Hello Everyone Ruth - Those are cute crochet projects, thanks for sharing the links and pictures with us. Sue - I hope things go well with your vaccination. Ginny - 20+ inches of snow!!! I'm so glad you have your DS there to help you and that he made it safely to work. Please be careful working in the snow, I know how easy it is to do too much. I love the picture of Sweet Tea on the rug, I bet she is a character, thanks for sharing the pictures with us. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. We had more snow here again last night and this morning, and it was more inches than the other day but it's a light powdery snow. I went out yesterday and cleared some on the steps and sidewalk and then went out this morning and cleared off the snow from overnight. I'm glad I had cleared yesterday since today was pretty easy. I'm expecting a delivery of heating oil and I want to make sure the truck can get up to my house. There is a lot of melting going on and it looks like tomorrow is sunny, so I'm sure it will melt more. I'll clear off the cars tomorrow, since I just left them so I didn't try to get too much done at once. I spent some time organizing fabrics in my sewing room today and it feels good to be done with that. I had things in pretty good order, but a few things were not in the right places. Also, I had been storing some of my color fabrics (those that read as a solid color and not a print) in a bag together and now I've put all of one color in each plastic storage bag alone. Then I put all my backing fabrics together (I like to buy the 108 inch wide fabric for quilt backings) and also backing and binding fabric I had for tops that are already done are now together and made a list of them. Sadly, I can't remember which fabric I was using for which quilt top on a few of them I also organized some fabric groupings I'd done over the years, these are like 2-3 fabrics that go together well and are ready for a project. Finally I pulled out all my panels and made a list of those. I have over 30 panels I really need to start using them. I joined a Facebook group that is all panel quilts, so I'm getting a lot of good ideas there. I just love some of these panel and really hope I can use them someday. I saw a new video from Fabric Cafe (3 Yard Quilts) today. She has a new book out and showed the quilts with some fabric combinations. Here's a link for anyone who'd like to watch it: www.youtube.com/watch?utm_source=Preferred+Customer+Club&utm_campaign=19d0220e8c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_06_27_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0ebb7b3da7-19d0220e8c-96833329&v=Ejv4NwYkIYE&feature=youtu.beI love the Crossroads pattern and fabrics and there are a couple other patterns I like too. Take care everyone!

Totally agree, CJ- the crossroads pattern is gorgeous. Simply amazing how she can do so much with such a small amount of fabric. I also liked the Oh My Stars pattern- thought that was very striking too and a quick veterans quilt if someone wanted to make one.
Still lightly snowing here...we had to have gotten 2 feet. Ds just came home- so he is well and the roads were ok. (Thank you Lord). And I forgot to mention yesterday that while I was straightening up my fabrics, I pulled all the fabrics I would like to use in my scrappy quilt. That quilt is on my list, I guess after the baby quilt for Dd. Oh yeah, I also have to quilt falling charms. Ha ha ha.
I did clear the driveway again- let the neighbor borrow my snowblower as we got so much snow. So I am a bit tired....looking forward to a quiet evening. Yes little Sweet Tea is quite a character. Absolutely NOT a calm and peaceful cat who sleeps on the couch waiting for you to pet her. Maybe someday she will be that way but right now she is very silly.

CJ, thanks for posting that link. My favorites were the last three, Crossroads, Oh My Stars and the Wandering something.
While you both are in snow...Ginny with two feet of it and CJ with light and fluffy snow, I enjoyed a 50 degree day today. We did have wind but not bad. It's Feb now so I wonder if we're going to get a lot of snow this winter. I do hope not but winter here goes until mid to end of May so you never know.
Ginny, I'm so glad your son decided to take your SUV and got to work and back home safely. Prayer of thanks has been sent.
CJ, yes I can relate to having projects that were set aside and when taken out again there are things we should have remembered about those UFO s but have been forgotten. I do try to put my projects into a very large bag with the pattern name, yarn being used, hook size, etc but I get lazy or think I'll remember so a lot have been forgotten. For instance all the baby blankets I have done that need borders...don't remember the sizes for any of them but one. I have a number of small things I've started and don't remember what pattern it was. I know I'm not alone and you aren't either because I see people on the crochet groups posting a UFO and asking if anyone recognizes what pattern it is so I bet people do that in quilting too.
Haven't done much today except a little cooking and some crocheting. I'm headed soon to the "winter quarters" for the evening and some crochet will be done.

