 inches of snow that fell last night. He took my SUV to work and got there fine. the governor has declared this area a state of emergency- but as a peace officer, Ds is an “essential worker”. Just glad he got to work ok.
Not going much of anywhere today....I went back to bed to sleep another hour after getting up at 3:30 to help Ds get the car cleared off. Still a light snow out there and later on I will start the snow blower again and hopefully finish cleaning up after this storm.

Well, there she is, my silly Sweet Tea. Sorry about the upside down picture but she does not pose well for pictures and sleeps a lot of time on the climber I have for her where the lighting is not as good. With this picture you can at least see her funny coloring.....too bad you cannot see how silly she looks running around the house like the 14 month old kitten that she is. Thanks again, CJ for the good directions.

Not going to bore you with all these pictures of the silly kitten but she actually sort of posed for this one and the lighting was decent enough.
