Good evening, Phyl - think a little fatigue can go with the shot. its great that that seems to be your only reaction to the shot, just some fatigue. That should pass within a day or so. I used to have a recipe for banana bread cookies. Was this your first time making that recipe? bet they smelled great baking.
CJ- well so glad that you finally got your oil delivery! Think we are in for some slightly cooler weather, so having a tank full of oil is a blessing indeed. And you found the bill- guess its sort of an odd place for the delivery person to leave it, but what a relief that it was there. You got your crafting in watching videos and tutorials. Its fun to check new projects and get inspiration. Hope you can find some nice yellow fabrics or the rainbow scrap challenge. How much fabric is used each month?
Ruth, hope your day went well.and its good to hear that you ordered the perfect color of homespun. I can imagine that you did use that for the pocket shawl pockets as it was a perfect match. You are a better woman than i am, working with homespun.
I did my share of internet viewing today, watched another video on free motion quilting...got some work to do on that, and lots of practice. Pretty sure that next week I will get to the quilt shop to get the fabric for DGS’s baby quilt. My roads are pretty much cleared, but there are moderately sized snow banks along the side. I am feeling ok, a bit tired but cannot complain.
Have a good night all Ginny

Phyl, I have never heard of banana bread cookies. I like banana bread but haven't had it in awhile. A friend from work used to make it and it was the most delicious I've ever had. She put choc chips in it which I didn't care for and maraschino cherries which I loved. Sadly she passed away several years ago. She was such a nice woman. When I came here and met her we found out we were both originally from Pennsylvania.I don't know that I'd like banana bread cookies. I'll have to look up a recipe and see what the ingredients are and how it's made which will hopefully give me an idea of how the cookie texture is. We like ours a little chewy not crisp but not like cake either.
CJ, I'm sure glad you got your heating oil. It had to be a huge worry when, after you ordered it, they didn't show up for a whole week.
Ginny, I hope you will get a good rest tonight. You're probably asleep already since it's after 10 where you are.

It felt like I had gotten here today earlier....and it sure looks like I did not.
I have made a chocolate chip banana cake, a peanut butter banana cake with chocolate chips (which is excellent) and my standard oatmeal banana bread, which is a great WW recipe. I cannot find the recipe for the chocolate chip banana cake, which is absolutely more like a cake than a bread.
Dd came over today- and I helped her shorten some curtains and hem them.....she wanted to use my machine as she is having tension issues with the one that she has. (She has my mother in laws Kenmore, which Dd has hardly sewn with). Got a nice walk in with her.
The vaccine had me feeling a little bit tired and achy today. Not bad for sure, just a little bit off.
Hope everyone got some crafting in today...is anyone planning on watching the football game tomorrow? I am invited over to Janes but we are supposed to get snow....I might just stay home. Will have to see how the day goes. Ginny

I hope those symptoms are soon gone, Ginny. I really like choc chip cookies but don't really care for them in other things. The sewing machine I finally got rid of was Kenmore and I got rid of it because it's always had tension issues and even a very expensive trip to someone that was a sewing machine repair person didn't fix the issue.
Yes I got in some crafting, both actual crocheting and my usual look at patters. I don't know why I keep looking at patterns. I have enough on my bookmarks folders to last me a few lifetimes. I did get some more ends woven in and got a hand sanitizer holder and another hanging basket done and am now working on sewing the two sides of a potholder together.

Ruth, glad to hear that you got some crocheting in- are you working on the pocket shawl?? Ok you came to the wrong place here to wonder why you still look at patterns? ??!!!! Yikes. Phyl is in HL an awful lot looking at fabrics, and CJ and I are in a constant state of looking at quilt designs. We look because it keeps us inspired. We look because it gives us fresh ideas for the supplies that we might want to buy - new yarn, new fabric- or for the supplies that we already have. Is the hanging basket for DDIL?? Symptoms are gone- from what I hear from my friend in SC (who got her second shot the same day I got my first) her symptoms were gone in 36 hours also. I wonder how Phyl is feeling....didn’t Sue and her Dh also get the covid shot, or was it the flu shot? Funny you mention machines- I actually considered buying both my DD’s Huskies this Christmas (not my sapphire which is a bit out of budget) but a smaller one- so that both girls would have a good machine. Dd#1 has my kenmore which was ok but had tension issues at times. DSIL threw out a part for it.....what a guy. And Dd#2 has my MIL’s kenmore. Wonder if I went to the quilt shop that I bought my machine from if she would give me a great deal on a smaller husky, I must be nuts. Ok time to get the dishes going. Its snowing here....supposed to end in about an hour. My crafting today is going to be practicing my swirls on paper, so I can transfer that to the machine. I see most of the free motion you tubes plus the free motion class I took 2 years ago suggest trying free motion patterns out by drawing them first to develop muscle memory. BBL Ginny