Good morning!!
CJ- yes, its nice to have those backing fabrics in the 108 inch width. Up here, Hobby Lobby seems to have a nice (but small) assortment of them. Think its common among us quilters to get the components (backing, binding, quilt top fabrics) and then somehow misplace backing and binding...or forget what our intents were. My neighbor gave me some fabric- some of which is marked by her regarding her intended use. Glad you got your fabrics organized by intended use, and that should make your life easier when it comes to creating quilts. Do you plan on buying the new book from Fabric Cafe? I wonder if that crossroads pattern is available online by itself. What was your total snow amount? this storm just seemed to keep on coming....you kept getting snow also. Hope your oil delivery got to you just fine so you will be toasty warm for the cold weather heading for most of the US.
Ruth- that is a great idea to put a project into a bag marked with yarn, hook size and pattern.. I do remember in the past you having a hat which you were able to after some work, figure out what pattern it was. Have you started that star trivet for DDIL?? We can send some snow your way.....looks like more is headed here this weekend. glad to hear that you have some 50 degree weather.. Do you have a temperature criteria to start your wood burner??
Heading out for an errand this am, and i have to remember to mail a birthday card for my brother in law in Ohio.
BBL
Hi To Phyl and Sue- both of whom by now (if I remember correctly) have had their first covid vaccine. Reactions to especially the first shot are uncommon- but I hope that they are both feeling great. G

Well our weather is changing fast. It was just 43 degrees a few minutes ago but it's very overcast and it looks like it's snowing on the mountain. The temp is falling. I guess we're getting today what was predicted for yesterday. We put off going to do a pickup order because of my back and I think we'll be sorry we did. I don't think tomorrow is going to be good weatherwise and dh really wants eggs.
Yes I have a lot of those imcomplete little things and most are hats. Since they're small I can easily improvise or just rip them out. I'll get to them eventually. some things like one I picked up yesterday, I had no idea at all what it was supposed to be so I just ripped.Yes the heart shaped trivet is done except for weaving in ends. There are lots of current projects aka birthday gifts that need some finishing. Today is one of the grandaughters' birthday. She is turning 12. I can't believe she's that old already.
Yep I see snow has moved to us now. At least it won't be 2 feet.
Well I have to get busy doing some things so will see you all later.

Hello Everyone Ginny - Hope you didn't get much more snow and you were able to rest up in the evening. I checked and the Crossroads pattern is not available on it's own. I'm sure they would like people to buy the book. If it was a PDF download I'd buy it in a minute, but I'm trying to limit my mail orders because there is so much trouble getting packages here sometimes. Ruth - I'm sorry you didn't get out to pick up your order, hope that works out somehow for you and that you don't get much snow. It turned out sunny here this afternoon and the temperature made it up to 40, but it's a bit windy. The wind did dry off my steps, sidewalk and driveway, so that was nice. I went out and cleared off my newer car and just half of the snow from my older car which I don't use - the rest can just melt off of it. I'm not sure if I'll be making that Stonehenge Gradations quilt now. The pattern shows 6 different shades of fabric pieces and my layer cake only has 5 different shades. I'd have to see if I could figure out a way to manipulate it and then the quilt might look different. I'll think about it. There are other patterns I can use instead. Two of my relatives have gotten the first vaccine, different ones (but I'm not sure who got what). One of them just had a sore arm and some tiredness for several days, the other one because very nauseous for several days. Hopefully any of us that get it won't get sick. Take care and have a good day!

Ruth, for some I thought the trivet was star shaped- but you know me, I am scatterbrained . Of course you know what shape trivet you made. I’m sorry to hear that your back is still not better Are you still in spasms with it? Time sure flies with your granddaughter at 12, before you know it she’ll be out of high school and only a few short years and ready to go to college or take on adulthood. Do you hear much from your grandson in Taiwan? I hope that tomorrow you’ll be able to pick up your order from the grocery store. And with that hope is that your back is good enough for you to do so. Are you supposed to get snow or just really cold temperatures? Nasty winter weather can really change a persons mind about errands, but then I feel that way too when its too hot also. As far as projects go, sometimes i can pull apart a stitch or two and see how it went together, thus figuring out what stitch it was. And sometimes its just way too tough. what color did you make the heart shaped trivet- a neutral or red? CJ, Yes, it would sure be nice if that pretty crossroads pattern was available in a download. I just checked the book I have from fabric cafe to see if it has anything similar to Crossroads- unfortunately, it does not. My book has a star pattern I like even more than Oh my stars-its got a pattern called Best Friends, which I really like. There are 5 patterns in the book I have that I like a lot... www.fabriccafe.com/Easy-Does-It-3-Yard-Quilts-book-p/031950.htm. There are really only 3 patterns in this book that I do not like. Do you have any other neutral fabric that you could work into the Stonehenge Gradations quilt?? Is there a coordinating fabric from that company that you could use (and, regretfully will have to purchase). Hope you have some nice warm weather to get the snow off of your other car. SO much easier. One of the things I did today was clear off the driveway a bit so that it melted more. Sounds like more snow is on its way....perhaps Friday, perhaps early next week. Well lets see what tomorrow brings for me. I have an appointment late in the day for my first shot (got the call midday). It seems like a very organized system. I personally know of 4 people who got the shot (all Moderna). Only one of those 4 already got the 2nd shot- a 25 year old (teacher) in another state. She reacted to the second shot, but only felt achy and tired for a day or so. Certainly better than 2 weeks of covid. My friend in SC gets her second shot tomorrow.....will let you know how she does. Have a good night all Ginny

No it was me, Ginny, it is star shaped. Sometimes I wonder how certain things get typed here... Well after starting and stopping several times the snow finally kept coming down for awhile and covered the cars but not until after I went down to the mailbox and collected the mail and packages. Snow didn't last very long and I have no idea if it's supposed to snow during the night or not so I didn't put in an order.

