How telling is the difference between the secret vote on Chaney and the public one on MTG?
Could you explain this? What is the difference?
A vast majority of GOP House members voted to sustain Liz Chaney in her #3 position in the House. It was a secret ballot. When it came to stripping MTG of her committe memberships, it was a public vote and only 11 GOP reps voted to get her off the committees. They will be true to a more moderate version of their party as long as the voters don't know who they are. They are living in fear of losing that Trump lunatic-fringe vote, who are loving MTG.
amyrs, For her to keep getting press coverage she's going to have to keep being outrageous. If she minds her "p's & q's" and is quiet she won't be interesting to cover. If she keeps being outrageous she just proves the Dems were right to take her off committee.
lani, They are going to see cities burning and think that is what the Democrats stand for, and think the Capitol riot wasn't that bad because they didn't burn the place down. The Trumpers don't see a problem with what Trump wanted to happen so that isn't even on the radar. They are going to see burning down courthouses the as the same thing as the Capitol riot. Seems they are focusing on the "inciting a riot" part and not dealing with the "stealing the election" part other than to say Trump can't be impeached.