well the fairly pleasant weather of last week is gone. Today the high will be 12 degrees and it's to be like this all week. Dh cleaned the ashes out of the woodstove and made a fire. He still thinks I will watch the Super Bowl and maybe I will since it will be warm up here but I'm not really sure right now. Dh is not a football fan nor a fan of any sport except fishing. I made two pockets for the pocket shawl in that purple I mentioned then sat them on the shawl to see how they look. Well why didn't I do that after just part of the first pocket was done instead of waiting until both were completed. I found they don't look right so now I'm starting over with a cream color of the Homespun. I still wish they had a grey. Other than that I'm just trying to put the finishing touches on all these things and get them all together to wrap. I hope you're all having a good day. CJ if you find good things online today post us the wonderful links

Hello Everyone Ginny - I'm glad you are feeling better now from your vaccination. Phyl - I hope you are doing well after your vaccination too. Ruth - Hope you will stay warm from that cold weather. We had some snow here again this morning, but it was wet and with the warm weather on Friday it all melted on my steps/walk/driveway. The sun came out in the afternoon and I went out and cleared off my car because it's supposed to freeze up tonight. I spent some time yesterday backing up my desktop computer files. Speaking of quilt patterns, I saved about 300 quilt patterns to a CD disk since I didn't think I needed to save them to my external hard drive. I did save over 2000 quilt pictures to the hard drive I'm the same as all of you, I love to look at the pictures and patterns for ideas and also just because they are so beautiful. The blogs I check out on the weekend are So Scrappy for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching, here are links for you: superscrappy.blogspot.com/2021/02/scraphappy-sunshine-day.htmlkathysquilts.blogspot.com/Kathy Quilts had mentioned a Super Bowl Mystery quilt along that was today. I only saw this on Thursday or else I think I would have participated, but I didn't have time to get my fabric cut and ready to piece today. It's a nice quilt using only 4 fabrics. I did follow along today to see the posts and I'll give you a link where you can see the finished quilt and then you can scroll down near the bottom of the page where you can click on "These are the pictures I've received so far" to see some pictures of peoples fabric and quilt blocks: scrapdash.com/Take care everyone!

I have been ripping out. MY Christmas Kitty wall hanging.I did not like the curvy sides. I watched a easier way to do it on you tube using a fusible fleece. this way is easier to birth the project.
NOT SURE I will watch the game. might click now and then to see the score.the good westerns don't start till later in the evening ,like 9 pm
have a good evening. PHYL.

I forgot to mention that I finished cutting all the pieces for the blocks I'm doing for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge each month. I'm making 3 normal blocks, one miniature block and then I'm cutting 9 squares each month to make a Sudoku quilt later this year. I don't have my fabric for these blocks as organized this year so I hope I can spend some time to cut all the background fabric so it's ready to use each month. Ginny - You had asked about how much fabric I use but I'm just using scraps or fat quarters for these blocks each month, so no actual yardage. Phyl - You were posting when I was Sorry you have to rip things out of your quilt, but hope you can get it back together so it's straighter.

Remember I mentioned making a scrappy quilt? These are the directions I plan on using....just thought this would be fun, but a bit more coordinated than the one on the youtube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEROi6myQ9sCJ- have fun getting your fabrics organized for the sudoku quilt. It sure makes a project like that easier when you know what you are planning on doing and which fabrics to use. Also nice when that urge hits to quilt, that you can take out the preplanned fabrics and get to work. And gee, you sure have a lot of quilts patterns saved....the problem is deciding which one to work on! Phyl- how is that new method of getting the Christmas Kitty quilt working out for you? Glad the fusible fleece is a good choice for you. Ruth -it must be so frustrating not to have the exact color of homespun that you are looking for. Hope that the cream works out for you. Now I am looking for another pattern for the baby quilt- at the moment, I am considering a modified split rail. Heading to the quilt shop at the end of the week and I want to have a different pattern in mind to give me flexibility based upon which fabrics I like. Just a little tired tonight....think its still from the vaccine. G

Think the person whose fmq videos I am watching is Amanda Walters . I ordered one of her books too as a reference.
Phyl - I am sure the kitty quilt will be perfect for next Christmas ! Are you making it for yourself or as a gift?