Well as each of you know, my posts are sometimes hastily done, where I butcher names, forget details or generally sound like I am out to lunch. So- if could have been a star shaped trivet, or a heart shaped one and I could have completely gotten it wrong. Guess all I am saying is sometimes its a wonder I get a cohesive thought out here.
Ruth- hope you can get your grocery order in in good time so that Dh can have his eggs. Hoping its not too much snow either. A little snow is pretty, a lot is a nuisance.
Got my first covid shot. As expected, I feel 100% fine....hope that continues. Today, at this one location, my county administered 1700 (!) doses of vaccine. Quite an accomplishment...got a card that I go back for my next shot on March 3. And I did get some crocheting in today. Got to walmart and picked up 4 more plastic boxes to organize my sewing room. Will work on that tomorrow. Ginny

Hello Ruth - I'm glad you were able to collect your mail and packages, and hope you can get a grocery order soon. Ginny - I hope you don't have any reaction to the vaccine and I'm glad everything went well today. Hope you can get some organizing in your sewing room done too. It was sunny here today and not as cold. I never even went outside though, but I did stick my head out the back door for a few minutes I left the mail in the box since it is just junk mail. I get so many requests from charities, it's kind of crazy. Some of them have been requesting from me for years and I've never once donated to them. I just wonder why they keep sending requests year after year? I put the layer cake of the Stonehenge Gradations away. I just didn't like any of the patterns I thought would work for this, so hopefully I'll find something else one day. I did watch some videos and check out some websites today looking at blocks/patterns for borders around panels. I've made several tops with panels but I just only put straight borders around them and I'd like to try something more decorative the next time. Take care!

I did get a little accomplished today. I weaved in all the ends on the little things that I made for ddil, cleaned the yarn off that was burying my couch and also from on my bed. Then I worked some more on a thermal stitch potholder that I started last week
I'm glad to hear both of you are doing well. Ginny, I hope there are no adverse reactions and that you don't even have a sore arm
CJ, I often don't get out of my house and mostly don't even stick my head out.
This evening I might possibly make some pockets for that pocket shawl I debated on colors for the pockets. I received my order of Homespun and the deep purple goes great and matches perfectly some of the variations in the gemstone color I used for the actual shawl itself so I imagine I'll go with that.

CJ- I will take a picture and post here for the directions for the panel quilts I made for Christmas- they called for cornerstone blocks (made up of 12? 2 1/2 squares.....) which was a nice way to finish the corners and dress the panel quilt up. I did not use that for the baby quilt, as that was made of flannel.
Ruth, my arm is slightly sore, and I am tired but did not sleep well, so that could be it. My friend (not sure if that is who you meant) had light flu symptoms from her second Moderna shot. Think today she is feeling fine. How is your back? Do you think you will get to the store today and get your order placed?
Worked this am.....and had to pick up two students who missed their normal bus. Other than that a quiet morning and I crocheted while I waited for a call to drive.... I am tired, but did not sleep well last night. My arm is a little bit sore. Just glad I have gotten this one shot in Ginny

Hello Everyone Ginny - Thanks so much for posting that pattern, it does look like a great way to set off a panel. I'm glad you are feeling alright and didn't get sick from the vaccination. Have they cleared the roads well in your area? I hope so. Ruth - I'm glad you received your yarn and it matches well to make the pockets. I can stay in for several days before I feel like I have to get out. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are getting to do some crafting. I finally received my oil delivery today, it's over a week from when it was scheduled and I was concerned about running out of heating oil and had called the office about that. But when I pulled the holder off my outside doorknob where they leave it and there wasn't any bill inside! I was just thinking "can't anything be easy?" I called the office again and they said that probably the driver's printer wasn't working so they gave me the information over the phone. I was only 50 gallons away from the bottom of my tank! I haven't done anything in my sewing room, but I have been looking at tutorials and webpages/facebook and seeing things I'd like to do. The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for February is yellow so I need to sort out my scraps of yellow and see what I have. I don't use that color very much so I don't have a lot of it. But I'm sure I have enough to make the block I'm doing for the month. Take care ETA: I went outside to get the mail and I found my oil bill wrapped around the bannister on the steps I'm glad I found it and it didn't blow away.
